INTERNET MARKETING

I am going to start a business making websites and logos for people.
I am very good at making websites and logos (self taught) but i have never made a website for someone else.

I am not familiar with the process of making the site for them though. (I am going to be making all of the websites with wordpress)

*Do they buy their OWN domain and hosting and give me their Password for their Wordpress account? If not, what is the standard process?

Keep it stupidly simple:

Build your rep on whatever chosen forum, platform, etc you expect to sell on.

Your providing the service of creating the website and leave it up to the customer if they want to include the purchase of domain and hosting in your price or they could provide they could buy it and provide the details.

Next give examples of your work. If you dont have any yet make some mock ups and use those to show case your work.

Then it just comes down to how the client would like there site to look and feel

Remember you are the designer, the Picasso, bringing their vision of their future site to life

Thanks! So if I am making the website with Wordpress, do they need to give me their wordpress password, so i can make it on their wp account? Or is there another way of going about this?

That is probably the easiest way to do it.

Another would be to simply create a theme and then sell the theme.

They will need to0 give you their passwords if they already have hosting and stuff done.

If you are selling a whole package with domains and stuff you can charge more.

You could offer both options as two different packages. Have an option for a "deluxe" package that includes domain and hosting.

You can offer just create website from wp dashboard, so your clients just give their wp username and password.

You can also create the website from scratch with their domain & hosting account.

You can create websites with all the domain & hosting that you can maintain the accounts.

Personally, I would instruct the customer to get their own hosting and domain. It's theirs and should be in their own accounts.

Then log into their cpanel, install wordpress and build the site. Simple as that.

I would also just suggest, if you're an affiliate of hosting or domain provider let them purchase it with your affiliate link.

I say always try to get some residual income out of it. If a person has the site already hosted somewhere else offer them a discount on the service if they host with you to entice them to make a change. Then just get a reseller account at hostgator or any other place for that matter.

Build you reputation on facebook, twitter, pinterest, Ect. You have to get people to trust you if you want to make a website for them
