Your best CTA tactics?

I'm just finishing my new book and I'd like to get your input about this, if you don't mind.
As you might know, classic "Buy now" buttons don't perform well, as CTAs have to be paired with prospects' expectations, e.g. fixing his or her problem. We would use CTAs to answer to a prospect's number one question throughout the process, "what's in it for me?"
For example: if you're selling a diet program, maybe you would use cta like "Lose 10 pounds now", instead of "Buy now".
I'd like to ask, what CTA tactics did or do you use on your landing pages and what works for you, so please share. Thanks!
