How do I start an online wireless store for Cell Phones!

I'm trying to figure out how to start an online store that would sell Cell Phones.

This would online only, NO retail store.

I tried looking online for information and it just seems to go in one big circle.

Where would I find this information?

Thanks, Tony.

I've seen Wordpress plugin's that you can draw from say Amazon or Ebay. That might be a easy way to do it? Sorry I can't think of one off the top of my head.

Sure some here can chime in with a solution.

Or am I missing what your asking?

Are you looking to stock your own cell phones, or are you looking to act as an affiliate for sites like ebay and Amazon?

I looked into this a few years ago and the rules/regulations in place by the major carriers (sprint, tmobile, verizon, att) made it really hard to get a 100% online cell phone store started, not to mention expensive. I would consider going the affiliate route, letstalk.com has a great whitelable program you should call them up and ask them about it.

    1. Product
    2. Website
    3. Promotions
    4. Customer support

    1. Do you have products to sell? Inventory? Dropshipping?
    2. Do you have a website? Ecommerce site? I would recommend a yahoo! store, they are reputable and your customers will spend more on a reputable site.
    3. Promote your business, this forum has millions of ideas
    4. Treat your customers right and they will become lifeline customers.

    Cheers,

Instead of making the sales for yourself - why not sale for the service providers off your website and take on some of the commission?

    Hello

Hamish Jones: "Are you looking to stock your own cell phones, or are you looking to act as an affiliate for sites like ebay and Amazon?"

I never thought about affiliate sales for cell phones, I was thinking along the lines of drop shipping. Thanks Hamish Jones.

That's interesting, I did not know that. It looks like the affiliate route.

I do have a website and blog, was looking to ad a store that is just cell phones to start. Never used Yahoo stores before, I will look into it. I do have a good eBay account, but lots of competition going on. Tried to find cell phone drop shippers, but no luck, mostly buy cell phone websites, ect...

I did come across Wirefly.com, but they only sell cell phones., I think their all online.

There is this Lightyear Wireless, but I think it's like an Amway type set up, it just has that feel to it.

I will check into this more as an affiliate, let you know what I find.

So are you trying to sell the physical product as in you have the product you want to sell it you want to ship it... Or are you looking at dropshipping? or affiliate sales?

If you are looking to sell the product yourself or dropship then there are several online store scripts that you can use. I frequently use OSCommerce. Its a free php based script that you can easily find templates for.

If you are looking for affiliate sales through ebay, amazon or where ever. You can try "http://storestacker.com/" Thats a good script and grabs from many different places with your aff id. You can also find plugins that integrate with wordpress to grab aff ids and place products for you.

Its just a matter of what exactly you want to do.

      Hi Tony6597,

Just as a suggestion and a person who is currently in Lightyear Wireless as of right now, I am not trying to sell you anything in particular. But for no obligations what so ever if you want to find out more about what Lightyear Wireless is about you can PM me if you want. If not that's ok too.

      Thanks,

  • Here are my 2 cents worth …
In my opinion you best be an affiliate rather than having your own stock. First of all you don't want to have the bother dealing with returns, repairs etc. of products under guaranty. Secondly, being an affiliate will spare you the expense of purchasing your own stock.
    Good Luck in your venture

    Hello Tony,
Your request for info on starting an online store is over three years old now. You may have moved on. I'm a new member to WF, so I'll just add my comment for you or anyone who is interested in starting their own online wireless store.

There are a number of companies that have used a network marketing model. Most have failed--Wow Mobile, Global Verge come to mind. Lightyear Wireless, ACN, and FHTM are three that seem to have weathered the storm and are still around. Others, like Vitel and Solavei (still in prelaunch), are trying their luck.

I've looked at the comp plans of most of the above companies and found that few can compare with Lightyear Wireless. I've been a rep for 20 months and have made decent money, not to mention I get free service.

The beauty of this model is you don't have to keep inventory, ship out the phones, do customer service, etc... You just gather customers and customer gatherers and you get paid.

If this concept is of interest to you or anyone else reading this, please PM me and I will fill you in on the details.

    Dave

PS: Lightyear has come "Lightyears" since it started 4 years ago. You really need to explore this option.

Ya, I'm in Solavei too. It definitely is a hybrid between Network Marketing (their "Path Pay") and 2-tier affiliate marketing (their "Trio Pay") I'm doing around 3K ++ per month already (it just opened up 1 1/2 weeks ago for real), but I killed myself to do it. Now it's an easier ride. You can find out more looking up all the videos I did on youtube by just searching "Todd Gross Solavei" and it should come up with a whole slew.
