Hi there everyone,

So, I have been registered for a long time here and have replied to a few threads but i am kinda new here.

These last few weeks, I have been trying to do Internet Marketing a bit more seriously. A friend of mine recommended Google Sniper 2.0 to me which I purchased. I am slightly dissapointed with it to be honest but it was cheap and I have learned a few things so that's okay.

Keyword research is a complete ball ache but anyway, I just wanted to just say hello and get a feel for the forum and start to learn more from you guys.

As far as my online marketing experience goes, i've dabbled is probably the best way to put it. I have tried to create an info product but never feel like it is good enough so I decided to do a bit of affiliate stuff and made a few hundred pounds over the course of the last 2 years.

I am passionate about health, fitness and combat sports and run a blog dedicated to that. I wonder if blogging is the way for me to find what I am looking for (an income i can live off comfortably)

I'm open to any and all suggestions so please keep them coming.
So yeah, hello everyone!

    Hi Fads,
It's a good idea to stick with something you know and are passionate about and blogging is a good way of building up niche traffic and ultimately income if you have a product to sell.
The only way to build serious traffic on your blog is to write content every day if possible as the search engines love fresh content. It also keeps people coming back to the site.

Hey Welcome to the community! My tip for you is not to get overwhelmed. Don't get in the mode to buy one product after another. Just stick to proven things which work. You already said you have a blog. Then okay take blogging a bit more serious. Mix some social media and video marketing in there and educate yourself.

If I had to do it again I would:

    1. Built my blog and my brand
    2. start building an email list right away
    3. providing massive value for my customers from day one
    4. start video marketing

I wonder if anyone read what you wrote? lol.. 'welcome to the forum' is strange to someone who's been a member for 4 years and asked a question, but anyway...

If you already have a blog in a niche you're passionate about, STICK WITH IT!

If you hate keyword research as much as I do, DON'T DO ANY! Start building a network on social media sites of people who are interested in your passions too, and just create content FOR THEM, everyday.

Will you be rich overnight? Not a chance. Will you build a following of people who are interested in your topic? Absolutely.

If you aren't building a list yet, it's time to wake up.

I'm sure you've heard a hundred times by now how important it is to have a list.

Take a look at your site right now, and ask:

    1. How Can You Improve It?
    2. How Can You Build a List With It?
    3. How Can You Increase Traffic to It?

I believe in the Keep It Simple Stpudid method. You have a niche, great. You have a website, great. You need to make it profitable now, work on that.

      Hi Fads,

Victor here made some great points!

I'd like to add few of my own:

      4. Stay away from shiny objects (those magic button instant wealth guru programs). You can earn quite nice money here, but you'll have to be focused and tenacious; in translation you'll have to work hard. But if you're passionate about it, well it won't be work then

      5. While creating your content, focus on quality not quantity. You don't have to post 5 blog posts per day to be noticed. Btw- Google is also quite smart lately so good content is promoted better.

      6. Create Fan page on Facebook and promote your content and other valuable content daily (links from other sites too). Quality content will always attract fans, no matter which niche or market you are in.

      7. Add Google+ authorship tags to your website and Google will love you forever, especially if you promote your posts on G+ also.

      8. Add signup forms (also known as call-to-action elements) to bottom of your every post and on right sidebar of your website. Visitors who like your content won't hesitate to sign up to your list ( and as Victor already said - money is in the list)

      9. Promote your quality content with paid ads. I believe your niche can be laser targeted through Facebook Ads (I could write 5 pages about this one)

+ BONUS TIP: Don't do keywords research, there are few experts on Fiverr platform who can help you with that for acceptable price. (just beware, there are also many scammers who don't know jack about words and keys )

      Good luck man...

That's great. Truly. The problem most IMers have is that they don't have something they can write about with conviction, passion and insight - or they just haven't been able to tap into that.

If you can produce well-presented specialised content then you can build an audience. And if you have an audience, you can make money.

There is a political blogger by the name of Andrew Sullivan who recently introduced a subscription model. At the end of his first year he had 'gross subscription revenue of $851k.' Of course, Sullivan is a national figure and has the big-time exposure that most don't. But it does show that people will pay for information from a source they like and respect.

And that is just one way you can profit from your knowledge. You can put up well-placed, well-tested affiliate offers. You can create a Kindle ebook about your chosen subject and use your recurring audience to keep it high in the charts. You can create an ecommerce store to complement the blog, selling essential tools of the trade. Hell, if the site gets a big enough audience you could even bank with Adsense. There are loads of options.

The key is to just build that audience. All the smart marketers get that; they are building lists and brands and authority websites, not spreading themselves thin with lots of tiny, fragile websites. Once the audience is yours, you can shake the pennies from their pockets indefinitely.

It seems like you've really got a great start....health and fitness is a great niche. Stick with it...and keep learning how to grow from there. I wouldn't give up on creating info products. They're a perfect complement to your blog business. Even if you have to outsource the writing or rewrite some PLR content, it would be worth your effort.

  • Hi Fads, welcome. I'm new to the forum as well. I've been doing internet marketing full time for 3 or 4 years but haven't frequented this forum much until recently.

In my opinion, I think you should try to figure out how to monetize your passion first, and if it absolutely looks like it won't work out, then turn to the world of affiliate products, network marketing companies, etc.

If you can be passionate about what you do, it will be so much easier to put in all the focused energy necessary to build something of significance. If it's just about the money, you can still succeed, but it will be a longer more difficult journey.

Since you have a blog already, may already have regular readers, and are already acclimated to that space, it may be easier to think of ways to monetize what you already have going there, than to try to do something completely new.

Not sure if any of that makes sense or helps

I've always been into martial arts as well. If you get the chance, PM me your blog.

    Good luck!

All good advice here. Learn as much as you can, but take action in the process. It all depends on what your goals are..(hint...you should have some)

With the amount of info on the net and experienced people, you can literally find good, proven money-making strategies for any level you want.

You want money within the week....you're covered

You want money within the month.....we got ya'

You want money today...there's something proven for that

The key is that you have goals and you're focused, using something that is proven.

You don't have to get it right at first, just get it going!

Welcome and I'm sure you'll benefit from everyone's input thus far.

My sentiments are much the same of the others. You have a great platform to build from and more importantly monetize from. Many thousands of people are earning a good living through blogging.
The best part about your story is you have created a blog and it revolves around your passion - the more passion you have, the more chance you'll succeed because it will be a pleasure for you to wake up every morning and write about a topic you love.

    2 things;

    1. Best way to monetize is to start building a list of your readers/followers - you can then keep selling to them whether they be your products or someone else's (affiliate marketing)
    2. keep going on creating your own product.

    Good luck!

  • Welcome to he forum. You're actually on the right foot by starting with something you know and you're passionate about. Making money with what you love is often easier from earning a living from something you hate.

Now that you have a niche that you love, I think you could give affiliate marketing another try by looking at products you already use and love.

Advertising is also a good option.

Basically, try to build multiple income streams from your blog and study what works for each one. Little streams of income can turn into big money if you're willing to do the work.

You have a blog that's a start. Add to it daily targeting keywords 3 or 4 times a week in a niche you're passionate about.

You sound like you can do that, you have a good writing voice already. Put it to use religiously and you'll end up with an authority blog before the year is out.

The main thing is never ever feel like something you do is never good enough. If it has holes or flaws, fix them but never start letting negative mindset creep in.

    Hope that helps

Sticking with what you know is a very good idea, as someone else stated above. Your interests seem to have commercial value on the internet so I'd say you can make money blogging about that.

Just need to know how to monetize it
