If you had a goal of finding clients that would pay $5,000/mo for your Online Marketing Services...

Where would you look?

I'm confident I can provide that amount of value (even over deliver) with my skills, but its the part of finding them that seems to be a pain.

I'm not exactly living in a city that is looking for the skills I have. This place is pretty behind in the times.

Can I strictly connect with people online to get something set up? Seems like most people prefer face to face..

I know, I know, just try it but I don't wanna waste my time if its not effective. I work best with some basic framework/protocol of how to go about it.

I'd like to hear a bit more from experienced Warriors on here about the best way they've found to get clients.

Thanks for any insight, much appreciated!

What skills do you have that you want to offer?

If you have great SEO skills, or other online marketing experience, and have an English/American passport, try Dubai.

My skills are online marketing. Mostly community building, brand building, establishing a content marketing strategy that will drive leads and customer awareness.

I've heard good things about Dubai, though I'm not exactly looking to randomly fly out there at this time

Good thing too. You can't randomly fly there. you need to have an invitation, either from a company, or a family.

Good thing for me is I am a young white british person, and I live with a couple of housemates who are here on student visas from saudi arabia. Thy say if I ever want to get into saudi arabia let them know and they will host me at there family home (very hospitable but people over there are)

Moral of the story start making friends with people you meet from places like Saudi Arabia, let them tell you how it is over there.

      Frank,

It goes without saying that you ought to be looking for businesses that are aligned with needing desperately the services that you can provide.

We don't know what your marketing skills are or how you plan to offer great service ...

      But consider this ...

Businessmen/women are only going to invest a large amount of money in a monthly service that will raise their bottom line more than what it costs for that service. So if I were you, I would focus on marketing to business owners who you can show will have a directly proportional increase in income as a direct result of your efforts.

My guess is . . . you're going to have to begin on a smaller scale and prove you are worth $500 or $1,000 per month on a consistent basis then ramp up to eventually hit $5,000/mo once you're got a stellar track record and can prove your worth at the lower output levels.

Focus on laser-targeting your prospective clients. Go after the one. A $5,000/month budget for marketing is a pretty hefty sum for most small businesses. It's certainly doable, but you're going to have to prove your worth in terms of bottom line ROI.

      The very best to you,

      Steve

I've had a couple invitations. Dubai always strikes me as a bit cultish in their recruiting, which kinda turns me off, no offense

Right, I understand the amount is high for small businesses. That's why I'm thinking they are probably not quite the right fit.

I'm looking for someone that has all the technical/production processes down, but needs a better online presence and online marketing/sales channel.

I have a documented track record of the growth and metrics I have achieved. I don't have a long list of clients I have worked with though, so that might be a bit of an issue.

Providing actual bottom-line value is obvious. That's what I do. I comb through and shed strategies that aren't producing results.

I suppose I'm just looking for the best way to get in front of businesses looking for this.

Interesting. Why Dubai in particular? Is there a good market for high end SEO there?

@OP: I handled the SEO for a financial sector UK company not too far back. That paid $10k per month for many months but it started at $750 per month until they saw results and were happy to scale up. Thing is, I was introduced to them by a mutual friend.
I would advise you to make a list of every single person you know. Keep going back to the list and adding to it for several weeks (yes, really). You will keep coming up with more and more names. Someone in that list will probably be able to hook you up through someone THEY know.

Write letters to local businesses talking about the faults of their websites, rankings, and social media standings. Write about how effective all of those platforms are, and talk about how much you can do for the business. Send out a lot of these letters and your bound to get at least a few back.

I did this myself and after about a month I was hired by two different companies.

Thanks for the reply. I suppose I'm looking for a slightly larger clients.

You might want to check in the Offline Marketing section. Lot's of experience there.

A quick suggestion that will work:

It doesn't matter what you know. It matters what you know how to do. So instead of trying to convince companies they should trust your abilities, you can demonstrate your abilities and then the sale is easy.

Decide what market you are going after and build a system that attracts their customers. When you do this you will have conversion rate data, ad spend data, and the whole system will be proven and working.

Then when you approach the prospect, you can simply point at the results you are already getting, and what that will mean to them.

Then, you just target that type of company worldwide, selling the same system over and over again.

propose to sell for $5K/mo to find prospective clients?

From my experience I would say the easiest way to find perspective clients is to find any business conference in your area. Once you get there talk to people, let them talk about their business for a while. People love to talk about themselves so why not let them right? Once you get the full perspective of their business find a way that you could offer them something they need. Even if you don't get their business then give them a business card and get theirs. They may realize you were right down the road and give you a call. If they don't wait about 10-20 days and give them a call. If you are persistent and they have given it some thought you are likely to get their business. If not you still made a contact. Networking is everything, so go out there and gettr' done!

    Best of luck
