Is it better to advertise to Affiliates OR Consumers?

Okay, so I'm not sure what to spend my advertising budget on. I just launched a new self help product on clickbank, this is my very first digital product I'v ever launched.

I tried advertising MindCastr Master Your Mind With Subliminal Messages on facebook, gaining around 180 visits and still not converting any of them into sales. So, a couple days ago I bought a text ad on clickbank in the self help category to get more affiliates on board and thus far I haven't gotten much traffic from this.

I want to be smart with where my advertising budget should be spent on, I want an expert opinion on what I should do based on the product illustrated in this message, what is the best way to advertise it and who should I target and how?

I would target both affiliates and consumers. Try to make few sales and let affiliates know about your program to maximize your efforts. Once you have a few really good affiliates you might be able to cut back on advertising directly to consumers but I would do both at all times.

Thanks for your response, I have a strict advertising budget, wouldn't it be best to spend 90% of my budget on getting in touch with quality affiliates rather than spending it on consumers. Because it's going to take a lot of experimentation before I find my target demographic.

With all due respect, this is why these types of questions are best answered by testing. If your new to the industry, it's going to be equally as hard to get quality affiliates as it will be to make sales. In fact it might even be a little easier to make a few sales.

I understand your funding issue but you need to test this on your own if you want to be completely sure about what works best. I or anyone else here can give you advise all day but until you see the results for yourself, you will have doubt.

        I wish you much success

I'd focus on getting customers. If you can't sell your product to customers.. Why would affiliates waste their time? Prove you can convert traffic to sales and affiliates will come.

Yes, go for consumers for now... if you've got a nice budget, then you can allocate a small daily budget for affiliates.. but personally, I'd put 100% into advertising to get buyers.

If this is your first CB product, i recommend you buy your own product by making it $3 and making the purchase through any affiliate link. only then it will show up in the Cb marketplace where other affiliates can see your product.
