Selling a Clickbank Product - Newbie

Let's say I want to sell a Clickbank product. What are the normal, experienced IMer's procedures?

Am I right in thinking it is as follows:

1. Choose a product (let's say a dating ebook)

2. Set up a landing page/squeeze page and offer an incentive to acquire email addresses (e.g. a free report)

3. Drive people there using targeted Facebook ads, Google ads etc.

4. Give good information to the list, gaining trust and becoming an authority

5. Sell the product(s) through email

Is this one way to sell Clickbank products or have I got this totally wrong?

Thanks!

That sounds like a very good method to promote Clickbank products. You will find that many Clickbank vendors will also provide banners and other images to use on web pages as well as sample emails and text links.

Sounds like a plan - exactly the way I started pretty much - however your results will be based on how WELL you do those 5 steps.

Make sure your free report for your list building is GOLD and that the traffic is VERY targeted and sounds like an awesome start!

That's about right Anthony. If you prefer you could monetize instantly to recoup your advertising expenses right away. The way you do this is by sending them to a "thank you" page which says "Thank you for ordering, your report has been sent to you.", meanwhile, check out this offer(link). The link will direct them to the sales page of your Clickbank product. Good luck!

Yup, that sounds perfect. Traffic is the key here. If you have the money to spare, you can go ahead with Google adwords or Facbook ads (There are plenty of other paid traffic solutions too - PPC, PPV etc). But, there is a big learning curve associated with it, and there is a chance that you'll lose more money than you earn during your learning period. So, you have to be ready for that.

There are free methods of course (I'm sure you've read the list of free traffic methods a number of times in this forum), but the results tend to come in slower with free methods.

So, pick what's best for you, and stick with it until you get good at it and see results. They all work. Good luck!

I started a week ago with the same structure on FB and works very well.. The golden goose is laser targeted traffic!

Just one thing: On FB you can drive traffic direct on squeeze page which is integrated direct in your fan page.. With that method you can save a lot of money..

I don`t agree totally with you. Your FB page isn`t structured to become the best squeeze page. I don`t like how you structure the content on a FB page. Just drive the traffic to another page, that would be my advice.

Thanks for the amazing replies so far.

If you have a squeeze page for a Clickbank product (a product you don't own or didn't make) do you have a website related to that product too? I mean a website that gives solid information that gives you more authority and gains trust.

Or is it simply a squeeze page plus emails that gains trust and authority?

        Hey Anthony,
I have been Blogging for 6 years and have always seen first hand the benefits and the amount of income you can make with as solid Website/blog.

But honestly, as time goes by I am getting away from it. And I know a lot of people here will disagree with me but I just do not have a need to establish a Site for my email marketing and List building.

And from my experience, the reward/work ratio is not high enough to warrant creating one .

I still have 18 blogs I work on and make money from but my main biz is solely email marketing, and I plan to NOT have a Site to compliment it.

        That's just me.

(And you can definitely gain Trust and Exposure just thru email marketing. Sometimes more so than connecting with people on a blog or FB.)

But it definitely will NOT hurt to have a Site to go hand in hand with your List building and selling affiliate products.

          Hi Robert
I`m totally disagree with you in terms of that we don`t need a website in order to do internet marketing business especially for a long-run business, and how come we can build our email list without considering the number one source of targeted traffic, it`s SEO. That does not mean i disagree with that the email marketing is the best and fast way to make money online but with some good investment " spend money to make money"

It's not mandatory but highly advisable. A website allows you to brand yourself and also provides you with another source of traffic (you can get people to opt in via your website). Having said that there are MANY marketers who don't even have their website, who rely solely on email marketing making a lot of money. Different strokes for different folks Depends on how much time you have and your end goals.

As a Newbie you seem to have a good grasp and a good blueprint for what to do. Now you just need to put everything into action ( if you haven't already).

Also, along with FB and PPC you might want to invest in some quality Solo Ads to get things jump started !

    Never hurts from my experience

Anthony, there are thousands of products in the ClickBank marketplace. If you're new to affiliate marketing, it would be easier for you to first target a market before choosing a product.

Find a topic or niche that interests you and one in which you think you can create some useful content. Be sure that niche contains enough buying customers, and that you're confident you can reach those customers cost-effectively.

Once you have that in place and you know what your market wants, finding suitably targeted products will be much easier - and you'll have greater success at converting your traffic.

Hi Anthony, you got the process pretty much right Try focusing on free ways also such as YouTube marketing - I absolutely love this method!

When building your lists be sure you are creating quality targeted leads. Just an example, when creating a Facebook campaign, by having your advert in front of an audience that liked a group called 'I like doughnuts' doesn't mean you are targeting an audience that loves doughnuts! You need to think outside the box and ensure you are going to have your advert in front of a ''hungry'' audience for a better conversion rate. It takes time to achieve better results which is why it might be good to focus on some free traffic generation methods for the time being.

Also in anything you do, provide value over pitching a product ... sales follow naturally! In your case, since you are promoting affiliate products, I suggest you mention the cons and not just the pros about a product you are selling. It makes people see you as a real person and not someone just creating hype!
