      does it means that godaddy hates the coupon codes?

    Godaddy does not accept PayPal for many of the super-low special deals/coupon codes. Why would GoDaddy "hate" coupon codes that THEY publish????

    This happened to me last week. I used honey to get a good price and couldn't pay with paypal.. I tried to sign up for hosting and couldn't use paypal ... So I went to host gator and set everything up

    Godaddy has no problem charging my paypal for renewals or auctions I win but some reason I can't buy anything new with paypal so you're not alone here

      Not true. I buy new domains all the time with PayPal. Like I already mentioned, they don't accept PayPal for tiny purchase transactions. It's a financial issue quite similar to a brick and mortar business not accepting Visa/MC for purchases below a certain amount.

        I went to buy a 1 year hosting plan.. It was a 118 dollar order, and it still wouldn't let me select a paypal option. I am not saying its the case with everyone, but this doesnt compare to the 15 dollar cc min at a local liq store.

        I (Personally) cant buy anything new from godaddy with paypal (only renewals and Auction wins), why I am not sure.

    @dean20653...

    Agreed, your issue is different from the minimum purchase requirement at brick/mortar shops but your issue is also different from OP. The issue in OP is definitely due to the low price.

    If your coupon code makes your domain purchase as low as 2 or 3 bucks, the PayPal option will not work. You can pay via credit card though. Try a few different coupons until you get the lowest price where the Paypal option works again. Some coupon sites specifically state that certain coupons won't work with Paypal.

    I noticed this, too, when using coupons. I suspect that for $1.17 or similarly lower-priced orders, the PayPal fees might be too high for them to make profit. I don't know what the fees for merchant accounts are, but I know that for personal accounts there's a percentage + a fixed fee, something like $0.50. If that's the case, then it's clear: the fixed fee is kills their profit. You really can't blame them for that.
