Need Help, Potentially Losing Tons of Sales!

I have a site ranking, for some keywords on first and second page of G.

Atm its only getting around 1400 visitors per month as its a very small niche

The products I am affiliating for the most part can only be bought online. Theres also not much reason to search for reviews or what not, what you see is what you get.

On average there about $20 each and I have only sold 1 item in a month. It doesnt make sense to me that conversions are so low.

To my surprise I am sending about 300-500 click throughs to the affiliates store per month. No shady contextual anchors, these are "buy now" buttons so user knows whats up, again makes little sense why conversions suck.

Heres the problem:

The store ships worldwide and is located out of UK. By default, regardless of geological location, the currency GDP is displayed until you click the small US flag at the top right corner of screen to change displayed currency.

I dont know about others, but personally I would probably bounce off that site at the first sign of foreign currency.

I feel this may be while CTR -> Sales are so low.

Besides getting another affiliate site, what can I do?

I was thinking of providing a screenshot on each sales page to say "click here on us flag for usd currency". But thats a bit of a bother.

Who knows, it can be commission shaving,
you can try sending that traffic to a different
offer/vendor and see if it makes a difference.

    Good Luck!

    Sounds a little odd indeed.

The greatest thing is you own the traffic. Try swapping out the product with another and see if your commissions go up.

It could be commission shaving or it could simply be that the shopping cart page look shady to the potential buyer. If there's no buyer protection seal or PayPal logo many would-be buyers will just abandon the shopping cart.

At the worst point you can sell banner ad space using Buy Ads | BuySellAds or similar

    Good luck

I don't send traffic traffic to opt in pages anymore. I Do This instead...

Try using for a month Amazon products. The reason I recommend Amazon is because they are so big and some of their products might fit your nice. See what happens in that month. If you get more sales it might be something wrong with that affiliate product you promote.

        AA,

If most of your visitors are from outside the UK, it's probably the shipping costs and the time it would take the product to arrive that's putting them off, rather than simply the currency.

If your traffic is mostly from the USA, try to find a US-based supplier. Or otherwise concentrate your efforts on building traffic from the UK.

Personally, I don't think the issue with the initially incorrect currency would be a drama for most people. Ok, it might be for some, but most people who buy online are used to having to switch currencies at times.

Like the other guys have said, maybe swap it out for another offer. Perhaps select an offer with a different price point. It could be that the $20 is too high or low a price for whatever the product is.

Other than that, as others have said, be sure the product you choose has a totally legit looking shopping cart with the usual payment security features.

      Hope this helps

Use a good link cloaker to ensure you are not getting click jacked. If your buy now buttons show affiliate ids, that would definitely be worth changing!

Try using a different vendor, see if it makes any statistical difference. Personally I wouldn't really care about the currency in which the product is listed in as GDP is not too foreign.

Could be that the wrong traffic is coming through- you're getting clickers but not buyers.

Is it worth getting these people's emails on to a list so you can do a little more relationship building before hitting them with the offer?

This is what I would do.

Instead of trying to sell them, try to get them to opt-in. Put a lightbox on your site offering a killer freebie. Once you have them you can test different offers, poll them to find out what they want and will pay for, etc.
