I am new. Not SUPER new, but new enough that i haven't done very well. BUT, i have tried my ASS off...still no results... I saw a post (and some answers) that said maybe i should try and find someone who was willing to kind of mentor me, help me out, get me started?

Every time i think i have figured something out, i find myself going even farther backwards trying to learn something else. I did this for a while and realized holy crap! i am starting 2347293847 projects, and not finishing ANY of them! Thats when i hit this hole i am in now. I feel like crying. BUT i don't want to give up! I have been trying for a little over a year now, and this seems SO MUCH up my alley....i want it so bad i can taste it...I tried to find help in a few other forums, they were NASSSSSTY!! SHEW! I can't even begin...

Anyway, im so close, but so far from my goals and dreams.... if someone could just help, i don't even know where to begin to get out of this hole.... Should i NOT be doing affiliate marketing? Seems overrated and absurdly saturated... BUT there has to be a way..and im not talking about pennys--im not talking about becoming an overnight millionaire by any means either, just want to be able to jump up and down by SEEING results and knowing i am headed in the right direction. Everything and everyone in a search result wants to sell me something else.

Well, i have spent my LAST dollar on all that crap that doesn't work...not to mention all the bank problems, and bounced fee's from gettin charged again and again....DONE!! Please, someone find it in their heart to help! I'd never be able to thank you enough for helping me and my family out!! i just dont know what to do anymore...give up?! I CANT!!

Are you for real. Don't play with us.
You write very well, you need to format it better into paragraphs but you tell a story and that is good.
I don't see why you can't make it. Just stick to one thing then master it, when you have it mastered move to something else.

And to make sure your not playing, put links to the threads you made in other forums. I want to see them. I'm not going to help unless I know I'm not being played.

Agree !! Not focus is our biggest problem in IM.

why it's so hard to focus? usually because we wanted to get great results in a short time.

In the end only be a waste of time and money. Even a child need time to be able to walk and then run

Don't give up! I was in the same place back in 2003 - 2004... I know what you're going through and I know what you're feeling...

You're feeling excited but also unsure... frustrated but wanting so badly for something to happen, a consistent income.

The key here is to not rush it... don't try to force something to happen... come up with a plan... and work it.

Read this forum... look at the many different business models out there and think about which one you'd like to pursue.

Affiliate marketing is a good one. Combine it with list building and you'll be headed in the right direction.

In this industry... it's easy to jump around from one thing to the next... but don't do it. You've got to stick to just 1 or 2 things... put in daily effort... even when you don't see anything happening, keep on keeping on.

If I gave up in 2003 after 1 year of frustration, I wouldn't have busted through to a business that I now love... to a place where I can pretty much do anything I want in life. So you're headed in the right direction, but you've got to stick with it and come up with a plan... then work that plan consistently.

Stop learning and start selling is the only way to make money online. You have to stop buying programs unless they help you to the next step. I've had same frustration.

I am seeing that frustration is usually coming from people who are trying to make money online for FREE... Not understanding that FREE methods take a lot of work and time...

I would suggest to you to save up some money from a job and invest into your business. If you are trying to make money the free way then know it's going to take hard work and a lot of time.

      Ill save you some time.

The way people are making money on this forum are:

      1. Having their own product or affiliate marketing with high payout.
      2. Mastering 1 form of traffic generation.
      3. Having a Squeeze page.
      4. List building.
      5. Becoming an authority.

      Those are the big ones.

List building is the key to wealth online.
Becoming an authority is the key to selling your own products
You need a squeeze page to build a list

      Best free traffic
      YouTube creating videos
      Social Media Traffic

The Very BEST Traffic is PAID Traffic
      Solo Ads
      Banner Advertising

Paid traffic is the best because you can
get traffic quick - send to a squeeze page - split test and tweak for better conversions.

I am not rich online yet, but this is what I am focusing on.
My frustration was trying to do free things.

Hard to make money without investment

You have to invest in your business.

The more you can invest the better your success.

First off i have never made any claims that IM is my main business, in fact i have been and still am primarily a B&M business owner.

I deal in facts and reality. When it comes to MMO there are far too many people living in a fools paradise, constantly having to reassure themselves and others that "If you believe", "Have faith", "Never give up" you will eventually make it. Unfortunately none of those pay the bills.

There is money to be made and there are people making money, BUT NOT EVERYONE.
I have had business failures in my life, did i just keep on plugging at the same thing even though it was clearly not working, NO, if something was not working i shut it down and tried something else.

So, telling someone to keep at the same thing indefinitely even after constant failure just does not make sense.

Yes, just like being a doctor, a police officer, a teacher etc is not for everyone so is MMO...

Well faith in a practical sense will motivate you to persevere, and that is a key aspect of business success.

I am sure you needed to have faith that your concrete ideas were going to work.

There is a known problem that can occur and prevent any formatting of posts.

Biggest problem is - I can't remember exactly WHAT caused it.

I think it was Firefox - and might have been solved by upgrading Firefox.

Also try logging out of the forum and back in or use IE and see if that works.

Once a person commits to something for 21 straight days, it literally causes physical alterations to the grey matter in their head, creating impressions or "grooves" of sorts. If you can get passed that initial arduous hump of feeling futile and overwhelmed, you're on the road to eventual success. If you get to that initial 21 day mark by turning to religion, that's great, but that's not to say it is exclusively because of it.

Agreed ... The notion that everybody can do well online if they just "believe" or "take action" is nonsense.

It's no different to the fact that not everybody could be a brain surgeon, or a CEO, or a lawyer.

I think more people would do well to realise that there is money to be made in the "real world" as well (especially with the growth of the shadow economy etc)

Internet marketing requires an ability to fail, and fail hard. I've failed so many times I've lost track ... I spent 2 years trying to make money online with 0 profit. I know others in the same boat.

If you really find IM so hard, then look at some offline business options. Or up skill and get a dreaded JOB; there are still some jobs out there I would happily trade all my IM earnings and skills for.

Start by cancelling EVERY subscription based service you're a part of.

You don't need an autoresponder if you don't know how to use it.

You don't need web hosting if it's costing you money.

Then create a Kindle book & sell it.

You can write it for free, list it for free, and get a decent ebook cover for $5.

After it's up & ready to promote, make it free for 2 days & promote it on as many "Free Kindle Book" pages. You can find lists upon lists of pages where you can promote your free Kindle books.

Forget about keyword research. Forget about solving problems. Just write a book you enjoy writing of around 30 pages or so. Tell a good story and entertain people for a little while, just like you did here. Except, use paragraphs.

You can find a boat load of people who review Kindle books on Amazon. If you don't know where, do a google search for Top Amazon Reviewers and you'll find it.

    There ya go.

You've got all the know how you need.

Write a story or create a report. Post it for free on Kindle & promote it.

If it doesn't work and you're not making $100/mo from your first book, do it again. And again. And again. And again.

Eventually you'll either get lucky or all your hard work will add up.

Just imagine if you'd been creating content and selling it for the last year instead of buying products and supporting other families instead?

You don't need to buy anything at all, you need to create the content other people are consuming.

So if it's really something you want, prove it to yourself and your family. Not people on a forum.

If you want it, it's there waiting on you. Will you pick it up?

No offence, but you are having real difficulties... (bank problems etc).

Perhaps it's time to get a real job? .. and for god sake, stop buying those worthless products. If someone says "Hey, buy my product for $39 and I teach how to make thousands per month?" - Do you believe it? I don't.

... and later, start trying IM again.

Most of people fail, probably more than 99%.

There IS the War Room, which could be helpful. There are also countless posts giving information and help - just use the search feature.

You can write ok, so start there. Just separate the paragraphs because that block took a lot of reading. Stop buying, start writing and selling maybe?

Affiliate marketing is not difficult, mostly people start in IM with affiliate marketing even I started this way, You should keep your focus on one project and learn everything about it, traffic generation, list building are essentials in AM, if you understand them good you can earn decent amount in that start and you can later explore more fields in IM.

I suggest you start doing freelance writing job so you can gain back some money.
    Good luck

Thanks for all the answers! It makes me feel a little better knowing that i AM headed in the right direction, just getting scared about a few things seems like! I apologize for the length of my post, i was upset and ranting! I really didn't realize it was that long! This place is AWESOME i wish i would have found it long ago! My name is Christy, by the way...from Florida, STUCK in Indiana!!

As far as me wasting my money on other peoples products...i thought i was helping myself, ya know? Paid learning, vs. trying to separate the good, the bad, and the ugly of IM on forums and in answer pages. I was very wrong. They are super SNEAKY! I had bank issues, because i wasn't aware that they were slipping in recurring charges and such! I was a sucker, admittedly. As far as posting the HELL i went through on other forums, i can tell you that i tried the KingHumanElite thing, as well as BHW...they have a chat thing through something called mibbit? Something like that...anyway i was called a bitch and all kinds of things, because i didn't want to do make up tutorials on youtube.

Everyone just pretty much made fun of me for being there, and it was just a terrible experience. (that i honestly would LOVE to NOT relive lol) I do love to write, but i am in love with setting up websites and trying to see what i can do! It's a rush i think! Also, i watched the lazyassstoner thing on youtube, and he seemed to put everything into a perspective that made me feel like i could just do exactly what he said, spread my own wings and GO! I found out that he left all the really important stuff out. LOL :/

Anyway, thank you SO much for all your help!! I know I can do this...I got laid off....so i tried my hand at this before i go back to work (there are MOUNTAINS of snow here!) Oh, and a big apology to those who think i was faking it. I assure you i am not, i just didn't know where else to turn. I am glad i came here! I want to be an active member, and one day maybe BE the one who helps someone who was once in my shoes. No more projectpayday, no more IM gurus, its just me, my pockets, and this forum! I'm sorry but did anyone force you to read the OP's post? If you don't like her grammar then don't read it. It's that simple. It's pretty pathetic you have resort to putting her down just to make yourself look better than her. She's in a terrible place, she's struggling, and the last thing she needs is for some "Self Proclaimed Gurus" putting her down.

        Not cool. Just saying.

It is not putting her down to suggest ways she can improve her presentation to maximise her chances of success. I call that constructive criticism.

If more people gave honest constructive criticism rather than bland 'it'll be alright' pats on the back there might be considerably fewer failures around.

Unfortunately most people don't want "honest constructive criticism" they would rather have the fairy tales and happy endings ....

Nicely said. Its better to let her know her flaws so she can correct it and make it better. What most people said here, are said not to bring her down, but to give her honest notes so she can make improvements. It is better to do it that way, than let her continue with the mistake and let the entire warrior forum community see her that way.

To the OP, keep on working on improvements. You can do it one at a time. By doing that, you'll get better each day, and soon, you will be in the place where you want yourself to be. Just believe in yourself.

Hey Biitchcakes (I'd much rather have used your real name than that btw),

I've included below a reply from another forum member here on WF who responded to another newcomer in exactly the same situation as you are right now.

The post was offered by Paul Flood, so credit for the answer is his - not mine.

This was some time ago - years in fact - but the message is timeless, and goes a follows ...

            ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I just read your post and can definitely relate.

Rather than say I have great advice to give you, I have some questions for you to ask yourself because what I observe is your need to evaluate some of your core beliefs.

After reading your posts, it's very obvious you have the intelligence and knowledge you need.

More knowledge is not the answer. From early childhood, we are taught we need more knowledge so we go to school and are told to learn more so we can be "successful."

We spend the first couple decades of our life going to school to learn more.

Suddenly, we've graduated from high school and need to go to college to learn more.

Of course, to really know enough, we should consider grad school!

            See a pattern here?

We get "real world" jobs and become disillusioned... "Is this why I spent 15 years of my life in school?"

The search for something better begins and we stumble upon internet marketing. It seems rather simple at the beginning, and it actually could be but...

There's a voice inside the head saying, "You know, you're really not good enough, you're probably going to fail at this."

The problem is, that voice is the voice of 'Knowledge'. That voice is not speaking the truth but it's the only one we hear.

To avoid the pain of failure, our ego kicks back into a mode of protecting itself from failure. How does it do that? By telling you more 'knowledge' is the answer. So we buy more shiny objects and accumulate more knowledge.

You see, if you're spending your time learning instead of acting on what you know, you can't (put yourself in a position to) fail.

The problem is that by avoiding the fear of failure, we're withering away on the vine.

Deep down inside all of us, the truth is trying to claw it's way to the surface through the barriers that the ego has erected.

So what is this Truth? In my opinion it's this:

            "You know enough."

If you've been at this for so long and the last 2 years are worse than the first two, realize that additional knowledge is only making it worse.

If you find yourself about to click the "buy now" button, turn off your computer for five short minutes and write down why you need the new shiny object, how it fits into your business and why you have to have it now.

If we were farmers, would we need to keep learning new ways to farm or get out in the fields, in order to reap and sow?

You know enough and it's time to head out to the fields. Start simple.

Don't try to plow the entire field at once.

Do it one row at a time.

Don't start another row until you finish the first one.

The harvest will be rather weak if you have fifty rows, each partially planted with a different crop."

            ---------------------------------------------------------------------------

And that's the end of the response. Could you get some value from this?

I'm pretty sure we all could. Speaking personally, when I was at this stage (many of us are, at some point) I took a look at my field and decided that unless I get my shit together it was going to be a pretty lean harvest.

            I hope it helps

            Paul

I have so many questions still, but for now will put this amazing information to use!!
The best way I learned (and what I'm doing right now) is:

      (1) Look at all the hungry markets/niches... are you knowledgeable and skilled in any of them? If not, then take some time to study and learn from them. It doesn't have to be long... a few weeks to maybe 2-3 months should be good enough (heck... I know of some trade schools that offer "certifications" for just a few days of study).

      (2) Create a product (an e-book is probably the easiest) and offer a certain number of free copies in exchange for testimonials and/or critiques and suggestions for improvement.

      (3) At this point, one of three things can happen after they take your free offer: (a) Offer a testimonial, which you can use to put in your sales page as "social proof", (b) Offer a (sometimes bad) critique or... (c) Not offer anything. Not much you can do with (c) and hopefully, you won't get too much of those...

      (4) If they offer you a bad critique, it can be good because this is the audience's way of telling you what they want and what they're looking for. Note: I'm a part of a writing group (geared towards creative writers, but most of us are screenplay writers) and one of the members made a comment about looking at any bestselling fiction currently on Amazon... they will all have bad reviews... yes... even Hunger Games (What??? There are people who hate "Hunger Games"??? Say it isn't so ;-)!!!). Use the critiques to improve your product if you feel it's appropriate.

      (5) You now have created a product the audience wants (hopefully). Now, all you have to do is put it out there, get the attention of the hungry market and make it stand out among all the other products and catch their attention.

From my experience, usually if your not making sales, it boils down to one of two things:

      (1) The product/service. Either it's a bad product or you created something the audience is not interested in or...

      (2) The marketing. Either their not noticing you or they do, but your offer is not standing out among the crowds of other products.

      Hope this helps.

Did you mention you were good at writing? Perhaps you can offer article writing services, if not here, then e-lance or o-desk or freelancer. Also, since you mentioned you're good at writing... I'm assuming you may be good at researching ?

        Here are some ideas...

        (1) You can put together an e-book that teaches people how to research and write fantastic articles.

        (2) Since you mentioned in one of your posts that one of you can write fast and your articles got accepted into i-writer out of a whole bunch of articles (I think you said something like 15... I have to look back), you can leverage that achievement and market your services with a headline that reads like this:

"15 Article Writers Got Their Articles Rejected By I-Writer (One of the Most Prestigious Writing Sites Around). Only 1 Got Accepted... I Was That One. If You Get Your Articles Written By Anyone Else, You Risk Hiring One of Those Fourteen Bums... This Is What Makes Me Different..."

Of course, I'm just brainstorming here...

        (3) Again, leveraging what you said about you being a "fast" writer, you can leverage that angle. "How Long Did It Take For Your Last Article Writer To Deliver Your Articles... And How Was The Quality?" Could be your marketing angle.

By the way... speaking of article marketers, I'm surprised many of them don't offer a free report that says something like, "Top 10 Things You Need To Know Before You Hire An Article Writer", make it informative and then in the last chapter, you can tell the custoers about your services and how you are different (without being too salesy, of course), or just leave a note near the end with your contact info and web page... and then offer resell/giveaway rights to that free report.

        (4) Web and blog designers are usually looking for content for their clients website... go up to a web designer and ask if they are satisfied with their article and if they aren't do a JV with them or better yet...

        (5) Contact the owner of that website and ask them if they are satisfied with the content on their site. Let them know how important content is on their site. Tell them how you can improve the content on their site (assuming you can). Here, you're going more along the lines of a "consultant".

To me, at least, the hardest part is to get that first testimonial or that first "achievement" (e.g.: Writing award) or even those first few sales on your resume'/portfolio...

But judging by what I read, it seems you already achieved that by getting your article accepted...

Now, you can just leverage that.

Just some suggestions. Hopefully, this helps.

    Still no paragraphs?

Think of something of value that you can genuinely offer others and work that into your repertoire.

That way, you can make money and still have a clean conscience that you are not just out to leech off hard-working people (as you've experienced for yourself).

Incidentally, this is usually the best, most sustainable way of making money from home.

First take a few days off. Go somewhere and reflect on what you've learned, your strong point and weaknesses.

Then figure out what you want to do. Everyone says you should to all this ridiculous keyword research and pick some nonexistent low competition niche with hungry buyers and all the rest. That's BS. Pick something to market you know and like and stick with it. It's not going to happen overnight. Once you have success with something you know you can try some other market.

You probably won't like this much but you need to hear it. Lose the stupid Bitchcakes handle. I wouldn't for a minute take someone with a name like that seriously. Another thing, you write fairly well but much of it looks like a freakin' text message. Break your thoughts into short paragraphs (rather than huge blocks of text) and stop with the lower case i everywhere. If you want to be taken seriously, then show it.

You might not think this stuff is important but people are going to judge you on it so always do your best to come across as a pro. Right now you're not.

You can do this. Good luck.

What's with the forum name - the suck this and ass that?

You want to do business - start talking like you are in business.

Use the edit to make paragraphs or change the browser you are using. I've had that "no paragraph" myself at times and changing the browser worked.

Tell people what you HAVE done - and how long you've done it - and then you might be able to get some answers you can use.

I am using MF for my browser, IE seems to be nothing but pop ups anymore, but I will try maybe switching to Google Chrome. Thank you, thank you ALL for your input it is so greatly appreciated! In regards to the "LazyAssStoner" name, I found him on YouTube, and he was able to pull me out of my last rut. I have already submitted a ticket for name change. This forum is SO different from others, and I love it!

My first site is kind of embarrassing, but you are all more than welcome to look and critique. I was going for the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" approach, got greedy, and got my butt handed right back to me! Gonna keep this short til I work out the bugs! The site, I have pretty much abandon. The blog, not finished. It was my first attempt, with a hard fail. I am so embarrassed to do this but here goes: Waycoolsaintpatricksdaygear.com

I am blushing with embarrassment, and you all have not even seen it! Terrible... As for the blog that I started, I have not finished it because I am waiting to hear why my links are not working. I will not be surprised if you can't find it, it wasn't searchable in Google all day yesterday. I am also waiting for a reply back for that as well. Like I said, it's terrible, but I am trying! biitchcakes.blogspot.com I chose this name because names like this seem to work well for some on YouTube, as well as the Cooking Channel, etc. I thought it was offensive, guess I was right! Thanks again!!! >>>>Going to fix paragraph issues NOW!

Sometimes I search products for reviews and if a blogpost comes up I'll click to see what the author thought of the product. Your waycool blog gave me a flashback to oldfashion bannerfarms. Clicking on a post gave me just a salepitch.
How you surfed other blogs for ideas and inspiration? Maybe you could go back and make yours a little more personable since you've already put in all this work.

The blogspot blog is gone. Did you take it down?

I started to be more personable, and then it just got 'sales pitchy'. I agree. It's super inconsistent! Terrible, I know.

As for the blogspot blog, I wrote two pages, Blogger deleted it. They said I was spammy? Weird, I guess you can't offer 50 ways to make money online with affiliate links? I really don't know. I worked really hard on that too, so it was disappointing. Again though, I am still learning!

Mark, I was applying the "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" approach. I was only mimicking some of the other blogs on ways to make money. I won't go into details because I may decide to do it again with WordPress, but it was really cool I thought! For all kinds of people, with different loves for different things. Writing, photography, etc. I just surfed til I found the ones I found exciting! Hell, I don't even own an iPhone, but that was in there too!

The problem I see is that that system IS broken in many cases but not all. What I mean is that people sell or share how to make money products that have never made money doing what they are sharing.

So someone comes along and downloads this great report or buys this special deal to learn about how THEY can make money too.

When it doesn't work they go and try something else and then something else and then something else.

That goes on until they wind up quitting or posting on here about how they are broke even though they've tried X, Y, and Z to make money.

Can you relate at all to what I'm saying?

              Mark

YES! That makes too much sense! I tried that for the first, idk, say 4 months? I became so frustrated I slammed my laptop shut and refused to touch it for about 2 months, lol!

I just didn't know what to blog about I guess? I researched each money making method to see if they worked for other people, before I passed on the information though. I did put some work into that, it was such a let down when they deleted it!

Thanks to all of you, I know I want to help others succeed. That's what I love anyway, helping others. Can't get enough of it! It makes me feel great inside!! So, I can help others succeed by writing or providing SEO help, than I can kill 2 birds with one stone...

Lots of help and info here for you Christy!

Just dont get overwhelmed again. Find a goal and stick with. Dont be a jack of all trades and a master of none.

For example, If today you took action to Watch a video on how to properly build a blog or site then focus on that. Then you will be able to help somebody else how to make a site. That is already miles ahead of millions of beginners in the niche.

Create a schedule and step by step approach into your ultimate goal.

Never learn eveything at once and multitask. Frustration is right next to quitting. You need to also follow the footsteps of successful entrepreneurs and listen to their videos at least a few minutes every morning if you have to (tony robbins, robert kiyosaki, napoleon hill, frank kern etc) to help your mindset into a positive progressive vibe.

Take a break once you completed your small goals and enjoy your time with who you are doing this for, your children and family.

Then you will feel supercharged to work again and create a lifestyle you and your family deserves.

    Hope that helps.

Hi, Christy. I've been in the same boat. Here are the things I've learned:

      1) Don't look for the magic bullet. It doesn't exist.

      2) Build relationships. It's crucial if you want to succeed in IM.

      3) Give value. Help people solve their problems and get what they want. Be golden, and you'll get a lot of gold.

      4) Believe in yourself even when others don't.

      5) FOCUS and finish what you start.

      I wish you the best.

Hello b-cakes, love the name btw. I'm not sure if I can help but the way you described your experience i sure can relate.
I started in your exact predicament back in 2009. No job, no income, no self esteem and pretty much nada on all counts. I was sooo down I thought i contracted down syndrome, lol.
Aside from all the downers there was one redeeming quality about me. I don't quit for sh#t. and with that in mind I stuck at it, even though I sucked at it.
After I figured out the lies, scams and buy my program crap i figured out something profound. Their system is to make them money, and they were doing it forcefully.
That's when I decided to do things my way. With care and focus on the things that really mattered to the people I wanted to affect.
With no IT background and no coding or programming skills I decided to create a fashion directory to make shopping experiences better. Big call right? It's now 2014 and I'm on the verge of launching this thing.
      Did I mention I didn't spend a cent.
It's not gonna cure aids but I'm happy with what I've accomplished so far, if anything the concept is solid, my execution needs polishing but hey i'm only one man. In time who knows..

      ROCK&thread Fashion Directory

Right now if 100 people showed you 100 methods that worked, You'd probably do 80.
But which one are you great at?
In real life I'm good at getting things to people that need it. So I do that online.

          YES - you did it.

That's the approach you have to take in IM - if something doesn't work you have to figure it out and either make it work or find a way around it.

Thank you! I love the way you put this. I just feel like the whole concept of marketing, mixed with the endless possibilities of the internet=right up my alley! I also just found out that my 50 ways to make money article was deleted by blogger, they said i was spamming?! I hadn't even FINISHED it, much less promote it, lol. I guess my links to the site looked spammy? Idk, weird. You are an inspirational person. Thank you so much!

Might I suggest that if that article is true and adds value that you apply it first before sharing it with others?

Otherwise you are just potentially causing pain for someone else that is stuck in the same endless cycle as you are if they believe it and try to follow something that doesn't even work for you.

You have to study internet marketing so that you may understand what to do. Then, you have to put all lessons into practice.

Selling is hard, especially for beginners. Your competitors have all the tools they need, JV partners, money, etc. They won't let you sell anything. You have to find ways to make money without competing with strong competitors.

After studying a lot in this forum, you will know what to do. You have to read many posts at the WF to really understand internet marketing. Visit this forum everyday. You have many helpful lessons here, but you also have to be careful with those who pretend to know everything while they are unable to make a penny...

In the meanwhile, try to make money by offering services. You can write articles for example, but the word 'I' must always be written in capital letter and you have to leave a white space after writing a few sentences. This way your texts won't be so tiring.

Many people here told you that you need paragraphs. So, remember this lesson.

Don't write everything together, without any space between paragraphs. This is necessary everywhere, not only when you write articles, but also when you are in forums and social networking sites.

You must have a positive image online.

Find one strategy to make money online and focus on that one strategy until you see profit from it. There's always a new shiny object of the month, but don't chase it.

Put your blinders on and stay focused. When I first got started online, sending paid traffic to affiliate offers is how I made my money.

Eventually IM becomes a "process". As you grow and evolve, so will the systems you use to make money online.

Keep your head up, don't give up, but most importantly find a coach who is doing what you want to do to model...

    Hope this helps in anyway...

  • Well, there's really a lot to say about this subject so not really sure where to begin. I'll try to put a few thoughts down and hopefully something will help you out...

I think one major barrier to success in this industry is a lack of general business sense. If you look at the success stories of people who jump in and start making 6 figures in 6 months, they always have prior experience elsewhere that they leverage.

Maybe they were the CEO of some company, or the top real estate agent in their state... something. They simply use that talent and experience and roll it into a new industry and duplicate that success here.

But for the rest of us, the road is a bit longer and bumpier. I started with no prior experience or success of any kind (just a regular joe) and it was a very long road learning the organizational, technical, sales, etc. skills necessary to make anything work.

And for those new to computers, it's even more difficult because even basic computer proficiency escapes them.

When you add to all this the fact that most training products are designed mostly to upsell you into the next tier of training products, it can become very frustrating, very quickly.

The fact that you are still trying after a year means you are way ahead of the curve already, so you should be proud of that. Most people will quit within their first month if they don't see the results they were expecting.

    Here are some tips:

    1) Focus on income producing activities. There is so much to do... too much. If you're not careful, you can easily spend weeks or months putting full-time hours into your business and have nothing to show for it but a nice looking website.

    2) Leverage tools that do the things you don't know how to do. If themes like Optimize Press had been around when I set up my first website... how many hours, and how much hair I would have saved.

    3) Get committed to producing quality. Take a look at other leaders in your niche and see what their quality control standards are. Whatever you produce, you should strive to get as close as possible to what they are producing.

    4) Don't be afraid to take chances and mess up. I think I've had the best results in my business when I've taken a few tips from a training module and just ran with it. Progress slows significantly when I get into the mode of trying to gather every possible piece of information and watch every training video ever created before I take my first step.

    5) Keep track of how much time you spend in your business and set goals of what you need to accomplish each day. Unfortunately, most of us are programmed to thrive in a highly structured environment. Go to school, go to work, eat when we say you can eat, sleep when we say you can sleep. That's where we're comfortable.

You don't have that luxury when building your own business. There is no structure, and to be productive at all you will need to define your own boundaries.

So anyway, I think this post is long enough Hopefully that helps in some way.

    Good Luck!

PS... I feel you pain. I'm originally from California but also now call IN home...

This stuff is great! Thank you! I love doing this stuff. I can't help it. I swear, I can work on stuff for 18 hours a day, and not feel it creepin up on me until I am walking around like a zombie, lol.

This forum put EVERYTHING I was scared of into a perspective where I am now like "Hell yeah! I DO rock!" I love it!!!!

Yes. This place is terrible, lol. I am 2 hours N of Indy, and HATE it, all caps HATE it!

    You have passion.

    That's good enough.

You just need to bring that passion out at the right place, in front of the right audience.

Whenever I email my list and rant like you did, I typically make a boatload of sales.

(People LOVE passion. This thread getting this amount of traction is evidence of that).

Head over to a website like Zazzle.com, spreadshirt.com, skreened.com, and design your own t-shirts. If your designs are really good and resonate with people, you can expect to earn good commissions(approx. $10 for each sale, but actually depends on you to set commission).

I am earning $200-250 per week from shirts I designed 3 months back. It took a while to get started after promoting on Facebook, twitter etc, but now almost all the traffic to the designs is organic(search engines). But be aware, I had some pretty good designs.

Ok, wow. I don't know that I can remember everything to respond to, and I haven't totally figured out the whole multi-quoting thing...

First of all, let me just say that I loved the "I was so down I thought I contracted down syndrome" --hilarious!

Secondly, I love to write. I can bust out a 13 page paper in less than 3 hours--and get an A+ on it! (Thank you college!) I love all of you for reminding me just how much I enjoy it. I couldn't begin to thank all of you, so just know. You guys are amazing, I only wish I had found this forum a year ago!

Third, I can only learn from this point. I DO want constructive criticism. I encourage it! How else am I going to learn? (You just don't have to be an ass about it! I do have feelings!!) Don't worry though, BHW was my idea of just plain MEAN!!

About the paragraphs, they are fixed. It was just my browser. Thank you, now we can move on from there, lol. So JohnTheJock, you can rest assured that my "bounce rate" has nothing to do with my abilities to write and separate sentences. You would have known that if you had not just jumped the gun without reading anything else about the paragraphs, lol (please don't think I am being rude!!). I have only been trying to fix it since I found this place.

About my i's. I apologize. I was just being lazy, like Facebook lazy. I am new to this! BUT it makes perfect sense to just do it every time I write, so it becomes habit. Again, thank you all!

You guys are like the perfect lil IM family!! I am so excited!!

Hello Christy - Yes, this is a wonderful forum. The War room is good. And yes, there are many ways to make money online (and offline for that matter). Most, probably 99%, take months or years of constant work and dedication without seeing the life changing results we all want. It can be hard to stick with one thing and not jump to the next shiny object. And everyone is selling something. I have found the bigger the claims of earnings - the less likely you will succeed. Nobody is giving you the Holy Grail for $47. If money is of immediate concern, obviously look for a job - any job. A fast way to generate a few bucks online is Fivrr. Check out what other people are doing there.

Try to do what you like. Get a paypal account. Put up a gig. Do 500 words for $5. 1000 words make it 2 gigs. (for instance) If you are good, you will build up a following and client base. This is likely (very likely) not a big money type of thing. But you could end up making a few bucks.

For me, best thing I did was unsubscribe from all the lists I became part of. Do away with the distractions. Make a daily schedule for yourself and stick to it. When I am on my computer working I do NOT have Facebook or Tumbler running. Focus on work. Even now I just spent 1 hour of work time on Warrior Forum. It's OK though, I

Wish you the best - john

Blogger might have also deleted your blog due to the name - even with the extra "i".

I would suggest you don't focus as much on making money as figuring out what you want to write about. Pick a topic and start a blog (I would suggest wordpress.com instead of blogger because it will be easier to eventually transition to a self-hosted wordpress blog and give you a better sense of how wordpress works). Eventually, you will want to host your own wordpress site as you have more control over it for seo.

Take some time to find your voice and a topic you enjoy writing about. Then work affiliate links, ads, and other money maker methods into it. This will make it a lot more enjoyable for you and let you focus on a topic you love while learning the rest. Being genuinely interested in the topic you write about gains you more in terms of subscribers and fans that will help spread the word about your blog on your own. Worst case, even if this blog doesn't make you a lot of money, you still love it and can learn from it (scifispace.com is this way for me. Love writing for it, though it makes very little money).

I have found over the years that if you try everything to make money and that is your focus (especially if you are between jobs and feel "desperate"), you will quickly burn out when you discover the money doesn't come rolling in like you thought it would or x program you bought said it would. But working on something you love is good for the soul

Okay, I hate to repeat myself (sorry), but now that I know I want to write, what are the best places to go? I saw iwriter and something else in this somewhere...lol. I was browsing this forum last night, and thought I saw something that said "stay away from iwriter"?

Also, how much do you typically make for writing for others? Do they find you? Do you find them? I just don't want to go to the wrong place, and you guys are AMAZING for information!

Best part about you guys? You don't lie to me! I mean, don't get me wrong. I am not so naive that I don't recognize the messages I get where people are trying to get me to jump on board with their own stuff.

I don't have to beat around the bush, I can just say what I think! I don't need to say..."So, I need an article written for me, how much will you charge me?" To get a legit answer! I LOVE IT!

    Hang in there

I have been in this business (and succeeding) for years. But even with success, I still have moments of frustration where I feel panicked that I can't figure something out. It might not be "how to start" but it's always something else - usually technical.

My mentor pointed it out to me just the other day that I was in "freak out mode." The key is calm down and think straight. We can't make smart decisions if we're coming from a place of panic and frustration.

When I started researching it, it became obvious to me that when I get really flustered that I don't know what to do to get past my obstacle, it's like being in Quicksand.

Quicksand becomes more fluid the more you struggle. If you're still, you're okay.

So remember that - calm down, realize you CAN do this. Map out your options, your talents and skills, and your likes and dislikes. Move forward in baby steps, not leaps and bounds.

Every baby step you achieve will feel SO good to you. It will build your confidence so that when you DO encounter a BIG obstacle, you'll have enough successes behind you to feel empowered that you GOT this.

If you want to write for people you can get started on iwriter. It's not the best pay in the world, and you'll have to write a handful of articles for cheap to get started.

But it does pay and there's usually work there to do done. So you can signup for free and write the articles that you want until you build up a better reputation and can make more money on the higher end articles.

It's actually a great place to get started, because you can sign in and almost always find an article you can quickly write to make a few bucks. Don't expect to get rich, expect to work for a little setup capitol to start your business.

You can post for free on Fiverr too. Then you can put a link to your gig in your signature here to get some traffic to it and start getting paid.

Sites like Elance and Odesk have writing work too, but a LOT of those people are wanting to pay low end prices for poor quality writing.

You'll want to work towards creating your own website, or setting up a sales thread here on the warriorforum to attract customers. (There's a section here called Warrior for Hire)
Both of those require a little investment, but will allow you to charge more and start making what you're worth.

And, I'll say it again. If you can write a story in a few hours, Amazon is a goldmine and it's passive income once it's up & running.

First of all, sorry to hear about your situation. Been there and it's certainly not a fun place to be in.

Best advice I can give you is to take a step back, breathe, and stop listening to all the "gurus" and "master marketers" you've purchased products from. Do not purchase any other products either.

To be totally honest with you, the majority of those programs are nothing but regurgitated information that has been around for years.

So I'll just cut to the chase and give you my advice:

Take the money you've spent on those "guru" courses and invest into paid traffic. I would look into promoting low-paying CPA offers to get started, as they don't require much of a testing budget.

    Initial Investments

Your other initial investments will include a decent VPS for tracking purposes. Prosper202 (free) should be fine to get started on unless you're doing mobile.

As far as servers go, I recommend LiquidWeb. I believe they have a $100 offer for new accounts which should get you 2 months free on their 1GB SSD VPS, which should be plenty for you. (Avoid Hostgator, Bluehost and all other EIG owned hosts at all cost.)

    CPA Networks

As far as CPA networks go, the usual trusted companies should be good enough to get started on, unless you're looking for specific offers. I'd recommend Neverblue for starters.

    Traffic Sources

Get started with search since you're new. No PPV, no display, no redirect traffic, no facebook/social ads, just search. Also, don't mess with 2nd-tier ad networks. There's plenty of volume in the top sources, so no need to have to deal with the horrible quality of places like 7Search, ect.. Yes, they can work but I wouldn't waste time with them, especially as a newbie -- contrary to popular belief.

Google is #1, Microsoft is #2. Google is very strict on affiliates and has higher CPCs, so I'd recommend choice #2.

    Offers

You'll have to get in with your network AMs for this one. Ask them what search offers are currently doing best for them. Get as much info as you can. Average EPCs among top affiliates, conversions rations, ect..

Once you have a list of offers, do your market/keyword research, then go to work.

Track everything. Keywords, search queries, ads, landingpages (if you use any), ect.. Without properly tracking you will go nowhere.

Start out with a few targeted keywords as you start out, and add more as you cut non-converting terms and become profitable.

Will you lose money? Most likely. But in this business like in any other business, you'll have to invest and even lose some money before you start making some.

Obviously there's a lot more to it than what I've outlined, but you sound pretty smart and should be able to figure the rest of it out. There's plenty of information out there on this, and at least you know what you're looking for.

Anyways, that's just the advice I'd give myself as a newbie. If it doesn't seem like something you'd feel comfortable doing, no worries. There's plenty of other ways to make money.

    Hope this helps.

Edit -- Oh, and US traffic is pretty expensive/competitive. Be open to promoting offers in other countries, perhaps even in other languages. A lot less competition and clicks are cheaper.

Thank you again, and holy crap that's a lot of great information! Information that I've never even heard before! I decided to take a step back and maybe use my article writing as a learning process. The more articles I write about this kinda stuff, the more I will be teaching myself in the process. If they are approved, hopefully I am understanding!! LOL!

As far as the grumpy pants in the room, everyone gets laid off at some point in their lives. Well, at least most of us. I live where it is cold. Seasonal workers everywhere have this issue, so get off my ass and understand that I posted in here for help not your smart-ass assumptions according to my name. Besides, Bitchin' Kitchen on the cooking network has done very well for itself. (Not to mention, I have already taken the nicer advice in the room, and wrote WF.) (Not that you took the time out to read that before jumping to a quick reply to run your mouth!)

Anyways, enough of the feeding of the negativity, I am hungry for success. I believe I will achieve it. Why? Because I am not afraid of messing up, picking myself back up, and trying again. Oh, and the bank bouncing thing was terrible, yes. That's what I get for thinking Project Payday was going to get me anything more than a quick $50. Stupidity and ignorance on my end, but hey, at least I gave it a shot. A while after trying that out, I realized how they were actually making their money. Stupid me

Thank you again everyone! You've been so kind! This is still my favorite forum!

This is a common problem I think if you are trying to get some traffic that is free or really cheap then focus on YouTube videos you can get some great wso's that show you how to market and optmise your videos properly so as they rank

Most importantly try to stick to one method , whatever it is until you master it and start to see some results befor you move on to the next.

You need to accept that you might be doing this for 1 maybe 5+ years before you make a dime before it starts working. If that doesn't interest you. Than you are in the wrong field. It does not come over night. I read your past post your another one of those people looking for get rich schemes.

Your not going to make a penny without hard work and dedication. Get that first. I am not trying to bash you. Just open your eyes.

A lot of these people above are giving good advice. But it is all common knowledge to people that have done the work and been there. You should seriously even consider getting a real job in your area. This sounds like it is not for you. Prove me wrong.

Yeah, I don't believe that...not for a second. I think there are so many opportunities available in the virtual world that are great for a number of different people! I was unaware that I could just write online. I love it! Maybe IM isn't for me, maybe it is? I won't know until trial and error tells me. I pride myself on being smart and learning from my mistakes

I won't fall for anymore "buy my crap it works!"...but I damn sure won't give up just because my first site was a disaster! From everything I've read thus far...seems like damn near everyone hit rock bottom face first before figuring out which formula worked best for them. You know, and I think that is a lot of it. There are soooo many ways to make it, (or break it). Different styles for different people, ya know?

Besides, I have kinda always been a 'make my own rules' type. I have done marketing for YEARS, just not virtually. Kinda hard to make that switch (for me, anyway). I do promo's and events and manage them all the time, weather permitting. Just have to keep my head up and keep on keepin on. The amount of information is INSANE, and I couldn't possibly learn it all in just a few months.

Seems like it changes so rapidly, that's why people who are just now jumpin' aboard are struggling. Idk. Who knows. I do know that I am happy now doing this. I've already made more money writing than I did with PPD, lol. That's awesome to me!! But thanks for taking the time to give me some sound advice!!!

I am willing to put in the work. Believe that. I will NEVER give up! I will just be more careful and smarter about my actions.

I still love it, even if it does take me years or I just end up helping someone else with their niche. I just love the virtual life

No worries, m'lady... you have a great (natural) online persona that you should capitalize on. Nichin' yourself? Yeah.. its all good and in the end you'll realize you've learned more than you set out to. Seems you've already experienced that with the whole which way do I do, george syndrome.

Somebody else, (another old skooler) told you to learn how to communicate; I think you're doing well with that in your natural state... like how you're responding here... that's the kinda writing that makes the dough out here.... conversational... talkin' to folk like you're talkin' to them sittin' across from you in your living room... hone that... master it.. its what made Frank Kern rich!

REALIZE that you have a leg up on MOST from having that conventional knowledge. PLUS (if you're true); the college degree also comes in handy; as that's the tried and true. Not all of it applies... but, since you seem to be on the intelligent side.. you can figure out where to put what when appropriate...

Struggle and battle in life begin when you are already out of your comfort zone.

Stick with an idea and see it through. Take action, and just do it. Don't get scattered by buying lots courses and products. It will just end up confusing the hell out of you and leave you wondering which way to turn. Indeed, it's a very real problem in IM, so please don't do that.

Keep telling yourself that there is no magic bullet or quick riches method. There may be for experienced people, but not for the many of us.

    Rock on!

I know how you are feeling.

The first two years I jumped from one opportunity to the next - without ever completing anything.

I started getting results when I changed my approach to making money.

    Here are my advice:

    Get your mindset right

Stop looking for quick & easy shortcuts.

There are no shortcuts. No loophooles. No magic pills. Building a real business requires a real process.

Shortcuts are short for a reason, they don't last.

    Provide real value

Instead of trying to make money and looking for the next magic-bullet product - focus on creating AND delivering real value to other people.

This is how you win big. It allways will be.

Stick to one core business model

Find a business model that fits your needs and commit yourself to that model.

Then create consequences for failure. If there are no negative consequences, it will be easy for you to quit and drop the ball.

Here are some ideas to get you started:

** Make a bet with a friend. If you quit and start on another project - you owe him/her a certain amount of money (i.e. 100 dollars)

** If you are into politics - promise to donate money to a candidate or political party that you hate (if you quit)

** If you have a blog - announce it to your audience, and blog about your experience. This is a good way to commit yourself to many people.

    Conclusion?

Have a long-term vision. Build something of real value to other people, and take consistent and focused action.

Expect to fail a lot. Especially in the beginning. It will take work to get there. Anything in life that's worth achieving requires a worthwhile effort.

Most importantly - don't give up. Stick to it. Even when things get hard. Because they will.

Anyway, im so close, but so far from my goals and dreams....if someone could just help, i don't even know where to begin to get out of this hole....

I CANT!!

First problem. If you start 25000 projects , it's normal that you will not succeed in ANY of them. A project manager takes p 1 or 2 large projects. And that's it. And trying to get an online business of the ground IS a large project.
Take just 1 or 2. And try it at your best. For at least 6 months. Not 6 days.

Stop buying stuff !! Buy a couple of good books for a couple of dollars. And apply what you learn. Don't get trapped in the magic "I show you how to make money tomorrow. ".

What are your goals and objectives? Have you defined these? So many visitors to your site? So many ebook sales? So much income in month 1, 2, 6, 12?
If you don't know where you want to go and in what timeframe, you will never get anywhere. Set REALISTIC goals.

Your last 2 words are important. Never say never. But if things don't work you have to analyze WHY they don't work. But you have to be determined. And you have to be in it for the long haul. You will NOT make any significant money if you start with a blank sheet. Online business is like offline business. It is hard and long hours. But don't give up!

Oh man, I am super thankful for ALL the help from you guys! You guys are like the IM family I've always wanted! lol!

I saw an awful lot about paragraphing, still. Must be hit-n-miss on what your reading! LOL~not that this isn't a super long thread! I'll say it again: I didn't know how, I got help, I fixed it. It was a browser issue!

This last page has GREAT advice on it. Really breaks it down. I did go do something else. I stopped trying to AM and got into writing (so I could AFFORD to AM), or IM, whichever I decide to go with when I get ready!

You guys are still the best. I have learned SO much, I couldn't ever thank you enough! Seriously! It feels good to know that I am on the right path!!! SO GOOD!

    Also, about the 'field' reference...WOW!

I really did that. I looked at my field and thought, holy shit. I am NEVER gonna get this all done, I have to HURRY! WRONG. I need to pick and choose what needs outsourced, and learn more about traffic...which seems to be a pain in the ASS!!!!!!! Lol

I love Jay. He and I have talked on several occasions, and he is an amazing mentor! He doesn't seem one bit lazy to me! I think I even developed a virtual crush! LMAO!

    Ah, humor.

Lindbeck, your ideas were great, also! They all were!

Sometimes I feel like people will get pissed, or think I am not listening, if something just doesn't make sense, but believe me, I am still learning, and PUSHING FORWARD! I love it.

Going back to what PCH reposted--The school 'stuff'...WOW again! Yes! I hated college. I wanted to learn, but MAN am I opinionated, and that's not something you should be at a school where you have to kiss everyone's ass, agree on their thoughts and practices, and graduate from (even though you still feel an empty hole inside).

I totally agree, and LOVE the virtual possibilities that open in split seconds. I guess time is really your first friend. You have to learn, you can't learn unless you try, and if you half-ass it, you might as well quit now!

Thank you again, and so much, and all of that!!

Another thing I want to share with you is perspective.
If you are marketing and doing all your projects for you then its not going to appeal to your audience.

You need to do projects for others and ask your self how is this project adding value to others lives? If your project doesn't add value to others lives or their projects then the likely hood of success is slim.

As Jay Abrams says Appeal to their narcissism. I vote you do things that add value to others life's but even if it doesn't add value if it appeals to their wants, needs and desires you will have success.

I know plenty of people that go on and on about they need money and they need their website to work etc... This perspective will show through in everything you do. Truly love your customers, followers, list and audience and give them everything they need and you will have everything you need.

PM me I will give you free access to a system I put together that should give you the bump start you're looking for. The good news for you the hardest part of this system for most is writting the 6 paragraphs of content

You seem like you have a lot of things going on and that can lead to a lot of confusion. I am just like you, I am barely 2 weeks old in Internet Marketing and I have a looooongg way to go. I might fail, but I focus on being a success.

What I did when I decided to dive into IM was list down all of my strengths, skills and passions. I took the common denominator and snapped my fingers and said, hey, yes I CAN do this.

I can see that you are good in telling stories, and you express yourself emphatically, which is great. Just organize your thoughts and think more on presenting yourself in a more professional manner. Mind the spelling, punctuation and format, so people will take you a bit more seriously.

    Love your spirit!

I think what works for me in situations like what you have now is focus. Just set your mind in one direction and goal for now, when you realize that you already have the capability of adding goals then you are free to do it. Every time I wake up in the morning I personally read inspirational stories like success stories of real people who made it with internet business.

Yes, list building is one of the best way to make money online. But we still have to start it from the beginning and keep focus. Because the money is in te list and the REAL MONEY is in your RELATION with your list.

if we just treat them as our cash machines, it is natural that many of us are unsubscribing from the list. As I did

This post should be made into a PDF, its awesome!

Realistically if you are not building a list, and not helping them expect to fail fast. This industry is not easy, but then again, if it is your passioin you are going to have to work out what you want out of it, and in life in general.

Those who treat IM like a hobby get minmal results. Those who treat it like a real business get rewarded beyond their wildest dreams.

At least that is where I help my clients and customers and its working like gangbusters for them in 2014.

    Hi,
It sounds like you had "Shiny New Object Syndrome". STOP buying stuff. You need to pick one thing and go for it. Educate yourself in that subject before you jump in head first.

I feel your pain!! Been there done that.

If I were you, I would start by doing article marketing. Pick a profitable niche by using Google Trends and then do some keyword research. You need to find keywords that have low competition and high search volume.

Do you have a website? In my opinion, it's more difficult to do affiliate marketing unless you have a website. Well written articles, when submitted to article directories, will bring you traffic especially if you can write lots of articles about the same subject and kind of corner the market.

You just need to focus on one thing and learn all you can about it and stop buying that next product that you think will be "IT".

It takes hard work, knowledge, and action to become a successful marketer. You can do it but, you have to stay FOCUSED!
Good luck to you and if you have any questions, just message me. I don't come here everyday only a couple of times a week but, I'll answer you when I get the message.

Geri gave you some great advice here.

I will add : in addition to articles, use videos to get traffic to a squeeze page and build a list. Use video creation and video distribution gigs on Fiverr as much as your budget will allow.

Also, use Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, StumbleUpon, Linkedin, etc. to get traffic to your squeeze page. Place some free classified ads on Backpage, OLX, CL, USFreeads, and other sites to get even more traffic. Have some flyers printed out with the URL of your squeeze page and post the flyers at bus stops, payphones, laundromats, supermarkets, etc. to get even more traffic.

Build your list, gain your subscribers trust by giving them helpful tips and info, and once in a while give them an affiliate link to something that you know will help them, and some of them WILL BUY IT and you WILL MAKE MONEY !

      Good luck !

    The first mistake:

Don't expect someone to give his blueprint to you so you can start living the fabled ".com" lifestyle overnight. even if someone were to give you his "methods", you might or might not be able to make the most of it.

    Solution:
Step away from you desk and look upon your situation from an outsider's perspective. The answers are all there in the problems themselves.

TAKE ACTION, TAKE ACTION AND TAKE ACTION. Finish what you started and be prepared to fail before you succeed.

    Some inspiration:

I was in knee deep muck just a couple of days back and didn't have the shoes for it (you can check my threads). I was frantically looking for help here, but got nothing more than "oohs" and "aahs".

It took me two sleepless nights to chalk up a workable plan and I finally made $1000+ in just three days from scratch (I posted a thread on that too here).

You can do it too. Don't let people tell you what to do because you have your strengths and weaknesses and only YOU can figure it out.

    Best of luck.

Malissa, I think you are so right on about that. Just because one method works for one person, doesn't mean it will for everyone. I found that out the hard way, and as much criticism as I receive for buying things, it seems that I am not the only one.

Don't get me wrong--I don't think I should have (NOW!), but hey--at least I was trying, and not just sitting back with my thumb up my butt waiting for everyone else to do things for me!

I am going to look into your posts. If you pulled yourself out and were able to profit like that, I am sure I can learn a lot from you!

OH! I have been meaning to say this, but keep forgetting when I stop reading and start replying, lol...

I don't have the FIRST clue about lists, email lists, whatever. I wouldn't even know where to begin building one. This will just be something else I have to research! I just don't want to disappoint people! lol

I know, I know, expect failure. I am...I do. After reading everything here, I have let my first site go (trust me, there was NO repairing it, .com name and all). I decided to research even MORE first, and write on the side, which I will say again, I LOVE!

Although I must say, I am beginning to feel disappointed with iWriter...

I would suggest a job if there is immediate need of money. You can do IM part time when the money you get from the job sustains you. IM is really tough and if you are not established, it will be a life and death challenge.

Why suffer too much when you can possibly get some job that sustains you at least for a while. I heard some honest marketers talking about this issue including Alex Becker of Source Wave SEO Blog With Alex Becker

    Hi Christy.
What ever you do Don't Give Up.
Find one product that is selling well and start promoting it. Here are some routine tips you can use to stay focused.

    1. Don't read your emails when you first go online, or you will go on the buying cycle. Remember everyone is trying to sell you. Read your emails a hour before you go to bed. and if it is a sales letter then dump it especially for now.

    2. Determine to achieve 5 marketing tasks for each day, and give yourself a little reward if you have managed it. You said you love making Websites, Oh I know what you mean, so do I. However, for now stop creating websites, and find that one product you believe in and just promote it. if the itch to create a site gets the better of you then write a blog at least you are still achieving something.

    3. Promote with passion. Use good strong power words that instill an emotional response. Even use the headlines of the sales page, and change it around a little to make it unique.

    4. Seeing you are in the internet marketing niche, give safelists a go, I have made some good sales from them. Promote to classified ads as well, and if you have a nice tight sales funnel with a good giveaway, then with good upsells then try Solo ads or safe swaps.

    5. Make sure you are tracking your results, because it help to keep you focused. Try bit.ly they have some good tracking as well. I refused to use a tracker for the first two years online and I never made a single sale. It was not till I started to track my results that I was able to stay focused enough to start to make money online.

Christi Just stay focused and consistent with your promoting. Do not underestimate the power of a good sales funnel either. Promote with passion and use power words, track your results and stay with one product for about 4 months, then you will start to see results. Promote only one product. If you promote 20 products at a time you will lose focus again. But most of all KEEP GOING, and you will see results

I was pretty desperate when I first started and didn't make any money for a long time. Now I'm on my way to have a 5 figure month. Always think positive and keep working hard. I never thought that I wouldn't be able to make money online because you see all those people making money and know that it's possible. You don't need to be a genius to make it work.

The biggest mistake I made when I first started was jumping from one thing to another. Just find something you know that works and focus on it. Don't be afraid to try new things and take massive action. Eventually you'll make money.
