Frustration will make you fail... Stop it ASAP!

FRUSTRATION... I believe that's one of the major problems of most beginners.

A quick analysis will show that this theory makes sense... I'll list below the main problems that lead people to failure in this business and then let's try to see how they relate to frustration.

* Lack of focus - people tend to try many things and end up never really finishing anything... most people do it because they are frustrated with their lives and want an instant, almost magic solution and can't focus on one thing for more than a few days.

* Lack of persistence - if the campaign isn't profitable on the first day it's crap and should be deleted. People get frustrated too fast about the campaigns and promotions and don't take the time to test variations and find winning combinations. I believe this is a problem that affects all areas, but in the CPA industry it's even worse.

* Lack of confidence - after trying many different methods and techniques people lose the trust on other as well as on themselves. The stop believing that the dream of building an online business can come true. They get frustrated with their failures and say good bye to the life they always wanted to live.

I won't continue, because I don't want to make this post super long, but my point is:

DON'T GET FRUSTRATED SO EASILY

Be professional, face this internet marketing thing as a business and don't let your feelings take you out of the right path.

I have never seen anyone becoming successful in business by moaning and complaining. Have a direction, use your own dreams to feel motivated and make your decisions based on realistic arguments.

Your feelings can be the toughest obstacle to overcome in the "success road", so keep yourself under control and don't get frustrated so easily.

    How true it is....
I can really relate to the first point very easily. Many a times, I lose my focus along the way and at the end of the day....I just end up with frustration with the bad feeling of wasting all day today without done any productive work. So, In my case the real issue is "Lack of Focus"

I believe that lack of focus is an attitude, not a condition or a feeling. The attitudes come from a feeling (or decision, but I don't think it's your decision not to have focus), so if you don't stay focused it's because a feeling (which may be something else and not frustration in this case) impels you to do so.

For that reason, I believe that lack of focus is always a consequence, not a cause.

I see that type of "frustration" as inspiration. When we are not satisfied with our situation and truly decide to change, we are get inspired, motivated to change.

However, the frustration I was referring to is the one that people use as an excuse to moan and complain about things without taking real action.

Frustration is part of the game, you will never grow without it! The more frustration you are able to encounter and overcome, the more lessons you learn and the more mature you become.

Nah, for most people the condition of being frustrated carries negative emotions and that can cloud our judgement. Training yourself to be as "good feeling" and inquisitive as possible is far stronger.

Standing back from the situation and asking yourself "Wow, how can i overcome or get around this?"

Don't ask it while in an angry state, but in a good spirited curious way where you become genuinely curious and almost playful and positively expectant on the outcome.

From experience the universe tends to pull things together such that a question made in good spirit will get answered, perhaps not in the way that you ever thought would be the case.

I've experienced it time and time again. Negative emotions will attract negative to you. I'm working to eradicate it from my life, and I think other's should too.

Notice I'm not talking about negative situations rather than negative emotions. One is a reaction to the other, don't confuse the two. You can control one, but often not the other

    What an excellent thread!

For most of us it takes at least a year of consistent effort to learn how to walk. And we work at it EVERYDAY until we finally get it.

We fail everyday for that entire year and the only reasons we succeed are:

    1. We keep at it
    2. We learn from our mistakes and make adjustments

This is how we should approach building an online business. Focus is that skill to master now. Don't think of failure as having anything to do with what YOU are capable of.

One of my favorite quotes (I can't remember where I read it) is:

"There is no failure, only feedback"

Have a great and prosperous day guys!

I'm still frustrated... can't as much get as much food, sex, and water as i want everyday. Money is fine though. I used to get frustrated with an aspect in IM and then quit altogether... then start it again 2 months later once i'm not "burned out" anymore. Now i just leave it up and let the automation take over. I have no time for the small details.

I think that hits on my issues in self-motivating as well. As heavysm said, there's huge importance in being able to approach frustration with a clear, flexible, almost playful mind--being able to puzzle out the details of your frustration and turn it into a win.

So, I think something that I'm growing in is learning how to work the "step away." They're key to keeping yourself refreshed and preventing burn-out, but too much and they can be a huge laziness promoter. The struggle is real! :p

I think that "being not satisfied" is important, but we can never allow the to become frustration. I believe that's almost the same thing of what heavysm said.

Such an inspiring, motivating post, man. I'll tell you what frustrates me. I'm at that awkward place of growth where I'm right there- so close. But I don't have the skills to take it to the next level. I'm at that place where I need to start out-sourcing all the conversion-related stuff that I'm doing "ok" with but not well enough. I create sales pages and pop-ups and opt-in forms and auto-responder sequences, etc. all on my own from things I've learned here. But I do most of it using templates and plug-ins and such.

I find myself getting hopelessly bogged down sometimes just trying to make a simple change to a sales page, or something similar. And when I get one up, it does convert ok, but it just doesn't quite that sizzle it needs to increase conversions. I think my whole funnel has that problem.

So it's the old catch-22, where you need to start out-sourcing this kind of thing but you're really not making the money yet to do it. And people say "you can't afford NOT to do it". I totally get that, but that saying doesn't put the money in my pocket to do it!

So everything for my main website at themusicministrycoach is just "right on the verge of being hugely successful", as I've been told by a couple of the successful warriors here who have been kind enough to take a look. The model is a 6 figure model, I'm told. But I just can't seem to get it there. Traffic generation, my sales funnel, sales page, copy, etc are all just "right there" but not quite good enough. And that is very frustrating. Being so close yet so far is maddening.

Frustration is part of the issue some of us face. Sure I have found my self getting frustrated over setting up all the aspects of Wordpress blog, sending a ton of letters out and getting zero response for starters.

Then there is the stuck stage. I wouldn't wish this on anyone. Wake up in the morning all full of intent and then wham...the couch calls my name in a seductive voice, telling me a nap while listening to music would be the best start to the day. And so it goes all day long and I tell myself, well I can always write after dinner. Nope.

I've tried many methods to get out of this frustration, stuck or whatever you want to call it situation but nothing has worked for me so far. I've tried to read Tony Robbins books from start to finish and after 20 odd tries or so, hasn't happened. I've tried those subliminal tapes, going to a NLP Master and on and on.

I want to have the work ethic of a Tiffany Dow, now if only I could Honey Badger myself.

Any tips from someone with the same issue would be great.

I say this a bit tongue and cheek for me lack of focus isn't an attitude or an emotion, its a 2 yr old.

I do believe alot in what the orginal poster said, i'm so desperate to make something work, I get deflated very easily, some days are better then others, some days I feel I can do it, others I have no idea.. I just know i need to make something happen quickly.

One of the things that's easier said then done is implementation, for some people it's easy, they can do it no problem.. some people like me .. my inspiration is bigger then my implementation.. it's easy to say "just do it" its not always so easy to do so. I know what I want to do in my head but getting from here to their feels like a huge task.

I think i have ADD or something like that... if i'm focusing on a very tunnel vision task like fixing a computer or playing WoW i'm there full force, but anything broader and I can't find one end from the other which if one is trying to make money on the internet is not a good thing.

Great post. Frustration is natural. Once can try to reduce it but it cannot be avoided fully as most of the time it depends on the circumstances beyond one's control.

    Be professional,
This is the frustration creator. People with no knowledge, training or experience thinking all they have to do is show up.

If I were to try to compete with pro. footballers or Nascar drivers I bet my frustration level would be high and quick hitting.

Professionals understand there is a learning curve, investment required (time and money), and potential failures before success.

People who expect unrealistic results often fall victim to frustration.

William said it right. We can't just slap up a site within a few days -- or even in a few weeks -- and expect it to suddenly make a sustainable income. Unless we get lucky, we have to put a lot of work into it at first. However, if you have the means, you can find excellent outsourcers for cheap prices.

I agree that frustration is a major set back. A lot of it comes down to mindset and the way you interpret these set backs and consequently how you react to them. I highly recommend reading 'The Magic Of Thinking Big' by David Schwartz, which has really opened my eyes.
