I am going to build a membership site for my product. Anyone have any recommended software for me to use? Any free software is also recommended!

Thanks in advance!

I use the free version of S2member for all of mine. I custom code a few things for my own use within s2member posts to suit my specific content display needs.

I like Amember. Real simple, but very dynamic.

Off topic, but for some reason your avatar reminds me the hide your wife, hide your kids guy.

Is the membership site only accessible by people who purchased the product or is the membership site the product? What kind of engagement do you want the user to have (i.e. forums, drip-content, videos, downloads)?

      Hi Alice,

Having suffered many bad experiences with various membership site programs, in the past, I now use MemberGate, developed by Bill Myers many years ago and thus battle-tested and so totally bug-free.

Over the, nearly three years I've been using it, I've never had a single technical glitch.

And - unlike many other membership software programs it is a complete site, rather than one that simply bolts on the the front of a ordinary web site.

That means you can get on with providing your members with more of what they signed up for, instead of constantly having to fiddle with code.

Yes, it is relatively expensive at $197 a month, but the best usually works out the cheapest in the long run.

And NO - I'm not an affiliate ... just a very enthusiastic user!

Good luck with your membership site (regardless of what software you eventually end up using!).

If you want to stack the copywriting deck in your favor with tricks and hacks producing winners like: "$20K in three days" "650 sold" "30% conversion", then you might like to know I'm retiring and will spill the beans to two people. More info here.

I like your enthusiasm. That goes a LONG way to success. Also checked out your website and looks like a lot of good stuff in there. I am familiar with Membergate and it is a great piece of software. It is interesting to see what you've done with it!

    Hey Alice.

The Butterfly Script is a free membership software, but it depends on your needs.

And I do think you get what you pay for. Not too sure I'd use anything free for a paid membership product.

I've worked with Digital Access Pass and Wishlist. I preferred the later one because I found it much easier to use.

    Hope that helps!

Wow, that is a lot if suggestion!

I wanted a simple membership site which need the user to enter user name and password to go into the site. If the client refund, he will kick out of the membership site.

Easy to add content from time to time.

    Thats is my requirement.

Free will be great! Anymore suggestion?

    Alice,
s2member is free and it does what you want.

The other good one is EasyMemberPro but that is not free.

    Hi,

It really depends on the features you need your membership site to include, as different software have different features.

I would recommend you to go over some of the ones recommended here are check their features.

    BTW, I'm using Wishlist Member

s2Member is one of the WordPress membership plug-ins I use daily and you can't beat the price.

      Important Tips:

      1) Make sure your website host is perfectly compatible. I use BlueHost.com.

      2) Make sure you do DataBase Backups multiple times per day & clone the website a minimal of one time a day. Note that a clone is better than a backup. I use WordPress Database Backup 6 times per day and Backup Creator from BackupCreator.com (paid).

      Important, but optional tips:

      1) The login page should be direct to (or) redirect to a welcome page. Your members may need directions and you can add additional promotions.

      2) Create a 'whats new' page for your email campaigns (default link) & your 'welcome page' inside your membership site.

      3) Offer paid members incentives such as discounts on all products. This helps with membership retention.

      4) Giveaway products to paid members. Also, helps with membership retention.

      Hope it helps.

      Jeffery 100% :-)

This is what I use for my membership sites currently...

    FusionHQ Internet Business Platform

It's not "free", it fact it's pretty pricey. However, it includes everything you need to run a successful membership site such as autoresponder, cloud hosting, drag and drop sales funnel builder etc...

It's pretty powerful and also integrates with Clickbank and Warrior Plus.

    Good luck.

    Cheers,
    Coby

  • I use wishlist member it's doesn't have everything I dream about but it works. I have optimize press 2.0 has member part but haven't used it yet, I have a feeling it can work as well. Wishlist does everything in order to get started and selling that I can vouch for
