How big should my list be....

Before I should start offering to swap clicks with folks. You know, as seen on safe swaps. Anyone doing this? Anyone experienced enough this to answer this?

    All depends on your list.
You may have a small list which is very responsive to your emails..
and then again.. you may have a huge list which isn't !
You first need to create a list.. & nurture that list.
Make sure they Know.. Like.. & Trust you.

In my opinion I would not do this as I don't know what I am going to get, my tip would be for you to go set up traffic campaigns and just build your current list. I would keep your list because you know your list.

I was wondering about that. I have a very low unsub rate. I shouldn't throw that out the window by sharing them with everyone under the sun unless selling clicks is primary mo...which it isn't.

If you have a very low unsubscribe rate that means they like your stuff but the question is what is your email open rate??

It depends on the email. I have 22. My lowest is 0. My highest is 21%.

I've been a member of safe-swaps for over a year and I have swapped a lot as well as sell solo ads. On safe swaps - you can start swapping with a very small list - even just 200-300 (but that would only give each of you a couple of clicks and it's hardly worth it). And be aware that if you swap aggressively you will burn out your list VERY fast.
It sounds like your current list has been nurtured by you and it would be a pity to bombard them with swap messages. Might be better to join some of the facebook groups and find swap partners or even clickbanking partners and swap very selectively with good quality offers - A minimum swap would usually be for 50 clicks. If you could deliver 50 clicks over 48hrs to start with - you should be able to find swap partners (but screen their offers to make sure its something you want sent to you list).

you can start swapping clicks when you can generate 50 clicks in a 24 hour period. this can be 1 email or at most assisted with a 2nd email to unopens

if you average a 2% CTR you will need 2500 subscribers to send 50 clicks with 1 email.

I've understood that you won't need a big list to start swapping..
Like auseek had mentioned, it really depends on their responsiveness, and their responsiveness depends on your relationship with them..

    Cheers!

How big should it be for what?

You obviously want to keep growing your list but at the same time a bigger list isn't always a better list.

Adding everyone and anyone to your list just for the sake of the numbers growing isn't ideal if 90% of those people are unqualified and don't open / click / take action.

You only want active subscribers on your list who WANT to receive your emails and enjoy reading them otherwise it's nothing but hitting the spam box, being delete and unsubscribes.

If you are going to build a large list and offer solo ads, you should make sure that you can deliver on your promise to your customers on how many unique clicks they are going to buy from you.
