Do Good Quality Video Squeeze Pages Convert At A Higher Rate?

What is your opinion here?
I read that any videos over 90 seconds will turn a lot of people off.
Will a well-made, informative video presentation above optin box add to signup rates?

Or does simplicity rule?

Good question. The answer is relevancy.
If your offer is relevant to those visiting your squeeze page then they will probably watch your video - if it's good.
People who aren't too sure might not have the patience to watch.
It is really something you should test out.
But make sure it is relevant and offers value.

Don't forget those of us who can't stand video and want to just skim text in the shortest possible time to determine if the thing is worth me spending any more time considering it. If I end up on a squeeze page that is *only* video they have lost me before they've begun, my patience level is way too low and I'm outta there. I think if you can cater for people who respond to video with something that is engaging and appropriately long to get the message across without losing them along the way, and cater for others like me at the same time with a written version then you're onto a winner.

I like your thinking Dunkingbird - thanks for your comment! Giving people options is the best way to keep everyone happy.

I heard that. Most IM videos tend to be these 1 or 2 hour presentations for scams that just go on and on about how rich you are going to be and don't even tell you what it is they are selling until like the last minute of the video, and usually don't even tell you at all what it's about. Just that you'll make millions of dollars in less than 3 weeks, and stuff like that.

When I see one of those and find out it's longer than a few minutes when I hover my cursor at the bottom of the video, I am outta there. I also don't waste my time with few that don't show how long they are. If they don't show the length of the video, Im outta there as well.

It doesn't matter what the length is. I've seen opt-in videos that were 20-45 minutes long!
You have to test your market. If they respond better with videos or plain text.

Knowing your market is the key.

Tip: check out some of your competition through Click Bank or any other Affiliate market and see what they're doing. If they're a top seller and they are using video, then you know it responds well to the target market. Dominating a market takes some serious testing; so be sure do a bit of "spying".

It is a matter of testing. Although I have heard that is true generally, I have had one that the video did not convert to sign ups nearly as well as a simple email and name capture with a good headline.

It could. If not now then maybe later. Test and see. You'll get leads either way it goes... just make sure they are good leads.

in some niches it may work better. but usually if they see the opt in form right away before your video even starts playing, they may be more resistant to what you have to say on your video.

maybe some useful content with a delayed opt in box.

90% of video viewers are 'gone' after 3 minutes. Those are the stats. If you want to use video, great - keep it short and sweet. Transcribe the KEY points right below, so you're appealing to both types of viewer. And as mentioned, test, then test some more, then test again. Video is a sales tool in this business - it doesn't have to be the presentation tool.

The only way to know for sure is to test, and then measure it within your monetize platform. I would advise you to invest in a heat map, and tracking your clicks, and rotate between different squeeze pages. You would be surprised by the outcome of your experiments. Sometimes squeeze pages with no video out convert ones with video

Thank you. I asked my question as I wondered if any experienced Internet Marketer in Warrior Land had noticed a clear conversions pattern when it came to video squeeze pages. You know, like only when videos are under a minute, have strong production values, are sourced with a particular type of traffic etc, etc.

I agree that testing does need to be done but I was searching for the 'sweet spot' of squeeze page performance trends. Personally, I myself use a video squeeze page that converts very solidly. But I've never been 100% certain if that is because the video is a good one, or because the free gift is a $1500 constructed piece of print excellence, or because the entire squeeze page uses premium quality Manhattan photography with a floating centre?

It was too hard to deduct elements to see if I could work out exactly what was converting about the page. I like to copy great elements, that are working well, in future projects, where possible.

The simple, obvious, and correct reply, is use a video page and a text page. Then compare results.

How about a "squeeze page video" example? It's under 1 min. It points out the highlights. It closes with a "Call-To-Action".
