Does an ebook of 6-8 pages worth $9 ?

Hi warriors,

I'm planning to create my own products, so my question is, Does people would pay for an ebook of only 8 pages for like $7-$9 ? Or they may request their money after discovering that the ebook has only 7 pages?

That is most likely not enough.

It would depend on the ebook though.

If you would sell next weeks lottery numbers with a 100% win or money back guarantee people would probably pay even more for just 1 page, even for 1 line.

It doesn't matter if the ebook is 8 or 80 pages long. The only thing that matters is VALUE.

I sold something called the "Angel Letter" once and it was only 1 page but had a specific purpose and thus, VALUE.

As long as the VALUE you're offering EXCEEDS THE COST to the customer, you should be good.

It's not too much to ask for $7-9 as long as the ebook gives them exactly what they want. Hell, it can be even be one page. Under $10 is not too much to ask.

Got to agree there, you can't really put a value on the number of pages you're offering.

Also, depending on your audience, one man's $9 is another man's $99 (sorry $97!). Who's your buyer and how much do they want that brilliant information you've got?

      Anyway, what you selling?

      Cheers

        Hi Caspoor!

One thing to consider is terminology. On some platforms, "eBook" implies an industry-standard length work that is simply presented as an eFile versus a print file.

One way to avoid confusion is to position it as a "product" instead. I rarely see typical IM products that are of the length you described called eBooks. They are "Guides," "Courses," "Reports," etc.

Other terms like "no-fluff" or "concise" are a way to indicate length in a positive light.

What others have said about the issue of price relating to page count is true: If what you provide is valuable and complete (to the extent that's promised), it's as long as it needs to be.

There are plenty of people out there who would prefer a 10-page report that gives them clear, actionable steps versus a 97-page guide that covers theory.

        Best of luck to you!

I agree with this. Even though I also believe in quality over quantity, I'd be a bit surprised to pay for something and find it was only 7 or 8 pages.

It might be worth addressing the length in your sales copy. Something like..."how this short 8 page document will change your life forever.."

This approach is bad right off the bat. Some people even using larger fonts to make their ebook (man, I already despise this word for some strange reason) have more pages. It's the contents that matters.

My best selling ebook on amazon is 11 pages. Quality is most important. I show 6 techniques that will get the user anywhere between $40 and a $120 each. I sell the book for $9.97 I get about one refund every couple of months. The thing is they can read the book in minutes and get a refund and still use the information. Just part of doing business.

    Regards,
Perhaps your content is not so good and you are trying to make a lot of money with a few pages. Everyone here is assuming that your 8 pages book is great, but I don't think it can be so good.

Why do you want to ask $9 for a short book?

I would be humble and test the waters with a lower price - in the beginning at least.

If you will see that you are selling your books, you can increase their price later.

Does your ebook teach me something new? If yes, maybe the price is right.
If it's just a rehash of content I've already seen dozens of times then it has no value for me. I'm not concerned about size. If you want my money you have to actually teach me something.

Depends. I think the vast majority of Warriors would have no problem paying $1 or even $10 a page if the information was of corresponding value.

    But how to define value?

The simplest thing you could do is spell out what your product is about. I mean that as literally as possible, like 'This 8 page ebook will show you how to design a classy Kindle e-cover.' You'll likely find the market is kinder to those who clarify what they are selling...

If you provide valuable information that one can be implemented easily then 6-8 page book should be good enough. Your focus should be on quality of information and not quantity.

Like others have said it all depends on the quality of the information the ebook holds.

For example if the 9 pages contained information that could help enable me to create another $10 a day income stream then it would easily be worth over $9.

So its really all about value and perceived value.

Back in 2011 i paid $9 for a WSO that revealed a niche i banked incredibly hard off of (made several grand). That pdf was only about 9 - 11 pages tops but in reality it was worth a lot more than that $9 to me.

But honestly you should test different pricing points to see what works best for you.

Maybe only disclose the price after they hit the buy button and get redirected to the paypal payment page. They could always back out if they wish, and if you get a lot of people clicking but not buying you know that particular price point isn't working.

Yes it would be worth it if the report is full of valuable information. $10 is really not that much, it's pocket change. Don't worry about placing a price on the product yet, focus on creating the best product possible, then slap a price tag on it.

If this really helps people sure is worth it

i had also been selling an ebook just of that price range having somewhere 12-13 pages

And people loved it as it helped them, and most of them thanked me for not adding B.S and getting straight to point,
Even they were asking when you will write next one
So it all matters in content if it works out it does not needs to be on 50 pages

Don't worry about the length of your ebook, just provide great value for the readers. If you reveal a new method or you give excellent ideas your readers can make money from, you'll be okay. (There will always be buyers demanding a refund when they see that the ebook has less than 10 pages, regardless of the content.)

It depends on what you are offering.

What kind of problem are you solving?
What kind of solution are you giving to your target market?
      Is your method "unique"?

It might be worth more than just $7/$9.

One day i saw an ebook of 3 pages sold at $10. I saw others of 8/10 pages sold at $97 and more so you are totally fine.

A lot of solid advice in here op. To me nothing is worse than grabbing a 100+ page report and realizing a quarter of the way through it that the author really has no idea what they're talking about. On the other hand, a few months ago I was able to acquire a 7 page white paper that has accelerated my growth in IM tenfold.

On a side note. Has anyone here listened to Kevin Trudeau's "Your Wish is Your Command"? That is the best trolling I've ever heard. It's a 10 hour infomercial of him bloviating about a secret society of millionaires you can gain access to. The entire paid product(The person I got it from said it wasn't cheap) is an upsell to a membership site. An amazing salesman, who could have been so much more.

Value counts, but here is the drill; it better be darn good to charge $10, because many $10 to $20 eBooks packed with value are 30, 40 or 60 pages long.

If you have Seth Godin type copy skills - ok a bit too much, but you get the drift - sure, your short and punchy, direct ebook without filler is worth a dime.

    All the best!

Ok, but 9.9/10 that is not the case.

If you had that type of information would you doubt your ability enough to ask people if it would sell?

If I had something that valuable there would be no question as to whether people will buy what I offer or not. Think about it.

    Regards,
Some of the best eBooks I've seen had been the shorter ones. I think it really depends on the purpose and topic. As long as the 6-8 pages eBook can convey and help the reader in what it has tasked to do I'd say it is well worth the $7-$9.

On the other hand there are some other topics such as search engine optimization that require detailed explainations so I find it would largely depend on the topic and the purpose.

It isn't uncommon for a simple make money online technique to be conveyed in 7 pages.

It all depends on the marketing and wrapping.
I would pay $10 for a case study - I would probably not pay $10 for a 5 pg ebook.

    See the difference?

When I played the stock market I routinely paid money for "case studies" (under 10pgs).

Lots of value in case studies.

Not so much in eBooks - psychologically we think BOOKS are big and full of words.

Case studies, Guides, Reports etc... - different expectation.

Contrary to what most believe, quantity of content is far less important than quality of content. Some of the best products I have ever read have only been 1-2 pages long. You can give way more value in 2 pages than a 50 page ebook.

In fact from my own experience what I tend to find is those products that are bigger tend to use quantity of information as a way to make up for their lack of quality of information.

Keep it short, simple and powerful. Your customers will love you for it.

Sadly it's not true with many. I used to get asked "how many pages is your instructional book?".....Not "does it show me this or how much profit can i make..."

The only thing they asked about is how many pages long it was.....baffling. Seems to be how many think.

Solve a problem, help someone transform their life in a direction they have an insane desire and you can definitely package enough value in 11-15 pages. Our first $47 ebook started at 35-pages, over time feedback from buyers helped us add more value until we split it into 3 guides each over 100 pages with a back-end membership site. The great part of this was each of the initial customers told us exactly what to add...became a natural evolution of our business and tripled profits within 12-months.

Starting out with a smallish guide, course or ebook is a good idea as long as it fulfills a hot desire.

  • It should be about the value, I agree. But people do expect certain things like a 9 page book costing less than a 300 page book, you know? Even a 300 page book of crap and 9 pages of gold, it's just a tricky situation. If you're selling on Amazon, then they should be able to see how many pages there are in advance, however not everyone looks. I'd be careful, maybe emphasize that it's quality but short. Or consider lowering the price because you'll probably make more sales that way. Experiment and see.

    No complaints from my customers

As everybody else already said, it depends.

    Just an example:

I have a friend who is a successful stock trader. He regularly sells hot stock picks,
which is basically a few lines of text, not even close to 1 page and he sells these nano
    reports for $197.

Again, it depends on the value you provide. That's it.

The audience you sell to dictates this.

High networth investors think nothing of shelling out $1k+, especially if that makes them $100k+ profits. Makes good sense to me.

I said to a guy last year i'll give you a stock to buy and sell if you give me 25% of your profits. He agreed. He paid me $15k last month. (TSLA recommendation) Now that's good business. But I new him, he knew me and we trust each other. Most of the time I'd be ripped off on such a deal.

      $9 for a ebook...do me a favour!

Broke, work from home, biz opp. seekers....$9 is like gold dust. You are wasting your time.

If you think that your material is worth more than your asking price, feel free to promote the heck out of it

If you're cutting through all the fluff with a step by step plan to make things happen, this small ebook could be more than worthwhile to the buyer. Another point to consider is how most higher quality ebooks (with more pages) are much more money, even three times that price. So maybe for a smaller ebook this is about the right price.

Well Quantity not matters . Which matter most is the value you are giving to your prospects ! I have seen e-book with only 5 pages worth 12 $ . Still it helped me so much that i made 100x from this. All what matter is quality

It's the value that you bring with the book that is important. Hopefully your giving 100 dollar value and selling it for only 9 bucks. This can be good if you are really over delivering and proving a ton of value.

That way when you sell your 800 dollar coaching program your conversions will be much higher.

The only important thing that the ebook should do is solve the person's problem or problems. Your ebook could be 100 pages or 7 pages, just as long as it does so.

If you tell people how to earn more than 9$ than it is worth it But the price really depends on how valuable this ebook is for your target group.

Basically, my rule of thumb is a penny per page. OK so I charge 99 cents for 99 pages or more. Kindle has 35% commission. That means 35 cents for each book I sell which is not a lot of money. I just bought a report that I paid $15 for and it was only five pages. Certainly, they need more content and I do not mean six pages. Sadly, there are a lot of reports that are very poor. Most are not worth the digital paper they are NOT printed on.

Does it properly solve the problem?

If so, it shouldn't really matter how few pages it is

Personally, I like writing short ebooks and reports

You get told exactly what you need to do, and nothing else

The easy answer is : put it up on amazon for 9$ and see if it sells. You'll have the answer to your question very quickly.

I don't think so. If the ebook gives the best information needed, then it's totally worth the money. And the person who's looking for the content you offer will be aware of this.
