Question About Updating My Web Design

I have an out-dated design on a website.

I'm currently redesigning it on a sub-domain of another website.

When complete, what is the easiest way to update my present website with the new design?

Can I simply delete the present website and upload a full backup of my newly designed site?

Is your website in HTML/CSS/Etc. or it's a based WordPress site?

If it is a WordPress site, you can easily move it to the root just by using a backup plugin.

      It's WP based.

This is so helpful - thank you!

Can you recommend the plugin to use please?

Personnaly I use backupbuddy, but its a paid plugin and it's easy to use.

I didn't try any free plugin but after a research here's some free ones:

    BackUpWordPress and BackWPup

Then if you need directions and instructions on how to use one of them. Go to YouTube and type in "How to backup a wordpress with BackWPup" or "How to backup a wordpress with BackUpWordPress".

Let me know if you have any questions!

    Best regards,
    Reda

That's very kind of you, Reda; thank you. I've been puzzling over this for far too long.

I'm going to have a play about with it on another test site and, if possible, will return here to pick your brain if I get stuck.

Another option is to leave the installation where it is and just point to it from with wordpress.

I've used this method several times and it's pretty simple.
