Best way to make extra money when you work full time

Hi all,

Long time lurker to these forums. As the thread title says, I currently work full time and also have a 1 year old at home so my time has been limited in the past year to say the least.

I have been lucky enough in the past that I have a few Amazon affiliate sites that bring in $500 or so dollars every month to me, so I do make a little extra cash on the side from internet marketing. The trouble is now I don't have time to write useful review posts, build massive sites, etc. I realize I can outsource as well, but i'd like to pay off some of our other bills and stuff first and foremost.

I know that there are many "how do I make money" threads on here, but I haven't found one that is specifically for full time workers.

I realize that this may be a long shot, I am certainly not looking for a "get rich with no work" type thing, but wouldn't mind hearing ideas of what other people have worked in the past to pad the bottom line so to speak. Anyway if you wouldn't mind helping it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

if you dont have time and you dont want to outsource. theres nothing you can do.

i suggest investing > paying bills

if so, take that $500 a month and reinvest it to outsource more sites.

If you don't have a lot of time then and don't want to spend all your income on your current bills then I would say to dedicate a small amount of time doing specific task that create long term traffic.

I am currently in the same situation as you. Solavei changed their comp plan and I went form bringing in $2,600 per month down to about $500/month. 2 weeks later BOOM the wife gets laid off

I had to get a full time job but I want my online profits to continue to grow. So now I dedicate enough time per week to put out 1-2 youtube videos. I have made hundreds of YT vids over the past few years know that if you you pick a particular niche and post 1-2 videos per week on that niche your videos will start showing up on google first page searches. (if the videos are optimized correctly.)

I have videos that show up on 1st page google searches that have been on the first page for YEARS. I know that if I at least make time to keep the videos flowing 5 years form now I will have continued growth online.

If you not a video person this may sound like a big feet. But it is so much simpler than what people actually think. I can bang out a video have it optimized and uploaded in 10-30 min. Once or twice per week and you can at least be setting yourself up for the years to come.

Another thing I have been toying with is dumping the $2,000 need to get a life time license of SENUKE X (Automated SEO Software) . I have also had great success with that and continue to make money form the campaigns I ran with it back a few years ago.

Pay off your bills and then use the rest to hire somebody to write some content for you.

If you are making $500 a month extra you should know what works and what does not work. Simply make more posts similar to the ones that bring in the money and you should be good to go.

Thanks all, fair enough. I was just thinking of branching out a bit though and doing something a bit different from Amazon sites and was just looking for some ideas. Something I used to do was write articles for a site like Squidoo. I have heard of others that do things like build their own product, which i'm not entirely sure what that means. Just idea hunting for things that might interest me is all .

    Thanks again!

Go to the WSO section of this forum. That section is nothing but "Products" that other warriors have created. That will give you an idea of what a "product" is.

A product would be a "guide" or "report" teaching others about how you made a website that is bringing is $500 every month.

      Hey there Richard,

This is a little self serving but I have a wso thread where I give away a free report (no opt in required) just click the link and it's yours.

In it I cover how to take massive action and avoid information overload, how to create actionable information products, and how to avoid 5 huge mistakes that plague product creators. It's 6 pages and I think it may help to answer your question (details in sig).

      Make it a great day,

So your answer is right there:

Make more Amazon affiliate sites in the time that your child is sleeping. Sure you can do a few every single day.

This is already getting you an OK income so rinse and repeat.

Thanks all, I have tried the outsourcing thing a bit before. I just find that I am using all of the money I have made to invest in content, and SEO. Do you normally only spend a portion of your earnings on outsourced items out of your income?

      Find cheaper outsourcing.
If the money you invest brings in more money, then it's worth it, no?

I would also say that if you know how to build WP sites then try being an affiliate marketer. Sign up with jvzoo, clickbank, warriorplus etc and try to hawk other people's digital products for a commission.

Honestly, I look at the stuff we do and to me you can either spend money, or spend time. If you can't so either then you might be in trouble sorry I don't have any other way to sum it up. IMO if you can't invest the money or time, the chances of success are very limited.

    Hi Richard,

You earn around $500 a month from Amazon affiliate sites. The last thing you should be doing now (no offense to whoever suggested it) is buying WSOs and looking into new methods. I could give you hundreds (it's one of the things I do for a living) but, in my opinion, you need to scale up. Time is a constraint, obviously. If I were you, I'd think of the future. If you're able to, reinvest some of your profits into measures to scale up your existing moneymaking model: software, media buys, content. I could ramble all day. Upshot: Did I mention you should scale up?

Cleared your bills, and do outsource, I recommend Upwork there are talented freelancers who can help you a lot

  • The first question is..

How long do you work for per week?

And how much time could you spend on your internet business?

Investing is one way, however this too takes time.

I recommend you start by getting clear on how much time you can invest every week/month first.
