Here's my situation: launching an ecommerce site for a product I own that sells well on Amazon (weight loss supplement). I want to sell the product on my site so I can avoid the FBA fees (I'll still sell on Amazon of course).

I plan on driving traffic with PPC. The question is, drive traffic to what page? The vibe I'm getting on this forum is to drive traffic to a squeeze page and email market from there. Is that really much more effective than driving traffic right to the product page? If so, why? It seems like 2 extra steps to get them to the direct page to buy. Or does the squeeze page supposedly make it easier to build trust?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Well, having a squeeze page let you gather all their email addresses. This help you to built a list and in the future sell them more stuff and build trust.
Also, remember that most of the time when you redirect people to the salespage people dont buy. They just close the offer. So... instead of that, if you first show a squeeze page and promote what is inside of that squeeze page (the salespage) people will give you their email and even if they dont buy you can still have more opportunities to try to sell them that product again.

Every 2 or 3 days you can promote them the same products but you can write in the email very good information of the product and you have more opportunities to convicence people.

    Hope this helps =)

      Hey airban,

sending them to a squeeze page is the right choice generally speaking, because you need to capture their email addresses.

You could send them to your product or sales page as long as you capture their details after payment - like straight from Paypal payment screen to a registration page.

You MUST get all your buyer's details though and market to them.

The squeeze page idea is also useful as not everyone will want to buy. yet this still gives you a way of keeping in touch and promoting your stuff to them.

Don't forget to move them onto your buyers list when they make a purchase though

      Hope this helps...

A squeeze page is for gathering subscribers. It should increase conversions as compared to other techniques.

    Hi.
A squeeze page is a landing page created to solicit opt-in email addresses from prospective subscribers.
in future you can sell it to your co worker and also use in direct marketing.
