Help with PDF Programs

Hi everyone, I'm trying to create a PDF file much like the one here - http://www.jobsite.co.uk/downloads/r...-info-pack.pdf

I'm curious as to what programs are available to create a PDF like this - Is it done in publisher or word? Are there special programs I can buy like a PDF designer?

All help much appreciated,

Thanks a lot,

Alex

The easiest way to create one is by using Microsoft word. There is free plugin called Doro pdf and just save as a pdf file.

My problem with word is that if I want to make it look good, sort of like the PDF file I linked to, will it be hard to do so? Creating columns etc?

    Thanks,

I used to create all my PDFs from Word but then would encounter some links NOT translating across.

So I now use the free Open Office

Apache OpenOffice - The Free and Open Productivity Suite

    and it's *grand*. Very powerful.

    Lots of free templates too:

    Apache OpenOffice Templates

Heck, Microsoft Office gives templates too:

    Word Templates - Office.com

    Hope that helps!

Awesome, I didn't know you could find templates like that! I actually use open office ( prefer it to word!) so will definitely be checking that out.

      Thanks for your help,

MicroSun makes a very good alternative to MS Word.
    It is a free download.
In Open Office Writer ( the equivalent of Word) under "Format" , there is a selection for "Columns". Here you can make your own template and create a doc as you have described. Open Office Writer converts well to PDF, see the PDF icon in the header fro this.

The only problem is , I'm not a very computer-creative person, and struggle to create decent designs! I've taken a look at some of the templates, but the one' I've looked at are mainly just the title page & a template for the rest of the other pages - I take it there's no visual editor / drag and drop kinda program where you can create PDF files? I'm willing to pay for the right program!

    Many thanks,
