Minimum number of traffic to start monetization

Guys,
One of my blogs gets around 1K+ unique visitors daily. That is 30K+ unique in 30 days. Currently I am not using any monetization method. My blog is full of solid contents and nothing else. No advertisement, no affiliate link. Just wondering, do you think its time to start monetizing? Or should I still wait to have more traffic?

By the way, most of my traffic are from the US.

Thanks
K

You do not have to go overboard and turn your site spammy but I suggest starting something today. Just do not be overbearing to your readers starting off.

Congratulations on all that traffic. Goodness, yes, get started with your advertising.

Set up a schedule of advertising, and a goal of how much you want to make per week and work towards that.

You have a couple choices. Create something of your own to sell or offer affiliate offers, or a mix of both.

I hope you have been building a mailing list? If so, you could run an offer by them today and make money. If you have not, get your list started today too. It is one of the best ways to keep in contact with your visitors and get them to return and start making some sales...

Traffic means nothing unless its targeted and responsive you should definitely have an optin form to get them in your list forever(unless they unsubscribe)

What I suggest is to create a free offer or lead magnet to give away in exchange for your traffic's email. You can then have sales funnel setup after they optin or have a follow up sequence from autoresponder. This is where you have affiliate products you promote that they need.

      Whats is your blog niche?

        Hi neelshopno123,

First, there is no exact minimum number of traffic for you to know if your site is ready for monetization. Traffic is very essential especially if you are aiming to monetize your website but having a traffic that is not niche targeted is just aiming an arrow without a target. I think it is premature to assume that your site is ready to be monetized just by having thousand visits per day. Just like other members said, it should be targeted and in line with your niche. Also, your site should be capable of carrying a significant amount of traffic and visitors should find it interesting. Start by segmenting or knowing where your visitors come from and know exactly what part if your site captures the visitors attention, in that way you will know what, where and who you'll target.

        Thanks,

        Aaron

Most of us develop website for money only. So monetizing the website from right go would be the ideal scenario. That being said, I am not sure for what you were waiting till date! Only make sure the monetization techniques that you are using in your website is relevant and the readers have real interest in them.

You should have started monetizing from day one. To start with I would offer a relevant ClickBank product (buy it and check it out before offering it) followed by a PLR Private Label Rights) product if there is one in your niche and follow up with your own product. This will probably take you a few months for all three but you could have an affiliate product and list building in place within a couple of days.

With 30K visitors a month, you can earn good money.
You can put adsense there or CPA offers according to your traffic.
The main thing is traffic, once you are getting traffic, there are several ways to monetize them.

IMO, you should have started monetizing your site when you hit at least 100 daily visitors. But of course, what is done is done but definitely this is the best time to monetize.

Indeed. You can start NOW! Ensure that you have an optin and sales funnel in place. Build your list then promote your products. What's your niche?

I wouldn't be too concerned that you haven't started yet. One of the guys I learned from suggested you didn't monetize until you were receiving consistent traffic.

I would create a killer, highly targeted freebie. I would put a lightbox on the site offering the freebie in exchange for completing a short survey. Ask how they would feel about ads on the site. Would they be less likely to use it if it had ads?

You might also mention that having "sponsors," would help keep the site free to use, or allow you to make it better, etc.

People like to give their opinion. You will get a good idea of the pros vs cons of different types or amounts of promotion. Some people understand you have to have advertising to pay for a free service. Others just don't care. Polling them will tell you what you can get away with without alienating your visitors.

As soon as you start monetizing your site, that is the best time to start monetizing. In fact, there is no specific amount of traffic to be achieved before start monetizing. You can start it whenever you want to.

I don't really understand what you are waiting for and why you want to go slow? You're going super slow that's for sure with 30k visitors per month.

    You should have started immediately.

Don't be afraid to market to people. This is what internet MARKETING is all about after all.

People don't mind you selling them things when you are offering relevant products that help them, solve their problems and make their lives better.

I hope you are building an email list to capture all these visitors and turn them into repeat visitors and loyal readers / buyers?

I agree with Stuart....what are you waiting for? If you're providing value there is no reason to feel hesitant or ashamed about receiving compensation. Inherently people realize valuable content takes time to produce and generally feel you have the right to earn money from it as long as it's done in a respectable manner.

IMO, It's better to start from day 1 with a reasonable amount of marketing. That way people are accustomed to seeing it from the beginning.

PS: As others have mentioned, make sure you're building a list. Don't just build it, keep it warm with at least semi-frequent contact. Same principle as above, get people used to receiving your strong content mixed with intelligently presented marketing of products and services relevant to your niche.

Adsense is a good place to start just to get a few clicks here and there to generate some income. You might also want to look at ClickBank and there are tons of Youtube videos out there about how to get started with it.

Adsense might not be the way forward. I'd look into affiliate marketing too if I was you tend to be more profitable in more niches.

I'd say start advertising now. Don't be overbearing, just start with some lite advertising like in-content text links and ramp up from there gradually as your traffic increases. But whatever advertising strategy you implement, make sure is is targeted & helpful to your audience. This way it is not really advertising, but actually helpful recommendations for them.

You can start monetizing your site when you have one visitor per day. Or per month. The thing is to convince your visitor to buy your product. You get what I'm saying? It's not about size of your traffic, it's about your monetization methods, your skills to create a need for customer to get your product or service or whatever. In my opinion, if your goal is to make money, you can't even start a website or blog without having a detail plan on your mind how to turn it into real money. Goodluck!
