Does anybody here work towards their goal of making money online?

Whenever people come into the Internet Marketing World they go straight and buy stuff, yeah thats alrite but, the problem is "they dont really do anything". They always get distracted by everything else, meaning, new products, offers etc etc. so their just buying stuff without actually DOING anything. It aint because they dont know what to do, the material is like right infront of you, but its just that you're too distracted by other things on the internet.

So, whats my point?

Get off the internet and do some work, the more you get distracted the more you're wasting time building your business. you got everything infront of you. just sit down with a pen and paper and write.
Your main goal is to take atleast one step to your Online goal even though its something little. Just do something.......

thats it, thanks for your time

All I really do online is market my business, I know exactly what to do everyday to generate leads, traffic and profits. After I do that I usually listen to audios or training programs, if I don't have a fun adventure planned that day

I completely agree with the step by step route. Have a clear overall goal but do everything possible to stop overwhelm.

Also, it's so important to stick at something. Someone somewhere said "test, tweak, test".
Just because something you try failed, doesn't mean it's a complete bust.

Isn't that kind of going backwards?

Get on your computer and focus. If you can't train yourself to do that then you have little chance of success generating any substantial online income.

If you have to start in small doses do it. Don't turn on your computer without a clear plan of exactly what you are going to do. Work as long as you can stay focused. As soon as you start to wander, turn off the computer for a while. Regroup and do it again.

I believe the real key to success is relentless, focused action.

Steven King talks about how when he really gets into something he's writing it's like there's a "hole in the page."

That's how I am when I'm building something online. The rest of the world kind of fades away.

If you can achieve that kind of focus and sustain it for long enough, you will succeed.

Funny you mention that as I just saw that there are 2000+ people viewing the for sales section and about 1000 this forum section

Most people seem to be looking for a quick fix and not scared to pay some money for it.

What they don't realize is that it often requires a lot more money then the few dollars they pay for the guide, unless they want to do everything their selves, which I actually recommend when you're just starting out, to learn the process and see what works and what doesn't.

      Excellent worded.

I see it myself as well when expanding something, first I'm seeing up against it but once I'm into it it's like I can't stop and thus a ton of work gets moved and often the sun starts to rise before I realize it.

I think everybody needs to start with gathering information and finding something that will work, but I remember when I was starting out, I would read ebook after ebook, report after report, and buy course after course and at the end, I would FEEL inspired and hopeful, like I actually ACCOMPLISHED something! It's really interesting psychologically. The "high" we get from a "new idea" can actually trick us into believing we're doing something and getting somewhere! In reality, like you said, it's the "work" that brings results! It's not as "fun" initially, but it's FAR more rewarding!

My shift was from buying all sorts of stuff that was promoted to me to a mindset where I now only buy courses/software that I need to move my business forward. I'll then go out and research the best rated in the market rather than buying the newest shiny model.

If I'm completely honest, I was a sucker for the new shiny "make 10k a month" products, when I first started, and the more I bought, the more overwhelmed I became. I had no focus and I had no goal - well, at least if I had a goal, it was a pipe dream and simply achievable at that stage of the game.
    Clear your mind of all the new shiny products, write down your goals (make them realistic - start small and keep revisiting/re-accessing), have your goals on a piece of paper on the wall or blue tacked to the computer (somewhere you'll see them when your working), and consider this;
"Is what I'm doing going to help me achieve my goal/s"

if yes, press on - if no, do something that is.

Dont think too big too soon. Small steps are the key to your success. You'll get there.

  • It's not the online distractions that make me lose my focus. Once I'm in front of a computer in my home office I usually don't have a problem working several hours straight.

My philosophy is to make sure I do at least a little bit of work a day. Every little task I tick off my list is an achievement because it brings me closer to my goal. And manageable to work a little bit every day, make it my habit to work, than to just work when I feel like it.

I get distracted when I'm working in the living room and my kid keeps tugging on my arm asking me to make her snacks, to find her toys, to play with her, etc. Especially now that school's out. She tries her best to stay away from my office when I'm working, but she's starting to get really bored.

There are too many distractions online especially in the IM niche, I suffered the shiny object syndrome for nearly two years until I found the business model I was happy and comfortable with, now I just focus on that first which is actually building my online income. I still look at other programs and software and if I see that it can help me in my business, I'll buy it.

I've made the most money online lying in bed after waking, for 30 to 45 minutes on most days.

I: meditate, affirm, visualize and speak a gratitude list. After aligning myself, I intend to create value and make connections, which moves me away from the Bright, Shiny Object Syndrome plaguing most folks.

I wasn't really in the buying habit but was in the passing from one new thing to the other. Always something new I found. I tried Clickbank and had one sale but the renounced it, then CJ no sale, then Fiverr a few sales. Now I am on Amazon and sticking to it. I want to focus. I make 4 sales so far but nothing consistent but not quitting.

The people want to know what works and not work and the exact steps to replicate success.
People want a simple and immediate way to gather infos about that service or website, want to know what is the cost and the way to earn money.

I create this site to resolve these problems and to give to my users new ideas to generate income:

    Great post.

Focus is a key factor in this and any business.

When I need to bang out a product, I go to my office, play some acid jazz, and crank it out the best I can.

Same would apply to any other method. I only buy products when I want to learn more deeply or get someone else's view on a certain topic. Even then I usually search for it on Youtube and go from there.

I have been working at serious part time internet marketing since January 2014. I made plenty of mistakes buying crappy traffic and chasing too many guru programs. I have an ambitious plan but a long term ramp up process. It do spend over 2 hours a day building something, tweaking something, and testing. It is always an improvement process. The days between sales are getting shorter so I am building momentum. I love doing it. I love building webpages. It allows me to be creative and hopefully I add value to someone's life when they buy a product I promote. The learning curve is unbelievable though and I see how some can hit a wall real quick. When my great ideas fizzle, I usually have something new to try that is better. Never give up.

The internet is a hobby to some and some people make it a life-changer. The only way to make money on the web is by trying at least. I've done a lot kind of like some that make little to no $$$; but, once you make some money--it'll never stop coming in once you make a little. The key to success is confidence and many have it. I've tried blogging, article writing, PPC, and a lot more just to get to the first sale. It's out there, just got to find it...

Many marketers fail because of this:

They complicate things by doing tons of work, following tons of methods, many of which they don't need just to make money online.

They try to follow so many marketing methods that they end up confused. And since they are confused, they end up being frustrated. And because they are frustrated, they QUIT.

Often, when a person does not experience INSTANT success with a marketing method, they look for another and quickly switch to a new strategy. When failure happens again, they switch to another, and so on. And on.

This is why 92% of online marketers fail.

They do not fully realize the potential of the marketing method because they quickly switch to another. This constant switching in strategies becomes a waste of time, money and effort.

Internet marketing and online work can eventually take a huge toll on you psychologically, especially if you have invested a lot financially, tried dozens of marketing methods, put in a lot of time and effort, only to see little or no reward.

Do not let this happen to you.

What you can do is to wisely invest in a short-term endeavor that will make you money in the long term. How do you do this?

You should look for a mentor who will help you learn the tricks faster and reach your goals quicker. Learning on your own can be daunting. With a mentor or a coach, you can determine the best strategy that will fit you and will realize financial gains for you immediately. In simpler words, you need a coach who will teach you how to learn how to make money NOW.

Whether in self-development, business, or Internet marketing, success can be quickly moved forward when you find a mentor or a coach. A coach can help you learn faster, develop skills more efficiently, and avoid making the same mistakes over and over again. A coach can help you understand what you need to learn, how to learn it, and the best time for you to execute what you have learned.

I really don't believe that this is for everybody and that a vast majority of those taking this endeavor up and then quitting do so because they believed incredible fast success stories but it did not happen to them as well. This takes a lot of work. Like any other job.

    Hey Blue

That's very well said So, My advice to Newbies is :

    Stage 1 : Affiliate Marketer :

    1.Choose a Market.
2.Build a list of interested subscribers in that market.
3.Provide massive value to this list of PEOPLE.
4.Introduce related products to this People.
5.Invest 50% of the profit made from commissions to build your list.

    Rinse and Repeat.

    Stage 2 : Product Owner :
The difference will be in Step 4 Only where you will introduce your list to your own product.

Its Simple and Easy If You PLAN and more importantly Put your plan into Action.

Set this as your wall paper. Or print out a copy like I did, laminate it, and hang it on your wall. Every day I wake up and look at this photo briefly.

I like the fact that it overwhelms me because that wakes me up. And I realize "I just have to pick 1 thing and get as much done as possible". But I don't pick something from the image. I make 30 day action plans and write 1 substantial task for each day (a "task" can have subsets of tasks). Then I put a check box next to each line. And I check them off as I complete things. Some tasks take 3 hours to do, some take 3 days. And I rarely finish all 30 every month. But I get the majority of them checked off, and thats a great feeling.

Finally, I try to enjoy life in between. That is important to keep you motivated. Work out, run, take care of yourself. Have just as much play time as you do work. 8 hours sleep, 8 hours work, 8 hours play. Take vacation more than your average person. Be happy.
