Squeeze Page OR Regular Website?

I have an excellent new eBook and I want to promote it with a website. I was thinking about doing a squeeze page, but I'm not sure because it seems that people find squeeze pages to look like a Scam. ( If you don't know what a squeeze page is, here's an example http://thecrapsprofessor.com/ )

Or should I just do a regular website, I dont know.

    I tend to trust squeeze pages that are promoted by people I know. My thinking is to try using solo ads and see how it performs

    It depends on the type of book really. Is it fiction or non fiction. If fiction I would say a website. More specifically, take a look at the following website:

    The Lorien Legacies - Science Fiction from Pittacus Lore

    A website like that really builds a platform for the book. If non-fiction, will it be one in a series kind've like the dummies books? If so I still stay a website is needed.

    How-To Help and Videos - For Dummies

    You definitely want a site for the customers that purchased the first book to purchase all the other books or learn about your other work. Something for them to bookmark and return to.

    Squeeze pages are alright but from a buyers perspective I will take out my wallet 100% faster for a website over a squeeze page. It just seems more credible to me.

    Then again... why not both?

    I don't think all people think that squeeze pages are related to scams. (Of course, many of them enter their secondary email address to protect themselves, but the rest of the visitors will use their best email.)

    Why don't you do both? Or you can start a blog and add a squeeze page plugin. There are many great and creative plugins out there.

      I would go both. If my product is really great and I belive it can help people then creating a blog as your home base or money site. Then complementing it by social media so that they can see you are for real and also an authority evnif you are just starting out. For the mean time have your squeeze page setup as well but ai know the spammy look for it which is why of you have those outlets like youtube, twitter blogs etc on that squeezepages where your audience can click and investigate, you are leaving them no chance to doubt your credibility then they will optin for your product or offer

    Test both and see what works. With a regular website you may turn away future buyers by not collecting email addresses up front.

    With a squeeze page you may turn away initial buyers who immediately get turned off at the sight of a squeeze page.

    Both methods will work, but the key is figuring out the effectiveness of each.

    Squeeze pages do work very well. I assume you want intelligent, loyal customers that will return for future ebooks if you have quality products. However, I would experiment with both options in different markets and see which one proves more effective. The squeeze page also doesn't have to be overglitzed and too much info as if you you're begging one to opt in. Your product and name will do the talking. Good luck.

    Why not just do both and don't worry about it. I have lots of products on regular websites and doorway or what we call squeeze pages for them also.

    If its a product you will be supporting for any length of time it will be worth it so you get that product on a site and ranked iin google.

    I personally think that having a squeeze page is a good idea but try to avoid too much hype in your squeeze page as it drives people away. Ensure your squeeze page literally stuffs value down people's throats and the sales will follow naturally

    There's absolutely no reason why you shouldn't use a squeeze page for something like this. Personally I like using LeadPages as all their templates have already been proven so I know they're going to convert reasonably well right off the bat.

    Make your visitors land on a squeeze page.

    Or you can add a popup opt-in in your main website.

    So basically, one set of visitors are coming through the squeeze page and another set are just landing directly on your website.

    I would do a regular sales page with an Aweber popover form set up for split testing. That way you get the best of both worlds. Don't forget the free gift before the one-time-offer.

    The example that you give for a squeeze page is more of a sales page to me.
    A good squeeze page should build curiosity and have a strong call to action
    compelling the reader to become a subscriber.

    Squeeze page is a better option to promote you ebook, also you can collect emails as well. To me squeeze pages can increase sales, bring new prospects.

    If you are purely selling an e-book then why capture a lead?

    If you are trying to build your list for free it might be a good idea to give that book as a means to garner trust and increase repeat sales.

    Personally, the digital products I create I promote through social media channels and mailing to my list.

    I build my list using other means including squeeze pages but to use one to sell an e-book sounds like a lot of work to me for something that can be as easy as appealing to your fans/followers who already know and trust you.

    Evidence shows that the reader is more intrigued and focused on a squeeze page than a normal website. If you use a normal website, there are a lot of peripheral elements that can distract the user from the exact thing you have built the website for, your sales pitch. I would suggest having a squeeze page for your product, and have a website which shows some credibility/builds up trust and reputation with the user. You don't people to think you are just constantly selling. Give some value through your website for free.

    You can do both. In your website add a box ( forgot the name) on the side of your site and say something like "free book, learn to blah blah blah, something like that" and put the image of your ebook.

    Now, also build a squeezepage and promote it buying solo ads so you can get direct traffic going just to your squeepage.

    I would suggest that you create a list with something free to offer related to your ebook with a squeeze page, and then, promote it to your list. Your list will ever be there, and you can promote some other related products.

      I would say test everything. As a possible suggestion, create a landing page that gives some value to your target market. Follow that up with an optin box or link to your optin page. Clickfunnels and instabuilder are great alternatives to WP or hiring a web-designer.
