Large Pictures to PDF

I am trying to figure out how to include some very large pictures in a pdf e-book but the catch is that I need to leave the pictures the original size. This means that they are going to spread over multiple pages which is fine but everything I have attempted to date scales them down to fit on a single page. Any ideas?

Thanks

    Good question!

Could you cut the pictures up into more manageable chunks ad paste one bit on each page or would that cause too many problems?

Alternatively is there a way you could upload them to the internet and then link to them directly from inside the ebook?

    All the best,

Thanks. I have actually thought about that but the only way to do that would be to print them the actual size, cut them manually and then scan them again but given the fact that I do not have a scanner and I have over four hundred pictures that I am talking about, it is definitely something that I hope that I can avoid. Linking to the internet with my limited skills would definitely lead to products being stolen even more than my ebooks and the products are difficult to sell at best so giving them away may increase my visibility online but would not do much for my wallet.

I definitely appreciate the feedback though.

    Thanks

Could you watermark them and put them in a membership site?

Actually, I really need them for the ebooks for the marketing I am going to try (next LOL) but please, keep the ideas coming.

If you have Photoshop/ImageReady try this:

Use the Slice Tool to divide up the picture into as many segments as you have pages you want to spread the picture across.

Then open the file in Image Ready (if you haven't done so already) and save the optimized image. Save both the images and HTML to your desktop.

Go to the desktop and open the "images" folder that ImageReady has just created. In it, you'll find a jpeg file for each slice you've created. All the images will line up perfectly, so all you have to do in import them onto a separate page in whatever software you're using to create your PDF (Adobe Acrobat, say).

You'll have to do some careful measuring, and it may take a bit of practice, but it should work.

It looks like that would work but with over 400 images and an average of six pages for the "small" versions I am hoping to avoid that if possible. LOL It does look like it would work if I have no other choice though.
