Patience is the key and to keep with any program you're doing.

It's easy to see why the 'overnight success' thing has become such a common lure for newcomers to this business.

Let's be honest, if all the gurus tried to sell their stuff with a sales page that said ..."Work 25 hours a day forever, and you'll probably get somewhere with this simple, honest, proven system".

So naturally, your average product creator/marketer wants to make it sound a bit more appealing than a 25 stretch in San Quentin. And more often then not, let's be honest guys, our sales copy usually alludes to 'easy', 'earning big money pretty fast', 'internet lifestyle' etc.

And then, we contribute to threads like this to tell the world the San Quentin stretch is the easier of the two. It could almost be a bit hypocritical methinks. But I do it too

For something to work, in this case earning money online, offline or anywhere -- All relevant things should be simple for you, in my opinion...

Simple isn't necessarily easy. Simple isn't necessarily fast. A simple way to earn money may be something like this: -- Heads Up: Long Post! --

*** Create a product (a physical product, or a digital product like software or a Web portal, or a service package, or anything) that can serve as an effective solution for the immediate needs and urgent problems and obsessive wants of your target markets, problems and needs and wants that they can neither solve nor satisfy on their own;

*** Integrate additional benefits for your target markets into your product that can't be found elsewhere;

*** Slap a reasonable price tag to your product that'd be fair in the eyes of your target markets for the value that they can get from your product;

*** Implement simple, safe and secure processes into your point of sales establishments (including your Web properties) that can allow your target markets to quickly, easily, safely and securely purchase your product;

*** Integrate content materials and versions of your product and quick professional customer support contacting options into your point of sale establishments that can make your target markets think and feel that your company is a friendly and reputable expert resource of products and solutions with before and after sales benefits that can't be found elsewhere;

*** Develop hardsell and softsell marketing materials for your point of sale establishments that can instantly communicate to your target markets the benefits that they can get from your product and how your product guarantees to provide them with such benefits and why those exact set of benefits can't be found elsewhere;

*** Distribute your softsell and hardsell marketing materials across heavily trafficked places, offline and online groups / communities, websites and so on where your target markets hang out because they expect to find experts and like-minded people and content and products that can help solve and satisfy their immediate needs and urgent problems and obsessive wants; and

*** Track the results of your promotional campaigns, customer queries, after sales support performance and so on, in order to improve your company's back end and front end processes, products and promotional campaigns, and keep an eye out on certain avenues and markets that may be profitable for you to grow and expand your company to...

I was just going to add that "work hard and be consistent" sounds pretty simple to me.

As far as people wanting to "get rich quick" or looking for a "push button solution" goes; I've been supporting and helping IMers for over a decade and never once (truly - not once ever) have I ever heard anyone say they wanted or expected or thought it was even possible to "get rich quick/overnight" - not once. I've never heard anyone say they were looking for a push button solution or that they were not prepared to do what it takes to achieve some income off the internet. Seriously...not once.

As for things that are too good to be true goes; there are thousands of times when I thought that and in fact the reality was that it was true. I've done things in my life I never would have thought possible and all of them would have been placed in the "too good to be true" category. If something appears "too good to be true" then it's probably not "too good to be true" at all. Especially if it comes from a trusted source.

This thinking comes from one's own personal experiences and self doubt. It's something we tell ourselves often to avoid doing something hard or that would involve moving out of our comfort zone. I'm sure there are people who think that getting paid $1,000 a week in a job is "too good to be true"...especially if they're starving to live in $1 a day. It clearly is true but they just haven't got the experience to believe it.

Sometimes when things seem "too good to be true" it's not that they are too good to be true (many times they're actually true) but that what we believe to be true needs to expand to reality. I used to get the "seems too good to be true" on all sorts of things I was trying to explain that were true and were good.

Cliches, too many cliches. No one (in my experience) expects to get rich instantly. No one is expecting to find one button to push to get rich and no one doesn;t expect to work hard to achieve their dream of freedom through internet income. Every single person I've ever spoken to about this would settle with "possible if you work hard and study". Has anyone actually spoken to anyone who actually thought these things? I personally doubt it. If they do they are mentally retarded and really shouldn't be included in the poll.

I agree, it's obviously possible to make a living online in the comfort of your favourite surroundings and in many cases even making $100 a week online is "too good to be true" to a LOT of people. I'd say that making more than enough to live on is "rich" and if it takes anything less than the normal 45 year "work hard, save hard and retire broke" then in my book - that's quick enough.
