I need to know more about SSL

INTERNET MARKETING

I know SSL secures the connection and I know verisign is the most expensive, but I don't know why.

I don't know how to install a SSL. Is it hard? I don't understand the differences.

Can people shed some light and point me in a direction?

Well if you're accepting credit cards or sensitive personal information on your website then it would be a good idea to get an ssl certificate. Verisign is the most expensive but they aren't your only option. You can get one from godaddy for $13, but if you use an SSL certificate you will need a dedicated IP address from your hosting provider which isn't hard to get and most of them will be able to install it for you free of charge if you ask them.

Don't buy from Verisign! They're crooks!!!!! They've been raping people for years on domains, they hi-jack domains when you use their lookup and they're in bed with the government. It's a long story. Trust me; they've pissed off so many people in this industry it isn't funny. I'm one of thousands that refuse to EVER do business with that company again.

(After reading this back, I hope it isn't too negative of a vibe or breaks any forum rules. If so, please just delete it. I've just been burned so badly by that company. A lot of people have.)
