Argh! How do I keep eZineArticles from confusing my tracking links with a non-top-level domain?

I'm so frustrated!

EZineArticles keeps refusing my articles because my links include PHP tracking variables.

i.e. http://www.mysite.com/?w=tracklink

They ask me to resubmit them, but there's no box for me to explain that it IS a top level domain. So, I resubmit them as they are, and they're disapproved again.

I'm not a platinum member with EZA yet, and I wonder if that makes a difference...

Any advice??

You could ditch the tracking links and use something like google analytics to track your traffic. I know it might not be as accurate, but at least you can still have some form of tracking and get your articles approved.

Send them an email via their contact/support section and they'll let you know why they are rejecting it.

You can also use server redirection.

That way you can submit the links in your article with ordinary directory structures, yet without php mucking up your URL.

A link that looks like www.mysite.com/info/1457 will be redirected to www.mysite.com/?w=tracklink.

The 1457 in the first link above would be the tracking link ID.

Here's an article on about.com on .htaccess redirection...

301 Redirect - HTTP Redirects - 301 Redirect Better than Meta Refresh

You'll catch all your tracking info this way, but it looks sharp and may even improve CTR, since it just looks like an ordinary link, rather than some dubious looking link trap.

Or you could just look at your AW stats as it shows referrals.

Well, http://www.mysite.com/?w=tracklink or www.mysite.com/info/1457 are not top level domains, so therefore it is against AZA's terms of service(TOS).

Anything beyond the mydomain.com part is no longer top level therefore you can't redirect with EZA.

Just use Google Analytics on your site though and you will be able to see where all your visitors come from anyways.
