What would you do with a 100$ to get started as a IM?

You can use all the knowledge that you have now.

You can do anything with money but we are gonna say you don't have a website.

I wanna see what other creative ways there are besides using a website.

I might pick the best way I see here and give it a test run!

Thanks,

Dylan

Yup. From the rules sticky -

        (5) No Affiliate Links Allowed - Promote Your Own Domain/s Only. It's either this or we have to cut out sig files altogether which we do not want to do.

        Cheers,

How do you find a proven online business course? And what is the definition of proven? They appear to be all overstated hype and the review sites are all paid review sites you can buy on the WSO thread and fill with your affiliate links and give awesome reviews of worthless sites/ebooks, etc.
I don't trust much anymore after wasting money online courses and ebooks.

I'd promote my review-sites with a concerted, consistent campaign of article marketing, posting many articles every day at EzineArticles and then re-posting slightly edited versions of them on my own sites and at other article directories.

I'd invest time instead of money in learning how to get backlinks and other free methods of SEO and putting them into practice.

I'd make helpful, non-promotional posts in 10 or 15 different forums, displaying an appropriate signature-file with suitable anchor-text.

I might also buy one of Chris Rempel's e-books on affiliate marketing.
Yes in retrospect PPC might be a bit risky.

Whatever he does he will need traffic to sell something to get the business rolling.

Note: You shouldn't have to spend the whole $100 on a course - especially if you haven't made good money already.

I'm sure someone like John Reese can help you as he has helped me in the past.

        his latest is income.com.

        - Willie Crawford can help you also.

        About getting ripped off...

I hope you got refunds if you brought some junk that didn't work for you.

The only stuff I've brought recently was perhaps a tool or resource that would help me do something in my business better, easier or faster.

But in the past when I was searching for a how to course...

I have refunded dozens of products in the past when I felt they over hyped the claims or they asked me to do things I didn't really want to do.

I would not buy anything unless it was sold on clickbank or perhaps paypal.

        Moving on...

Well you could start with a proven online business model.

Such as the affiliate model, the info-product model, the adsense model and others.

        These models work.

It's just a matter of getting the step by step directions and then the tools and resources in order to implement the steps.

Keep your expenses low, stay away from the IM niche and become a tester and you'll find success sooner rather than later.

See this thread for more info.

If you have a site and/or product of your own or to promote I would spend it on PPC.

But make absolutely sure you understand PPC first, otherwise it will be the quickest hundred bucks you will ever lose

    $100 Marketing Plan

    $10 Domain Name
    $90 PPC
    Hosting FREE

Pick a niche and do your keyword research for easy keywords.

Register a domain with the highest traffic keyword in it.

Write a review page with 5 affiliate products on it using your affiliate links (cookie stuffing optional)

Create a squeeze page for this domain and install a free autoresponder script.

Write articles based on your keywords.

For each article submit it to the top 5 article directories linking back to your site with your main keyword in bottom fold and also a link in resource box.

Add each article to your autoresponder series with a link to your review page at the bottom.

Use comment kahuna (free) to create blog links to your squeeze page

Add articles to your website before submitting them to article directories to help with your seo.

Get targetted traffic at the minimum bid to your squeeze page. If you get google slapped do some research on how to avoid this (it's simple but not going to go into it here).

Learn how easy this process is and get someone else to do it for you 100 times.

      $100.00 Starting fund...
      -$42.00 (100 us postage stamps)

      $58.00
-$28.00 (black printer ink cartridge at office max)

      $30.00
      - $5.00 (box of 500 "business type" envolopes)

      $25.00
      - $7.00 (3 large cans of RedBull)

      $18.00
      - $7.50 (2 pints of your favorite brew, + tip)

      $9.50 (left over balance....go buy a WSO )

Begin with drafting up a kickass intro letter that you send out to local small business owners around town offering your "offline marketing" services. There are some great examples of letters floating around the WF, just use the search for: "offline" or "cash cow" topics.
Do some research into each business, see if they have websites or yellow pages ads.

Use your black ink purchased from office max to print out 100+/- copies. Stuff them into the "business type" envolopes.

Use the 100 postage stamps you purchased to send them out. I would expect 3 - 4 days before you receive any replies...

Use those 3 days to personally visit other local business you did not mail too. Maybe do something like visit restaurants one day, doctors - dentists the next, hair salons, days spas the next (any type of business will do, in any order)
*Use one can of RedBull per day...you will need the energy boost....

After bagging your first client $2,500.00 from your personal visits, and another 2 appointments through your mailings....you go celebrate at your local pub with a cold, frosty pint of your favorite brew....go ahead, order a second...you earned it

Just one of many ways to effectively spend $100.00,

      Ken

I would then become an affiliate for the product .

Ken! That's great. I love the approach!

I have a similar program: (poor man's blogging consulting biz)

    - Wordpress blogs are so easy to create, practically anyone can do this with very little skills...

    1) Grab the yellow pages
    2) Find local businesses that don't have blogs
    3) Call them and pitch them on why they need one
    - For 100 bucks you will...
    4) Set them up a hosting account (under your affiliate link of course)
    5) Set up a Wordpress blog and configure it
    6) Give them a little training (or develop a quick training package) on how to post to it
    7) Wave goodbye, rinse and repeat

It should only take you 2 hours to do each project.

For every blog you create, you pocket 100 bucks and end up with $9/month residual from the hosting affiliate.

That may not sound like much, but in 2 years, you could have done 1000 blogs in your local area and be sitting on 9k per month passive income that will never go away in any economy. People rarely get rid of their hosting services. Especially since it is so in-expensive.

Give that one a shot. I have a student that is now clearing 12k per month on this program.

    Yeaya!

    Rock on!

P.S. I explain how to do this on my blog below.

It's funny because something like creating a wordpress blog seems so simple to us. We can do it in our sleep. The general population and most brick and mortar business owners don't have the first clue about what a blog is or how to even begin to set one up.

    I'd do this -

... Use the Google Keywords Tool, SEO for Firefox plugin to conduct some market research.
    ... Buy a domain name for $8.99
... Buy one month hosting off Hostgator for $0.01
... Create a blog based on wordpress for free!
... Promote ONE product on the website.
... Generate traffic to the website.

My traffic generation plan generally revolves around two things - traffic from Search engines and traffic from other websites. I'd comment, exchange content, softwares and other goodies with other websites in exchange of a backlink. Not only a backlink, but also a small traffic boost. Twofold benefit.

When I taste some success, I'd go back to step 1, build one more site and then repeat the process till I achieve the amount of income I want. Note that not all sites will fetch the same amount of money. On your good days, you'll find some very good keywords that can make you a lot of money. On some bad ones, you'll struggle. Achieve a balance between the two.

Buy a quality Private Labe Rights package ($47 or less), get hosting (HostGator.com $5) and a domain ($10), get an autoresponder (Aweber.com $19).

Build a squeeze page which gives away one or the PLR products you bought in exchange for people giving their name and email. After they optin to get the free product redirect them to a one-time-offer which offers the rest of the PLR products for $27.

Send traffic to the squeeze page using your forum sig, blog comments, article submissions, traffic exchanges, your blog, etc.

You will get some sales but the bigger asset is the list you are building which you can recommend affiliate products to and eventually launch your own product to. Your first product...how I started with $100 and made $XXX in XX months.

    1. Business cards. About $30.

    2. Direct mail. Send 50 DM pieces to local businesses (20 mile radius) in your niche. About $20.

    3. Gas! The next day, get in your car and drive to each of those businesses you mailed.

Ideally, you get to those businesses the day they get your mail. Tell them you've sent out a direct mail promotion and wanted to directly connect with the businesses closest to you. Give them your business card. Talk to them about your offer and what you can do for them. Stress that you're specifically interested in helping small business in your area, because you know firsthand how difficult running a small business can be.

If you chose your prospects wisely, you should get at least one business to hire you, and that should give you more money to reinvest in your business.

Yes. Offer them both. Offer to create a website for them that will be SEO'd, create a wordpress blog so that they can easily maintain and update it on their own. Offer to do scheduled updates for them at an upsold price.

If they already have a site, offer an SEO service or offer to help them market it. Most companies aren't aware of PPC. You can help them set up a PPC campaign that targets their local area.

Or you can offer maintainance services. Many companies get a website set up once and then never update it again. They have pictures and info on the site that are years old. Find some of these websites from local companies and offer to update them, modernize them, and SEO them.

There are limitless opportunities for people who know html, wordpress, SEO, PPC, etc. Especially if you are willing to promote your services offline.

Make some good money doing this, experiment with affiliate marketing, PPC and your own blog on the side to help make some easy passive income.

    Personally I would invest the money in the following;

    1. A graphic designer to create a sizzling hot logo for my site, this would cost around $50 for an hour or two's work.
    2. The other $50 would go into purchasing a domain and website hosting. The rest i could do for free including backlinking etc.

I know my wordpress, and ppc.

SEO, I know the basics nothing crazy.

HTML, I have a cheat sheet...

Would this be enough to approach a business and give it my all!?

To tell you the truth, I think business owners would really admire the fact that a young, 19 year old, entrepreneur was out pounding the pavement trying to establish a business. I know I would have really respected that back when I ran a brick and mortar type business.

Get some business cards made and make sure you look professional. I don't think your age will hold you back much.
