Hey Guys, quick question...

If you had to build a highly targeted... super profitable... email list in the Internet Marketing space, how would you do it?

Thanks :-)

  • Your problem is believing the traffic has anything to do with creating successful email marketing campaigns. Sure, the quality of traffic is important, but what you do with the traffic is even more so.

      Declan nailed it!

The traffic source is only slightly important. The most important thing is what you do with the folks once they are on your list.

In order to build a "reponsive" and "profitable" list you need to concentrate on providing them value and on standing out from all the other "me too marketers" flooding their inbox.

In reality - developing a relationship with a list isn't nearly as complicated as folks like to make it out to be...

The trick is to simply put yourself in the shoes of your subscribers. If you like getting emails with tips, videos, bonuses, etc to help you... Then this is probably the same type of stuff your subscribers would want to see.

Really all you have to do is keep in mind that there are REAL people on the other side of that email and treat them accordingly.

      Good luck.

      Cheers,
      Coby

I would Create a wso offering a highly sought after, top notch quality, free or inexpensive product or service.

The key to this will be highly sought after and top notch quality. One will not work without the other. If you leave out the highly sought after part, you won't get the number of signups that you seek. If you leave out the top notch quality part, your subscribers won't be responsive because you gave them a crap product and now can't be taken seriously.

        I wish you much success

Solo ads? PPC? PPV? Banner buys? Forum traffic? Article marketing?

    What networks would you use?

    Thanks :-)
It all depends on the target audience. I won't tell you A works or use C. Why? I am not here to give you the answer, but I am here to guide you so you can find the answer on your own.

Here is some logic to think on.

Will you advertise car insurance on a Disney princess game? No, why? Because the people in that channel are not interested. So if you want to build a quality list, you need to define what target audience you consider will buy your product. Then advertise on those channels.

Let me explain... You create something that people want and then you offer it in exchange for their email.

      Where do you place that?

Well, as I said... right under your nose.
I agree. Forums are a great place to start. Thank you for contributing :-)

  • To build a highly profitable blog will consist of having a blog or money site as your main portal for your mediums like youtube, facebook, twitter etc.

Youtube would be my next choice since creating epic content there(with proper seo) gets your ranked instantly first page.

You should have a sales funnel set as well to monetize your blog.

While you wait for your contents to rank, you can invest on solo ads to get you instant subscribers you can email market with by building value relationships with them.

No spams please, it turns people off

A few weeks you should get traffic from serps and when you get leads to convert invest it back to your business to get more solo ads.

This is the best and fastest way to scale your businessz

Awesome. Thank you. And where would you go to buy solo ads for your list building efforts?

Well right here on warrior forum of course

There are plenty of them here, just use search function up top and look for the
Ones with great testimonials and in the same niche of course.

Create a unique squeeze page leading for your audience to optin and down the funnel they go

I have a list of 300 people in the IM space doing nothing but posting right here on this forum.

I old nick was to sign up to my email list and that's how I did it. If I were serious about building a huge list then I would do the same thing at "other" forums in the space as well (not saying which ones as I don't know if that's cool or not).

Honestly I'm not here to be some uber-guru so I'm not working my usual model in this space.

That's awesome. How long did it take you to build this list? Have you pitched any products? Is it profitable?

I hope my questions are not too personal. I'm just curios :-)

It seems anytime someone tries to build a list or dive into internet marketing in general they tend to ask questions like this and they are not wrong in doing so but...they tend to look to others for answers only they have. If I had to build a "highly profitable" email list I would probably do it differently than you would. I am not talking about the sales funnel or the structure (warrior forum is full of great blueprints and advice) but rather the proverbial meat and potatoes. What I am trying to say is that we all have strengths that make us very marketable. What are yours? One of the first lists I built revolved around my knowledge of restaurants and social media. I knew everything about the restaurant business and was very well versed in social media marketing so I created a few reports on selling SMM services to restaurants. I also took those same reports, rewrote them and targeted restaurant owners with DIY reports. I created two really great lists that I could market completely different products and services to and never looked back. I believe the key to my success was staying with the familiar (when first starting out).

So, my advice would first be to figure what what you are good at, what you enjoy doing/talking/writing about and then form your list building campaign around those ideas. The structure really is the easy part but the "meat and potatoes" is what can make you a really "highly profitable" list.

As a newbie I do it the old fashion way.... Set everything up and buy solo add traffic. Do blog commenting, forum marketing and maybe a free WSO

As I advanced I allowed my products to generate most of my leads. These leads are better, more likely to buy and much more loyal.

    Good luck

I'd build a blog full of great content, send my traffic to that so they get tons of value upfrpont and see I know what I'm talking about then funnel that traffic into a list and further develop the relationship and deliver more value and the odd promo list.

It's what I'm doing. Works great.

I could write a book on it.

      Oh, wait, I did...

Kidding aside, there is no such thing as a "profitable list", in IM or any other market. The profit comes from the value exchange with the human beings on that list.

What you want to do is create an experience for people that they really want to continue. That could be through a blog, the message in your solo ad, a video, or something else. You want to create the feeling that you may have the answers they've been seeking, and the opportunity to explore that possibility (aka, joining your list). Once on your list, you want to extend that experience and nurture that feeling that you have the answers they need. Not all of those answers need to be free.

I also wouldn't fixate on having "a" list. You can have many lists that accomplish different things, from warming people up for an offer to reminding them to place an order or renew a subscription to group coaching. Use your imagination...
