Hey Guys, if you had to get 1,000,000+ hits to a YouTube video, how would you do it? What's the proven strategy?

The only sure way to reach that kind of number is by paid advertising.

Except it is a really nice/funny/interesting/weird video and it will go viral without having to pay for this!

What kind of video is it?

Well, I see this video has gotten over 2,000,000 views... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7-iNOFD27G4

I doubt this young lady is running paid traffic.

So I wonder, how does she do it? How is it done? :-)

It's hard to plan something of that magnitude without a big budget.

Usually videos that receive that many views have gone viral (by accident) or simply already have an audience waiting for new content (celebs, etc.) and so I would say just try pumping out different videos as often as you can and see if any gain any traction with an humour or entertainment value.

First of all, never doubt anything! Maybe she is running paid traffic.

I think that most of this video's traffic comes from her blog that is stated in the description box.Probably she got a lot organic traffic from her blog(which has been search engine optimized).

Dealing with panic attacks and anxiety is a huge niche and a lot of people are searching for a solution to their problem.

She also is a pretty lady so someone really enjoys watching her and giving a solution to their anxiety problem at the same time

She has 4+ million subscribers. She could get one million views on any video she puts up.

That's true. The problem is how she came to obtain more than 4 million subscribers?

The video BuenoBloggerBoy talks about is uploaded on Nov.2012.

I believe that great content & helping others by any means, can bring you millions in views

I would presume - like most famous youtubers, she received shout-outs to kick-start her career. I could be wrong, though.

Youtube is one of the biggest traffic sources for her blog. There are so many videos, collaboration vids and look at the subscriber count! She did spend some serious money/time creating that channel.

How does YouTube traffic perform for direct response offers? For clickbank offers, for example? Is it good traffic?

I understand the conversion rate of the offer is key, but as a traffic source in comparison to other sources... how does YouTube traffic compare?

You could buy views off fiverr or actually build a good YouTube channel and build up your subscribers and you'll get more views

It can be done in many different ways, the main way is through Paid Traffic which many people have mentioned, the other option is organic, you build your audience up with good content - it takes time but if done correctly can be very rewarding

As someone who has a video with over 725,000 views, I would be happy to explain how this happened.

FYI: I paid zero for views. The video has been up for almost 5 years and shows nothing but my hands and my stomach.

My video is content, YouTube viewers feel is valuable. Honestly I look at the stats and I am amazed myself. Valuable content is the key. My video breaks all the rules: it is over 7 minutes long. There are no hooks or surprises.

It is a simple "how to" video. If you want to get 1 million views on a YouTube video, you can throw mud at the wall and hope it sticks and goes viral.

Or.. you can offer valuable "how to" content. I think that is the absolute best method to get thousands of views.

You can certainly pay for fake views and try to game the system. You can also put ads up on other YouTube videos pointing back to your video. This may be a cost effective alternative to buying views.

And if you buy views you run the risk of getting your YouTube Channel banned and deleted...(You can read a number of real life examples of this happening...)

Creating valuable "how to" content is IMHO the best method...And "How to" actionable content is better still.
