How to learn internet marketing

You will come across many informative articles on the internet for learning SEO. The most important first step of SEO is selecting the right keywords and devising the appropriate SEO strategies in accordance with the nature of your website.

There are a few books on the market that you can learn a lot from.

One of them is called how I made my first million online and how you can too by Ewen Chia. I read that book and it is pretty good.

First at all I would decide in which direction you wanna go! There are so many ways in Internet Marketing that it can be overwhelming to decide where to go!

Have a look here at the forum for example in the Mind Warriors - Success, Power, Self-Improvement Forum where you can find really good threads about Marketing and Mindset Books. I also can highly recommend "Think and Grow Rich" From Napoleon Hill which is not a book about Internet Marketing but a book which will help you a lot with getting started.

find a few successful internet marketers, and not only buy their products and follow them closely. Also watch and model what they do

I will always recommend the same thing:

Do some research and invest in a coach.

Especially since you said you work better in a more structured way...

A coach can definitely help you with that, and a helluva lot more

Tons of free books online about how to get started with your own website and marketing it online. Check out some of the free WSO's on this forum.

"Internet Marketing" is a pretty broad space, so I would browse here and try and find a more specific route you want to take within "Internet Marketing" and then try and find more specific resources from there.

First of all decide what you can do based on your skills and knowledge, then start reading only posts about this matter. You have to get used to reading many posts until you will find the best ones here. There are better lessons in this forum than anywhere else.

You have to be persistent and keep learning.

At the same time you can test your skills by using free platforms to understand how everything works online into practice. They are easy to use, but you can lose your work at any time. Don't exaggerate.

Use them as a way to learn and as a way to start making some money for a few expenses. You can create a Blogger blog and promote affiliate products, Squidoo lenses, Zujava leafs, and Hub pages.

You could read the Success Engineering by Phil Gosling I just finished it and it gives you
a scientific look into Internet Marketing and the mind set you need to complete your goal/dream Hope this helps.

All I have to add is don't devote all your time to reading and researching. Take action on everything you learn.

Seth Godin's All Marketers are liars book gives a great background on what your mindset as marketer should be like.

From the sound of things, you are needing to learn the basics, and the terminology. You may want to look on YouTube for some videos that will help you learn the basics in more detail.

You will learn it by reading and practice, read blog & article about on-line marketing on internet and apply them in promotion. You can learn better by doing.

For a more structured way of learning, i would highly recommend you visit the WSO section on this forum where many high quality structured courses and ebooks are available.

First off its important to understand that making money online is not internet marketing, it is affiliate marketing. Affiliate marketing consists of a whole different mindset than internet marketing, you will find that here in the forum nobody is really educated in internet marketing but just affiliate marketing and making money online.

Pick up a book on both subjects and you will understand the psychological differences.

There are many books on this topics that you can get get from anywhere. That is online and offline some will have them in their forum signature and are free to down load.

You can go the money section of this forum and you will get many books But I would suggest that take your time in reading this forum and blogs as they are updated as time goes by. This will help you in getting the most up to gate information in internet marketing.

Here we go again. How to get started and as usual lots of different answers and only one with what I would also agree? Now I don't want to say I am right and everyone else is wrong because we all have different opinions and sadly many have forgotten how frustrating it is when getting started from scratch.

So without any doubt my advice as always is to get some online coaching because simply going though this forum and others is a bit like a jig saw puzzle and as I said before, with lots of conflicting advice about what to do. A mentor, however will have a well structured set of training videos and PDF's which take you from zero ability and knowledge to having your own niche website up and online getting sign ups to build a list which is the first stage to success.

Then the mentor will show you how to drive traffic to get those sign ups because the money is in the list and never in the offer on a website. Very few websites make a sale the first time someone views it or at least very few buy on their first visit. Far better to offer a free valuable information ebook, video or mini-course newsletter to get them to opt in and build a relationship with them first. only then eventually send related product recommendations in your follow up emails once they like and know who you are and because you have helped them.

Unless you are an expert copywriter or a super salesman it is very doubtful all the reading of books, forum posts and replies will turn you into a full time online marketer any time this side of 2015 or even further beyond? A mentor will cost a small monthly $? but that will save you many months of spending a lot more while earning a big fat zero online. My recommendation is Niche Profit Classroom or for a better explanation of the basics the Chris Farrell membership are in my opinion the best by far.

I'm on step 6 right now and from my experience with all of these different "guru" courses, this is the only down-to-earth system I've found so far. Let me know if you want more info.

I like attraction marketing systems with simple
advertising methods that generate leads quickly.
Systems that are easy for any newbie to pick up, and that anyone living anywhere
can use. I don't like for my advertising methods to be restricted to just a
couple of countries like the US, UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.

I prefer for the whole system to be about assisting internet marketers with
becoming better at promoting their own primary business opportunity. I like
it this way because it's a mass appeal need. When you present such a program
to a prospect who is serious, it's a much better fit because most marketers want to learn how to generate leads and drive traffic to their own opportunities as opposed to hopping around from one business to the next.

Finally, I like an attraction marketing program that allows you to make healthy chunks of cash up front even if the prospect decides not to join your primary biz. I like when you can earn residual income streams off of tools that provide assistance in the promotion of your primary business. Every part of the system to me should be about assisting prospects with the promotion of their own opportunity.

I agree. A coach will keep you on track and teach you in a structured manner. The time and money you spend figuring things out by trial and error could be put towards actually building your business.

I concur with getting a coach to help you learn about IM. The coach will show you techniques on what to do - that is what u called structured. It is always good to learn from the people who have been in the field. In the process, you will save lots of time and money. You will also know which direction to take, and what it entails.

If you are serious and you have the money to invest on this, I would definitely agree with one of the posters here. Hire a professional coach; your coach will be able to guide you and walk you through the process of understand internet marketing down to its roots.
