Help! Finding an on-line business that works.

Since 2005 I've dabbled in on-line businesses and never made any money. What I learnt is that in order to succeed on-line you:
1. Have to stick with it.
2. Have to find a business that works
3. Have to emulate someone who has been successful in that field.

I am at the point now where I HAVE TO succeed. I've looked at so many programmes online. I'd be prepared to buy one of them if only I was convinced they really worked.
Any recommendations for someone who's not IT savvy, but is prepared to learn!! I've been looking at ClickBank for a while but dont quite understand how it works. I was thinking of signing up for the ClickBank University course. Any solid suggestions would be really appreciated.. Jackie

There are MANY online businesses that work. In your own admission you've only 'dabbled'. Which means not sticking with something. And that's where so many struggle, because distractions are everywhere.
I'd highly recommend getting into a coaching program. Not just a basic member's area, but someone that offers regular feedback, pushes you and keeps you accountable. That'll force you to action, while keeping you on track.

Mark, thank you. Yes, I too have recognised that what I need is a mentor. I am prepared to put in the work. In fact I have no choice now but to put in the work.

Depends on what you want to do. If you want to resell other people's stuff as an affiliate, Clickbank is great, but most successful items have a lot of competition. Other options for affiliate sales are shareASale.com CJ.com and JVZoo.

If you have a product that you have created, then Clickbank is a great place to put it up at. There is also Warrior+, and JVZoo. JVZoo has one advantage, they don't charge any one time fees to put your product up--but they don't have as big of an affiliate base as the others, and they don't have a forum to help you make those affiliate relationships.

What do you want to do? Affiliate sales, or sell your own products?

        Jacc,

If you don't have a product yet getting a mentor will help you with that process.

Product creation comes down to two steps find a problem everyone is having, and then offer the solution.

Again, as what has been said before getting a coach would do this.

There is a wealth of info on here to put you in the right direction in terms of affiliate marketing and product creation. So take a look around, that search bar is and will be your friend

Eric, thank you for your advice. I've spent the last couple of days reading all i can on on this forum. A mentor is absolutely essential for me. I will waste too much time trying to do it on my own.

Dude, I've been there. For almost 10 years I "dabbled". I can also say that I've really kind of posted on this quite a few times.

    1) Simple landing page that offers something useful for a NICHE market (not IM)
    2) Make sure you have 5 to 7 days of pure content before selling anything
    3) Use forums (genuinely and honestly contribute put link to landing page in your sig), guest blogging, and if you have money facebook PPC to gain traffic to your landing page.

For what to sell ... that's pretty easy once you have a list. To start out with try to go for informational how-to products you can sell as an affiliate. Check out my "thanked posts" in my profile and quite a few of them give even more details on this.

That same process is really the same one used by most every single big dog you can possibly name (landing page of free offer, drive traffic to landing page, sell to the list ... it's THE secret, boiled down and distilled).

If you just USE YOUR AUTORESPONDER it means that once you have everything set up the only thing you have to think about is traffic generation (again, I have posts on that and there is an "all in one traffic tips" post you can check out that has a TON of traffic ideas.

    Hope this helps

You've learned well! Those 3 points above are 100% true... it's truly about sticking with it and going out there and finding what works, and what you can see yourself doing.

If you haven't already, look at a few different business models out there, get some basic knowledge on it, then pick 1, maybe 2, and then dig deep, getting as much training as you can... and then taking consistent action every single day on it... not expecting to get rich quick... but definitely being open to it happening.

There's a lot of good trainings out there... I get value from most of them... consider even getting a coach/mentor to help you, but really, only do this if you're serious and ready to put nose to the grindstone.

As internet marketers, we get so focused on the classic internet marketing techniques and methods which mostly depend upon joining some viable program or selling an affiliate product that we may fail to see outside of those choices There are ways to integrate traditional real estate investment business with internet marketing.
For instance I responded to a "What to do if you are desperate" thread with a simple idea.

    http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post8915020

There are other ways to utilize your internet marketing skills with other traditional businesses that pay well. You could PM for some other info if you care to.

Agree with the other Warriors! Being mentored by someone who is already doing what you want to do, and seeing success with it, is something you should seriously consider.

But first you must decide WHAT you want to do and from what you've said so far affiliate marketing is a good fit for you.

Do you currently have any knowledge, skills and or experience is a specific subject that you can help others with? If so, start a blog around that topic.

Build an audience by targeted keyword phrases in your content, building an email list and being active on social media and in niche related communities.

You can sell affiliate products (that you've used or at least tested) in your content with conversational selling. When you are YOUR own target market, it's so much easier to monetize your site.

In the early day, you may want to consider Google AdSense as a form of monetization.

    Hope that helps!
    Kerry

Everything that you continuously see in the Internet works. Why else people will bother doing it?

Just take the action and stick with only one thing until you make some cash. Perseverance is the key for success

There's nothing that will get you off your butt more effectively than finding a mentor, a good mentor at that.
I've done my share of dabbing about until I hired a coach to help me focus on one thing and actually making money from it.. focus is critical, without it all you'll do is dab.
That's why a mentor is important, because they've been to the deep end of the internet marketing swimming pool, without their leadership you'll find yourself stuck in the shallow end.

    Cheers..

I totally understand. In fact, I have been in business online since 2013, and I didn't make a $ until 2014. But once you do, it will continue and you will want to make even more. There are some really quality programs and tons of time-wasters too. Research programs using WF before investing in one. Narrow down the best and least risky programs and take the plunge. Always keep a Return on Investment (ROI) in mind before making ANY purchases. Lastly, try to build a portfolio of businesses. This way, if one is not functioning properly it's not your only income stream. Good luck and "Go Out and Get Active."
