Pictures in Review Sites

I am about to start a review site- how can I go about finding pictures for the different products I will be reviewing? If a product is up for sale, does that mean the pictures the company puts up of it are automatically in the public domain? How does this work?

No, they are not in the public domain.

You may only use the product picture if they have given you the expressed
written agreement that you may use their pictures.

If you use any picture without the expressed written agreement even if you try to sell
that product they can sue you.

If you are an affiliate of a company then part of the affiliate agreement usually is that you may use certain images and only use them in a certain way.

If in doubt: assume that you have no right to use any picture.

    Always ask for permission first.

If you violate copyright laws the fine is up to $250,000 per instance. I have not seen any affiliate program that can make that much money with just one campaign so it is save to assume that it is not worth it to violate any copyright laws.
