When building my 1st website, what's better: should I choose to use WordPress with an Ecommerce plu

INTERNET MARKETING

Hi everyone, I’m just making my first steps and I want to start by registering my own domain and creating a site. In the first months, I don’t want to sell anything, just fill my site with content, deliver more articles and give my visitors the option to opt-in for a news letter. I do plan to sell some affiliated products on my site, in a very low pressure, baby steps concept. Mainly for me to test out how that goes billing & shipping wise (Like i mentioned, I am a total newbie). The products will be affiliate selling. Audio tapes & books. My question is this: if I’m thinking 24 months ahead, than my site will grow and I will get more traffic & sales so an eCommerce software makes sense. But maybe a WordPress with an eCommerce plug-in can be just as effective because I don’t know what the volume will be and in any case I don’t see myself operating a full fledged store, just probably selling 5-10 products but more of them, as time goes by.
What will you do? What's the best choice at this stage?
The main focus in the first 10 months for me will be more on content writing, growing my list and getting traffic and Google SERP rather than money making via sales.
Your Advice? I appreciate your opinion.

Well im not reading your description lol. From your subject line though I always say wordpress unless your a coder, Much cheaper and you can find al the ecommerce plugins you want.

P.s. you may want to format your posts. Not trying to make enemy's but that is really hard on the eyes man.

i think he means put your post in some paragraphs rather than one big block of text.

Definitely go with wordpress as well its easy to get content up quickly, its free, you have a huge amount of themes to use and there are ecommerce plugins like woocommerce and marketpress that you can run the shop with

  Meh, it depends what you are selling. If you are selling audio and ebooks, you are better off looking at something like e-junkie or Fetch App works really well. You can then build content via wordpress.
  
  For most physical products, use a dedicates shopping cart script or host since they allow you to grow better and don't have security issues as bad as wordpress. Not a big deal when its just content but when you start taking someone's credit card, becomes a bigger issue.

In my opinion:
If you are doing reviews and articles of products go wordpress.
If you are going to set up an online store go eCommerce software.

Since you are still focusing on writing content then Wordpress will be a good start. Then, you can easily integrate e-commerce plug-in once you have the products to sell.

And 24months is very conservative. If you are consistent like creating content every day and syndicate or promote it then in 6months you have a good traffic in your site. Just my thought.
