Do you use press releases to get more subscribers?

I was wondering if there's anyone who used or uses press release to generate traffic to their squeeze page. Is it even a good idea?

    Yes, it is a very good idea and it does work.

    Recently I did a test.

    I wrote a press release and submitted it to a press release submission site.
    It was SBwire. Their regular submission is 20 bucks or 50 bucks a month.
    The submission that I used was via fiverr to sbwire for $5.

    I got 15 subscribers.

    33 cents per subscriber is not too bad.

    This was just a test with 1 release and not optimized. You also have to factor in the writing part. There are fiverr gogs that offer press release writing and submission to sbwire for 5 bucks. You have to test for yourself how that works out.

    Press Releases are a good way to go. I use PR Wire and it not only gets me sign ups but if done correctly boosts the SEO for whatever page I'm writing about. One trick with PR's is to make sure you treat the release like any other page you'd want to get ranked and give it some social love and links. Another words boost your PR so it can help you even more.

    I do it, not sometime but quite often.
    but I go for massive distribution - to spread the word around.
    You would need to choose a good PR distribution but it won't be free. I pay upto $150 per distribution and it get submitted to hundreds of Press release sites.
    Start on a small scale - Do a test and then go ahead for massive PR distribution if you get positive results.

    With most press release distribution services it is very hard to control who will be receiving them. To the extent you have a sense of who your target audience is, check out if you can target your press release distribution in some way. That said, fine tuning the list generally raises the price and targeted lists are somewhat harder to find. OK, good luck, Edward Smith.

    Yes! It's an excellent source for traffic.

    As mentioned above you can get it written on Fivrr for $5 and then pay another $5 for distribution. $10 total. Try it and with your squeeze page and track the results on that $10 investment.
