Please Tell me Get Response hasn't Been DDOS Attacked...

Guys... Right, I've got accounts at both Aweber and Get Response and well... Now I can't access Get Response.

PLEASE tell me this is just a hiccup and not a DDOS attack.

I can't access both GetResponse and AWeber. Both are down for me. Had to pause a ton of ads. This is getting tedious.

These Ddos attacks have been happening quite frequently, why aren't these 2 more prepared for this?

Because it isn't usual for hackers to be attacking small/niche specific business like this. Someone must be really bored?

If you think about it, it's actually a good thing, it warns the CEO's that they need to up their security and have a back up plan. That's probably what these hackers are only trying to do. It's usually what hackers try to do, however you do always have those black hat hackers that just like making things crash.

Yeah I agree but with the recent attacks on game servers and other sites you would still think they should have been ready for something like this.

well, no because the gaming industry isn't relevant to the auto responder industry. If that were the case, every company would be sending people notifications about security issues and that only draws customers away.

What would that have to do with it? The Ddos attacks have been going on for the past 3-4 months and like a I said other sites were hit besides gaming servers, it has been a known threat and they should have been prepared.

    Aweber seems better today...

It's a pity these hackers don't put their considerable skills to better use - they could probably make a fortune.

From Aweber's Facebook page about an hour ago:

We continue work as quickly as possible to mitigate this afternoon's DDoS attack. We apologize for the frustration this has caused, and appreciate your patience.

For email and text updates, subscribe to our status page: http://status.aweber.com/

On GetResponse's page about half an hour ago:

Important notice for all GetResponse users! Our website is temporarily out of service, we're fixing it as we speak. We'll update you about the situation as it changes. Sorry about any inconvenience caused!

      More from AWeber:

To our valued and loyal customers,

On behalf of the entire AWeber team, I want to deeply apologize for the service interruptions that you've experienced over the last 48 hours. We understand how much you rely on our service to help run and grow your business and the frustration this has likely caused. I want to explain what happened and what we're doing to lessen the likelihood that it will happen again.

Beginning Monday, we experienced a repetitive Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack which left our service unavailable. For those unfamiliar with the term, a DDoS attack is when an attacker floods a site with so much traffic it is unable to respond to legitimate requests. While we already had systems in place to deal with these types of attacks, the nature and severity of this attack was on a massive scale. It is important to know that absolutely no customer data or information was compromised.

In the last 48 hours, we have devoted all available resources and worked around the clock to get our network back online and put new and stronger mitigation systems in place. At this time, 95+ percent of our customers have full access to our service. Our remaining customers may have partial or unavailable service as ISPs update their DNS systems. To be clear, our website is 100 percent back online, but some customers may have trouble accessing it over the next several hours.

Moving forward, we remain fully committed to providing you with the highest level of service possible. While attacks like this could happen to any website, no one ever wants it to happen to them. We've already learned from this incident and will continue to learn, so that we can make our service even stronger.

Thank you for your continued support.

It is an attack. I just tried and couldnt get in.

Here is what their website Just said :

Identified - The issue has been identified and a fix is being implemented.

    Investigating - Dear GetResponse Customers,

GetResponse is currently under a major DDoS attack that is affecting most
of our systems, and we are working around the clock to mitigate this threat
and bring our servers back online.

What is important to note is that none of our services have been breached,
and that no data has been compromised by the attackers.

It's back up for me too, but unfortunately I think there are still some server issues going on because I can't seem to properly integrate my Lead Pages account with my Get Response account. I keep getting, "Failed to connect to GetResponse account!" I hope it gets fixed soon!

Yeah, I stumbled across this thread for the same reason.

      Kind of frustrating.

I have backup providers, but managing multiple lists, segments, AR's, etc across different email services is going to be a pain.

Hopefully it's resolved soon. If not I'm moving away from GetResponse (overall I'm happy with them - this would be the exception).

        Hi,

I'd just like to point out that there is NO ONE who can't be taken down.
The U.S. Dept. of Defense has been taken down. Amazon has been
        take down.

No one is safe from a large enough army of bots.

Meetup.com was taken down. Anyone can be taken down by
        someone who controls enough bots.

Aweber and Getresponse have provided enormously valuable services
at prices FAR cheaper than many competitors. They should be given
        slack concerning this.
