Is an adult blog allowed in India?

I am an erotic content writer and I am now planning to start a blog on which I will write erotic stories of mine.

The blog will also contain nude pictures of men and women - as is related to the story being told.

Also, I am located in India, so will this be an issue for me? As in will there be any legal issues to have such a blog?

Awaiting your responses and help.

Regards
Ayesha

I think it is illegal though I am not from India. I did a quick google and found this....

If you are asking us to reassure you of the laws that your own country may or may not have with regard to running a site with adult content, I think you would be better off asking someone in law enforcement in your own locale.

No, I am not asking for reassurance, just getting some good solid advice.
      Thanks for your help.

If you are going to base your decision on one liners in a IM forum you could be in for a rude awakening.

Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.

          Ayesha,

There does seem to be quite a bit of censorship in India when it comes to the internet. However, this resource from Wikipedea seems to offer you some hope -
Internet censorship in India - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The last paragraph (39 websites blocked) appears to be relevant to you, and suggests that what you want to do is probably OK. However, as already suggested, it would be a good idea to get confirmation from the department responsible for enforcing regulations concerning websites. It looks like in India this may be the Department of Telecom.

If your host is outside India and your domain is a .com (not .in) registered outside India would you still be subject to Indian content laws?

Or do those laws apply to you as an Indian citizen running an adult business no matter where the servers and content are based?

Don't even think about it. It is illegal to do what you are thinking of doing.

There are many legit ways to earn online that doesn't involve going to jail.

Its not Illegal officially but by seeing the number of adult commercial sites being taken down due to no user authentication, I wouldn't recommend you to go that way.

It would be wise to partner up with an already established good standing site and ask them to provide you a sub domain for your blog.

    Good luck though :-)

The best place to start is to sit down with a legal advisor or lawyer. Their advice would be invaluable.
