Sales/ squeeze page question..

I posted this in the wrong thread by mistake I put in the PPC thread... Anyways

So I have a site about flipping websites. It can't be used for anything else really because if the name. I bought it with intentions in building a sales page and squeeze page for flipping sites.

Let's call it domain1.com

I am a bit confused on what way to set it up and was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on "my plan"

Domain1.com <will be the main sales page>
.... Will contain up sells , downsells, OTos etc

But I also wanted to get emails from the same catagory (I'll promote the link differently)

So I want to set up a squeeze for a free report on

Domain1.com/report/
With the opt in they get report, email tips, and the sale pitches of the relating products I have (on the .com)

Does this sound right? Or should it be reversed? And the squeeze be in the .com and the sales page at like domain1.com/product/

Feedback is appreciated. And that will be all that is going on this domain (sales page , OTOs, and squeeze page)

Well you say it can't be used for nothing but flipping but are you including the sub niches. Can it be used for consulting on flipping, a book on flipping ect.

Now to the rest of your question.
Most my sites are set up with main page in the public_html root folder. So blank.com is the index sales page.
Then all my squeeze pages are usually in folders one on there own.
This way I keep all products separate.

I also use folders for all separate parts.
So squeeze page one blank.com/product1 ect and that is a separate wp site.

My downloads go on another server an domain with a locking system to protect it.

main folder should be the sales page
squeeze page should be any folder you want

the reason you should do this is because if they later decide to get your product in the future (as a returning visitor) its easier to remember the .com. And it requires less actions to buy if they are considering your product.

Hey Eric,

I would use the .com for the main page. You will want to test different squeeze pages, landing pages, different campaigns, etc. You want your main site to be the anchor. Do all your promotion and testing behind the scenes.

Of course you'll want to split-test sales pages as well.

Hey everyone thanks for the replies. I thought I was planning right just wanted to make sure.

Nick thanks for the advice about protecting the goods. I was thinking about using ejunkie for that. As far as the domain it's called flippa funds (and it was for an ebook about how to flip websites) .. It's a PLR that I added to since I'm not an expert but shhh :-)

Action your reasoning behind doing it this way is great and I like it. Thank you very much

Brent, thanks for chiming in here. It seems everyone is in the same page about the setup and as far as testing goes I'm kinda new to it so I was considering using optimizely at first but really need to figure out a good way to A/B test sales pages and squeeze pages

Suggestions for that are appreciated as well lol but again thanks for all the answers everyone.

Your welcome and flippa funds could be used for flipping websites, houses, cars, boats, brick and mortar businesses ect. It can even be financial on how to get funding to flip houses. YOu have alot of options and could use one or many in sub folders.
