Picking a CB product based on gravity?

Hello fellow warriors!

I am just trying to pick a product on Clickbank. I already picked the niche, passionate about it, plenty of resources and everything looks just about right. (health niche)
But I stumbled across a product with a gravity falling in the last 30 days (42 to 33) and would like some advice from expert IMers. Is it a good idea to go for such a product?
I know gravity is just a indicator of how many people are making money and should not be taken lightly but it sounds a little off puting to see it drop from 42 to 33.

Thanks

Gravity is generally the first thing I look for, but remember, there is also a lot more competition there as well

It depends on what you're trying to do.

Just keep in mind that higher gravity does NOT make it a better product, or even mean that it's more popular. It just means more affiliates are promoting it.

But products with low gravity may still be very good products and convert well- they just have lower numbers of affiliates.

Very high gravity also means high competition. Products in the 15-80 range gravity have worked well for me.

I don't look for gravity at all. I don't really promote clickbank anymore much but do have old cb sites up.

What I do is keyword research on the product and I would rather have a moderate to sort of low gravity than a high gravity. Remember the higher the gravity the more the product is promoted and more competition for you.

I will even work a product with no sales yet if they send me a review and the product is good and the keywords are great. Those are the best ones.

I do not promote high gravity products in general (80 plus gravity) It all depends on the sales page and the product itself and the niche.

Read up on what the different metrics clickbank provides mean and you will be better able to use them.

Gravity alone shouldn't be the choice maker. Sometimes high gravity could mean its rigged - yes vendors do that to attract affiliates. For me I stay away from products that are above 25 and below 12. But at the end of the day there are other things like how good is the sales page, how good is the product itself, at what stage of the buying cycle does it fall under in a specific niche etc.that I also take into consideration.

High gravity seems to have a quality sales page... but if you have a list of people who like the particular product, you should be able to do well selling it.

If I understand CB stats, gravity does NOT in any way, shape or form indicate that a product is selling well. Unless something has changed, it just means that a certain number of affiliates have sold at least one item. So a product with a gravity of 50 means that 50 affiliates have sold at least one unit. It doesn't account for multiple sales so if a product has 3 affiliates each selling 100 units, you still end up with a gravity of 3. This is approximate, as I believe other factors may play into the gravity number, but either way, it doesn't indicate how well it sells.

Or a vendor with 50 sock puppet accounts bought 1 copy each through those accounts. Or a bunch of would-be affiliates bought review copies through their own links.

To my mind, the number became useless the first day after the first course included the line "sort by gravity" or "look for products with high gravity."

You are doing a good job by looking at the low end of the Gravity scale. Grvety is generally a BS number made up to try and influence people, but it means nothing. You are down in the range of low competition with that product. I would go a little lower, but I see no reason you can't do well with that one if yyou know how to promote it.

    Good luck.
