I need advice: Got some traffic, how to monetize?

Hello Warriors,

I need some advice from the best of you who know.
Imagine knowing the basics of IM such as how to put up a website, keyword research, SEO, basic knowledge of social media, knowing importance of backlinks and so on . . .

. . . but you don't know much beyond that. You're not slick, the mind's not abuzz with all sorts of creativity. And then someone hands over to you a website that's getting about eight thousand unique views a month. It's a site that has about 60 pages, has a lot of keywords, internal linking, a history of article marketing so that every once in awhile there are another few backlinks--in fact, the site has hundreds and hundreds of backlinks--most of which I did not create. I know 8K is not a whole lot but it still IS something and may have potential.

My predicament is that I have a site I made about 3 years ago in which I put about 7-8 months into it, became discouraged with it and neglected. It was getting 3K uniques a month, now it's about 8. It was made for adsense but Google sometimes is not kind. Some money has been made but not much.

So it's like I'm a complete nube who knows the basics and has been handed this site (even though it's I who built it) that has some potential but I don't have much have a clue what to do with it (make money). I've been paying monthly for the hosting and renewing the url yearly but haven't much attention to it until now.

I need suggestions on how to monetize. It's in the Health and fitness niche--more specifically about weight training with dozens of articles, keywords, internal linking, and so on.

I am humbly asking for advice.
