Paid or Free Webinar For Conversions?

Hi Warriors!

I'm planning on selling high-ticket coaching in a webinar. I'm wondering if I should have the webinar either paid or free. Obviously I'll get more attendees with the free webinar.

Why would I want anyone on my webinar that hasn't purchased from me yet? The conversion rate has got to be much lower with a free webinar than with a paid webinar.

But then I need to consider how much money I'm paying for each person to be on the webinar. If I charge only $7 then I should be making close to even on the advertising costs. However, if the total number of people I can get on the webinar is too low to make the high ticket sale then I'm at a loss.

So much to consider!

I'd appreciate it if anyone has experience will doing paid vs free webinars and the conversion rate on both

Exactly! That's one reason I don't do webinars.

I think charging people to attend a seminar with plans to upsell them works for offline seminar and not online. That way you can justify the cost with light snacks or something. But in the online world, people expect FREE Preview. Not $7 preview.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Except its like you said. If it's offline, it's a seminar, not a webinar, and I thought Hustler was just asking about webinars.

Free webinars work great in selling higher-ticket products - I always introduce my $97 to $247 products that way.

Now, you can *also* sell paid web ticket events (ie, paid classes) Tanner Larsson does that and it flies off the shelves. It's simply another way of delivering paid content. And once the webinar is done, you can repackage the recording/audio/etc. and raise the price on the whole product for future sales.

    It's a very effective model.
