Hi everyone I'm new to the forum and am looking for some advice. First I think I will give you a little background to explain my situation.

Years ago a relative of mine was using the internet as a full time job (as an affiliate, providing unique products through websites etc), and the company she created made insane amounts of money as your hear a number of experts make today – think over $20k per month, consistently, for years. After a few years, however, everything was dropped.

The (very) old websites are still online (and some are STILL making money). We met recently and discussed that since I want to change my life and lifestyle and she does not want to put any effort into reviving the old business, we agreed that I would put in all the effort required and our families would reap the benefits.

So my plan, in short, is this:

1. Update a number of old websites that deal with online products and promote them to increase the income of the company

2. Expand the business by promoting different products as an affiliate

3. After learning and understanding more of how everything functions online (successfully) from the 2 points above, revive another core of the business that centered on a certain industry and would make use of my current (and new) skills and knowledge.

Through my research so far I have become a bit overwhelmed by all the options and methods available on how things are done these days (I did make a little money through Google Adwords when I was at University through affiliate marketing).

If you’ve gone through the trouble of reading all of this, can you give any pointers on where to start? Should I get some sort of online course, or anything specific in mind I should read about?

I have begun looking at how websites are made from Worpress, but am not sure if this is the right first step. Will it be better to have someone else do the job? Any advice and help you can offer will be greatly appreciated, and I will try and reciprocate in any way I can !

Thanks for your time guys.

Rob

Although that is a good idea I am already working a full time job as a lawyer and cannot afford to quit at the moment. She has also fallen behind on the knowledge of how online marketing works in order to revive the old business. So I'm a bit stuck at the moment !
