Best Way to Make a Sales Page?

What do you guys think is the best way to go about making a sales page? Is there an online resource or software (preferably free) where I can make a sales page with all the fancy highlights and underlines?

I see a lot of sales page's are actually just images so I imagine it can be done in photoshop, however, I don't know how I would get all the cool images.

Thanks in advance!

If you want a low (or free) cost solution, use your autoresponder service. I'm assuming if you're wanting to build a sales page you're using an autoresponder.

I can tell you that Getresponse includes options and tons of stock images for creating squeeze pages at least.
Hope this gives you a start!

    • You can use aweber's squeeze page creator. I am with My Lead System Pro system and its free for me to create custom squeeze pages.

Free squeeze page creators are not recommended. You have to spend money to make money. Lead pages and optimize press are the best to use for word press.

      Hope that helps

I was actually just looking into Optimize Press! Looks useful and the examples do look extremely professional. I'm assuming you use it?

Thanks Joe! I actually had been trying GetResponse's landing page builder. Do you know if there is a way to extend the page length though? I kept running into issues when I wanted to create a page longer than the standard page length.

Everyone else- thanks for the ideas! All awesome and very useful!

        • This is why you need to invest on optimize press or lead pages to create sales pages.

You can only create squeeze/landing page, welcome page with most autoresponders which is why it wont let you have a long page format like a sales page.

Gotta spend money to make money bro

Well I'm assuming you mean a sales page for a launch. Look in the war room section and you will find some free products you can customize with photoshop.

Wait your not a WAR ROOM member well then free is probably not an option so head on over to the wso section and buy a graphics pack. Or better yet spend the money on a war room membership and then get it in the war room for nothing.

I tried leadpages, the pages were super easy to set up. It's template based, you select the template you want to use then simply click on each element and change the text, add images etc.

The problem I had was that I was never able to find a template that had all of the elements I wanted.

    Another vote for OptimizePress 2.0.

If you are building a sales page, chances are you will want to build another in the future. Then, you will want to build squeeze page with an opt in.

Then you will want to build a membership site. Then a blog, then build a sales funnel.

Optimizepress does all of this, and as mentioned, its a one time fee.

I use InstaBuilder myself and it's been a great plugin to build salespage and it works with almost all themes. Though, you will need separate plugin/themes to create a membership site unlike Optimizepress where you can create salespage and membership site using that one theme. I would suggest Optimizepress if you got the budget.

If you go with a standard WordPress install, there's a great (free) plugin called Symple Shortcodes that will help create much of what you describe.

The drawback to using WP for a sales/landing page is that you'll have navigation links and a header. You can go header free, but the navigation will appear, and that's not the way most sales/landing pages are set up.

There are plugins you might try: Go to WordPress(dot)org/plugins, and search there. Play around to see if any suite your needs.

I'm not a big fan of these for two reasons:
    1. They can be nearly unreadable on mobile devices.
    2. They have almost zero SEO because there's little text-based content to be crawled.

Of course, that might not be an issue if you have a big list and/or a strong affiliate presence.

    Best of luck to you!

Here are some tools that you can use if you are building a sales page inside your wordpress dash broad.

    Tiny MCE Advanced

This is a WordPress plugin that makes formatting blog posts, pages, and sale pages SO much easier. Sick of having to hand code colors into your text? This includes a handy button in your post’s toolbar so you can change colors in a couple clicks. It gives you great options to make your posts and pages look like your brand, and not just generic text.

    WordPress Shortcodes

Shortcodes allow you to add unique effects and additions to your sales page (or even to your posts). For example, buttons, social media buttons, collapsable boxes, columns, etc. Some WordPress themes already have shortcodes built in (WooThemes, being one example). However, if you want more options or you do not have built in shortcodes, I recommend this plugin from CodeCanyon, called Styles with Shortcodes. I use it on my own sites.

    Google Web Fonts

Instead of using the same old fonts, why not use fonts that speak to your branding? There are hundreds of Google Fonts available, and chances are you will be able to find one that matches your brand.

    Icons

If you’re looking for something to make your page a little bit more interesting, without using tons of photos or (gasp!) unrelated 90′s clip art (please don’t!!), icons might be just the thing to add a little bit of visual interest without taking the focus away from the message. There are TONS of free icons out there, but the one site I keep going back to is DryIcons.com. There are also icon search engines if you can’t quite find what you’re looking for.

    Hope this helps

A long time ago, I was introduced to these guidelines by renowned expert David Frey.

His 12 Step procedure has some widely acclaimed support.

You don't have to be an award-winning copywriter to create effective sales letters. In fact, writing great sales letters is more of a science than an art. Even the pros use proven "templates" to create sales letters that get results. The following is a 12-step template for writing foolproof sales letters.

Overcoming the Hurdles Leading to Buying Resistance

Every person has some form of buying resistance. The objective of your sales letter should be to overcome your readers buying resistance while persuading them to take action. I liken writing a sales letter to running a steeplechase foot race. The first one to the finish line who has jumped over all the hurdles is the winner, or in this case, gets the sale.

Whether you're giving a sales presentation in person or on paper, the process of overcoming the hurdles leading to buying resistance are much the same. These hurdles are manifested in many spoken and unspoken customer comments such as:

    You don't understand my problem
How do I know you're qualified?
    I don't believe you
I don't need it right now
    It won't work for me
What happens if I don't like it?
    I can't afford it

Results-oriented sales letters will need to address some or all of these objections to be effective. The 12-step sales letter template is designed to overcome each of these objections in a careful, methodical series of copywriting tactics.

    The 12 steps are:

    1 Get attention
    2 Identify the problem
    3 Provide the solution
    4 Present your credentials
    5 Show the benefits
    6 Give social proof
    7 Make your offer
    8 Inject scarcity
    9 Give a guarantee
    10 Call to action
    11 Give a warning
    12 Close with a reminder

Each of these 12 steps adds to readers' emotions while calming their fears.

It's a long letter and too long to post here. I hope it's ok if I provide a link.

12 Steps to a Successful Sale ? | Zero To Hero Marketing

This will absolutely help you to construct a sales letter, and it doesn't matter what platform you stick it on, or even just an HTML page.
