It's all about the money ain't it?

Scuse me... pardon me... comin thru... thank you very much and now please allow me to be steppin up on this here soap box for just a moment...

Am I the only dadburn person who is sick and tired of all the lies and misrepresentations that folk in the IM biz tell each other? It's like we is all piranha in one big tank and all we do is feed off each other!

Guess how many times I been seein folks in this here forum askin for help on how to get themselves a pot full of money and if you look at their signature it says, "Follow me to the big pot of money!" I said GUESS, dadburnit!!! Well, there is a lot of em!

Folks, ole Thad is gonna tell you a great big secret but I do not want you tellin anyone else about it. This here is just between you and ole Thad! Shhhhh... the secret is that there is a big ole world out there just full of folks that is ready to buy stuff and they don't give an whiddlysniff about internet marketeering!

Them folks want to buy shoes and clothes and toys and fishin stuff like dynamite and jewelry and all sorts of thangs! Why are you wastin your time on sellin to each other?

You need to grow you some legs on your little piranha body and walk on over to the pond next door. Well, actually, I guess you would call it an ocean since it is so big! THAT is where you is gonna find you lots of fish to sell to!

This here reminds me of when my good friend Cletus went huntin with his good friend Homer. They was sittin round the fire when Cletus stood up and said, "Well, any folks round here ready to go do some huntin?" Wellsir, ole Homer jumped up and said, "I'm game!" and so Cletus shot him!

Mr. Rudyard Kipling once said, ""We're all islands shouting lies to each other across seas of misunderstanding."

Take from ole Thad's message what you want to take but just keep it in mind!

Ya'll come on back here, ya hear?

You are so right Thaddaeus T. Hogg. I wish, however, I could write with your flair and character.
I love the niches that other people do not ever consider or look at. It means that I have a lot less competition.

    Thanks

    Too funny, Thad!

I'm laughing too hard to try and sell something now

This is the very first thing I tell coaching clients - that there's lot's of 'ponds' to fish in - everyone doesn't need to be focused on the 'Big IM Lake'.

Keep those words of wisdom comin'!

      lol great writing...

Your either a buyer or a seller and people buy what they want, not so much what they need. If your not selling someone else is.

IM is a niche like any other niches, and although I do agree with you, what you say there can be said in any other niches about info products. So you are a great fisherman, why sell lies to other fishermen when you could sell clothes ? Does that sound right ? because if you change the fishing niche with IM it`s basically exactly what you just said.

      Thad,

Nice post and even nicer prose. I'm curious, are you selling a lot of products? Do you speak from consistent personal experience as a successful salesman?

Because I have to tell you, your experience is not what I have experienced.

You seem to be saying anyone without skill in selling should be able to make a killing by peddling physical products online outside the IM niche. I have not found that to be the case at all.

Great sellers, in my experience, get that way because of the systems they set up with specific selling strategies, traffic generating plans, compelling copy, and a good secure payment system.

Certainly, anyone can learn these things. Heck, some people stumble upon them and see success. Some do it by trial and error. Others learn via a mentor. Still others work at it for many years before they finally figure things out. All these successful sellers are doing the same things right.

They may not call themselves internet marketers and may not claim to know anything about internet marketing . . . but . . . regardless of what you call it, if they are selling things and making a good profit they are doing internet marketing.

I have found that buyers (consumers) are more discriminating than ever these days. With so many buyer choices and options online, most sellers don't have a clue about marketing and it shows in their results.

HUH??? That makes absolutely no sense at all. IMers lie all the time, both to each other and to their customers and potential customers. Fisherman don't sell lies. IMers do. You are comparing apples and oranges.

    Awesome post!

The Internet is just a medium of communication.

There is no "Internet Marketing" so to speak - more "marketing using the Internet" - the markets and the "marketing" stay pretty much the same both online and off.

A lot of people that do well at selling online come from a sales background, although you don't need too - it helps.

Well young fellar, let me ask you... would you go fishin without any bait? Nope! Would you play quarterback on an NFL team without studyin the playbook? Nope! Would you sip moonshine if it didn't have any rattlesnake venom in it? Nope! You see, if you don't know what your doin in the "make money online" niche then you might as well be fishin without a hook cause the results will be the same!

Oh, right... Heeelllooo World of Warriors!

Although I do agree for the most part, people need to focus on those outside of the IM niche.

However, there still needs to be a good influence within the IM niche to teach those people how to bait properly cus I saw a couple young bucks out by the ocean tossin in rocks think'n they'd catch some big fish...

It's been this way since the beginning and it's not going to change any time soon. People start out with good intentions, I think. When things don't work out the way they expected, they begin to notice a pattern and they learn to do to others what was just done to them. Lie, steal and cheat. It's the easy way out but it's also the road to destruction.

There's a very significant number of WSO's on this forum being provided by people who've never made a penny out side of WSO's they sell. Many haven't even made a penny from the technique in the WSO, they just regurgitate or plagurise , an often, now defunct technique.

The WF is unfortunately full of newbies desperate to make money and swallow the BS hook line and sinker.

That anybody still believes somebody proclaiming to make $20k a month is really wasting their time selling a $20 WSO is a truly sad state of affairs.

Most of the so called marketers on this forum could barely afford to move out of moms..

    -- mini rant over.

Good post OP, by the way.

There are lots of people out there who completely misrepresent their offers
and promise the moon and stars. Most, are working full time jobs and don't do
    this for a living.

That's one side of the story.

Two sides of the coin usually exist.
(At least it is my personal philosophy)

And for the dark side, there is also another side too.
There is actually LEGIT people out there with LEGIT
    opportunities that actually work.

With that being said, not every opportunity is a good fit for
the people being pitched. As everyone has a different skill set,
and everyone has a certain work ethic.

But, if you can find something that you feel good about,
STICK WITH IT and GO HARD, there should be no reason why
    you too, can't be successful.

I think you are only limited by your own mind.
Anything is possible. I just think most people settle
with living a life of mediocrity.
