This is interesting! GetResponse found out that the best day for open rates and click through rates is THURSDAY!

What is your experience?

How was this data collected? Was this just for one market or was this data compiled by all their customers accounts and averaged?

Track and test, track and test. What works for the 300000 plus getresponse users as an 'average' doesn't necessarily hold with you and your list.

  If I'm reading it right in terms of CTR the difference between the worst day Sunday at 1.85% and the best - Thursday at 2.19%, is 0.34%. So on a list of 10,000 subscribers the difference between the best and worst day is 34 subscribers!
  
  Looking at the original article Optimizing Your Campaigns: Best Days to Send Emails - GetResponse Blog - Email Marketing Tips but looking at Open Rates, now, the difference between the worst day, Saturday, and the best day Thursday is about 2.7%, around 270 subscribers on an email list of 10,000.
  
  I'd suggest that you can't make any conclusions based on this information, especially as Get Response may be using data that includes corporate clients who don't work on weekends.

  Yes, I agree that one should do his one testing to know what day is the best. For me, Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday are the best.
  
  But interesting enough that almost all email marketers mention thursday as one of the best days to send emails (in various niches), so GetResponse is not that far...

Maybe people are in a better mood on this day cause they know the weekend is upon them.

I agree with Grey, this information might true base of Getresponse data analysis, but you have to test your list and know your number for your list and compare with the above to see how it relate to you.

  I'm not going to base my own list activities on what a third party company tells me. Who knows how many hundreds of factors went into this average. Will I test out on Thursday to measure the response to see if it's better? Who wouldn't! But, to blindly accept any information that I haven't tested out on my own list or mail out on a day that best suits my subscribers needs would be foolish.

Seriously, if you are doing your job, and list building is essential to any business, people will crave for your stuff, and will be waiting with a beer ready for your email, or any message you bring to the masses.

Days and times do not matter too much. Although i have big lists, I noticed TUESDAY, THURSDAYS do well, and SUNDAYS too.

But again, its about your list and list quality that are FAR more important.

Monday to Friday deffo and probably around 3pm EST

I find more people will respond in the evening esp when considering if you have an offer, they are more likely to but in the evening

Interesting but fairly irrelevant if we ain't know what kind of people those emails target.

If you are in and emergency business, any day is valid.

If you sell Theater tickets, Thursday can be the best day.

If you sell pills against hangover sickness, guess it's Monday.

Depending on the niche that you're into, results may vary.

In my experience the best open rates are achieved around 6-9am every Mon through Thursday for everything except for dating and gaming.

I personally feel that every list is unique and you will only know the day you get the best response when you test it out. Having a good email subject headline will encourage better open rate too.
