I am retired and am now living in Ecuador. You are discriminating against not only me but any other retired American. My two union pensions I received them on between the 1st and the 3rd of each month. Then my Social Security check comes on the 4th and the 5th. How can I buy any of your products if there is an end of the month deadline.

I think that the Warrior Forum should be able to give us an ID Number so that we can buy products that we desperately want.

The sellers here are missing out on a great amount of buyers.

    You're kidding, right?

Even in this politically erect day and age, 'inconvenience' does not equate to 'discrimination.'

DISCRIMINATION Hmm interesting way of looking at it GTCRESSY,, may I suggest that you put aside some money from each of your pension payments and Social Security checks for what WSO/products you are interested in purchasing..
really you can't expect the WF to make changes for you and other retirees..ie special ID numbers..if that ever did happen every other group would want special consideration as well.

As Paul as rightly stated in his own way...not gonna happen mate.

I wasn't even thinking about the practical end of the post. It's just amazing to me how prevalent this mindset of "I don't like it (or understand it), so someone must be doing something Evil" has become.

I see this nearly every day. It's gotten to the point where it seems like the primary thought process for a significant chunk of the members here.

From the practical perspective, the first problem with the idea is simple: We have nothing to do with the sale.

The forum sells ad space, and has no part in the transaction between the buyer and the seller. If you want that kind of "delayed order" system, you will need to convince Paypal, Clickbank, 2Checkout, WarriorPlus, JV Zoo, DigiResults, and any other payment processors that may be used by the members to handle the money.

      Good luck with that.

Then there's the problem of how this would affect limited quantity offers, or deals where the price increases with each X sales. Given that most people who'd ask for the special code would probably never end up buying, that could create all sorts of chaos, not to mention reckless idiots accusing the sellers of fraud for "floating" price points due to those unclaimed codes.

... and some level of real fraud based on using that as an explanation.

It would take all of 3 days, I'd wager, for folks who weren't part of the defined exception group to start claiming they were. More BS injected into the process by people trying to either game the system or break it.

And then there's the very real problem of other groups that would demand the same option. Students and single parents come to mind immediately. And, of course, anyone who claims to be...

On one hand I recall smirking at my grandfather's use of expressions such as "kids these days", but on the other hand I now find myself sometimes saying "kids these days". Obviously though, this has nothing to do with age, and everything to do with mindset. I'd be completely fascinated Paul to someday hear your perspective on the predominate mindset(s) of the WF community of the present vs. the past or even vs. your TalkBiz list.

        Until then though, take care.

With that line of logic, every product and service provider who sells anything outside of GTCRESSY from Ecuador's pension check cashing week is practicing discriminatory policies...

          Sound about right?

Combine this with the ever-present entitlement mentality and you have an idea of what a nightmare customer service has become!

I still hold a day job (tech support) and it's my daily experience with every call I take. People are rude and demanding beyond the call of reason. They're mad 'cause it doesn't work and just want it fixed, but won't stop long enough to let me fix it.

They automatically assume I or the company has quite deliberately done this to them (Can we say "Ego!"?) and are on the warpath. Often, THEY caused the problem and/or the issue isn't actually ours. They don't want to hear THAT at all and then they go OFF...

I have little respect for customers who don't A) take responsibility (in the OP's case for their own finances) and B) behave in an adult, professional manner. Grrrr!

That the OP is obviously living check-to-check is NOT a good sign. There are plenty of good money management books and systems out there. I LOVE Mary Hunt's "Debt-Proof Living" which you can find on Amazon.com: Debt-Proof Living: How to Get Out of Debt &...Debt-Proof Living: How to Get Out of Debt &...
I hear Dave Ramsey also has a good system.

We ALL have cashflow issues at times and we all have to do the same thing: save our pennies. So I have little sympathy for the OP's complaint.

Believe me, there will always be a new WSO. So start a "WSO Fund" and put a set amount of money into it every month. Then when something comes along, you'll have the money.

The solution is simple. The discipline to implement it will cost you extra.

Paul Something of the sort can probably be done, by creating redemption coupons where one would purchase the coupon and redeem credits from it at a later date, sort of like a prepaid debit card but that would be entirely up to Mike Lantz otherwise the Warrior form as a whole would assume some type of responsibility for WSO'S of which Allen has no part of.

There's already a system for that. It's called "pre-paid debit cards."

What Glenn is looking for is closer to a rain check, except he wants to get a current sale price for an in-stock item at some undetermined later date. I'm not aware of any retail establishments that will do that, nor do I see any compelling reason it should be offered online.

              Paul

For larger purchases, PayPal also offers financing on some purchases - if the seller wants to offer it.

The problem I see with this idea is that if anyone were to offer such a plan, the company offering the plan is tying up their money so that someone else can pay later, but Glenn does not want to pay interest on his cash advance.

I honestly don't believe any company will let Glenn borrow their money for free.

It's not that complicated. We used to have to work just to get online, and we had to develop tools and systems when we wanted to do something. A helpful tip was genuinely appreciated, because it could mean the difference between quickly succeeding at something and watching it fall apart (or never get started) after days or weeks of effort.

Now, it's easy to get everything set up and people expect it all to be handed to them in sound bites of 50 words or less.

All the rest of the differences arise from those.
or even vs. your TalkBiz list.
There's a fair amount of overlap, but again... different groups. My subscription page is over 2000 words, and promotes a free book that's over 100 pages. My articles are usually not short, by any meaning of the word that's common in this industry. And a LOT of my subscribers are from well outside the IM field.

      Different groups, with different needs.

      Michelle,
Combine this with the ever-present entitlement mentality and you have an idea of what a nightmare customer service has become!
Ummm... Yep. I know, ma'am. We see it every single day.

That's mostly for the benefit of the folks who may not quite grasp how things work here, or why they're different from a local department store. Although, hell, lots of department stores won't issue rain checks on sale items, even to seniors.

As someone who is supposed to be old and wise you don't seem to appreciate your current situation. You technically get free money every month and have the freedom to live abroad. Many of us "internet marketers" will never see social security checks and pensions when we retire. I'd suggest you stop complaining and work your ass off like the rest of us.

I'm sure he has. Still doesn't give him the right to complain about something so petty. Simple cash flow management would solve his problem, all you need to do is set aside a small budget each month and problem fixed.

True. He has that right whether he worked hard or not. We're not required to let him do it here, but that's another issue.

We don't know his situation, so any opinion we might form on that is uninformed at best. It's a more useful tack to stick to the relevant points, which are the allegations of "discrimination" and the suggestion that we change the entire system to cater to one group in a way that could be easily gamed.

It occurs to me that if you're spending the entire amount of your three checks each month before the end of the month arrives, that you might want to stay away from buying non-necessities and stick to necessities (such as food, clothing, shelter). If you have nothing left over by the end of the month, I don't see how you could afford these products.

Actually they're not; study upon study (and my own metrics) have shown very consistently that these "deadlines" actually increase sales, not diminish them. Just a thought.

You mentioned about a target market - thanks for that , but if you really want a product you can work out with the product creator something in return - a video , a good blog article or anything which you have expertise on

Many a times if you send a decent request some of the product creators may give out a review copy too ( does not work always)

But you can always barter for something - share anything of value based on your experience/expertise & sometimes you may get the product at no cost

Example - I am willing to give some of my WSO's if you are willing to create quality original articles, Videos , blogs for me

        Roger,
Many a times if you send a decent request some of the product creators may give out a review copy too (does not work always)
The rules do not allow asking for review copies unless the seller specifically offers them.

Leaving aside the issue of asking random strangers for free stuff, there are too many problems resulting from this practice. For one thing, the fastest way to get a product pirated is to give a "review copy" of it to someone from certain parts of the world.

The practice has led to another serious problem: Expectation. There have been too many folks here who seemed to think that saying "No" to a request like that was grounds for lying about the product and resorting to threats of various kinds in order to extort what they believe they're entitled to.

Very few people ever do proper reviews of the freebies they beg for anyway.

If someone asks for a free review copy of a product and the seller hasn't specifically offered them before that, please report them.
But you can always barter for something - share anything of value based on your experience/expertise & sometimes you may get the product at no cost
Whole different issue. As long as the person making the offer follows through, that's fine.
