Any 3rd party mail delivery service would work for you.

Did you just buy a email list? I always would recommend to built a list with a trustful email marketing company like aweber. I'm not quite sure but I don't think you just can import a list into aweber.

You would need the IP address and the date of the opt-in if you wish to import your email list to a 3rd party email marketing provider. If you bought your email list no 3rd party email marketing company will allow you to import the list.

You can however host the list yourself. This can be a pain as you have to go through lots of white listing steps to make sure your recipients receive the email. You must have your own VPS or server to do this. Of course, you always run the risk of getting spam complaints too, so if you bought the list probably also a bad idea. However, ListMailPro is one of the best self hosted platforms if you do not have the IP or date of opt-in.

I think after what I've seen today, probably not aweber. They've been down for about seven hours.

It depends on how you want to run:
1 Your own servers, DNS etc, which means you buy or install one of the commercial or open source packages out there. The risk is, if you get spam reports, your domain / ip will be blocked in a heartbeat and you'll have a really hard time getting unblocked.

2 Hosted servers where you load up your own software . The risk is somebody else in that same hosting center getting a spam complaint, and you get blocked because you're in the same ip range etc.

3 A hosted / subscription email service. The risk of somebody else getting you spamblocked is still there, but the upside is the service has a pro staff to chase that issue down and get unblocked.

I recommend you use www.1shoppingcart.com and the others such as Constant Contact, Sitesell...

any email hosting service will do for you. all you need is to throttle down your emails to a reasonable rate, lets say 200 emails per hour etc... and make sure there is no spam or complaints ...

...or a high bounce rate, low open rates or spam traps in your list.

Sending emails is easy the hard work is getting them inboxed.
