New Around Here (From Malaysia)

Hi everyone, my name is Nigel Wong, I'm new around here although I have been lurking around here for some time. I'm learning internet marketing and what can I say? There is a lot of information to take in here!

At the moment I'm in employment in the scientific instrument service industry, and am learning IM at nights.

Feeling overwhelmed but I suppose its always like that for newbies. I look forward to learning from you guys here.

Nigel

Welcome to the forum, try to pick one thing (that you feel you might be interested in) and learn it. Then if it's working for you, replicate it.

      Hi.

You mean getting started in the Internet marketing niche itself?

Well I'm a newbie, I don't think that is a good idea, but I have been reading a lot of self improvement books.

wonder if that will help some how?

Yeah Im niche is a pretty daunting one to start out in.

Self improvement is a good niche. It is huge and very competitive but if you have talents in that area you can make some money over time.

    Hey Nigel,
Welcome to Warrior Forum. Yeah, just like anything new IM it can be pretty overwhelming. As time goes by though, you will see things start to sink in and click with you.

There is some good info. in here and sometimes not so good

After awhile you will be able to tell the difference.

In meantime, post any questions that you are having problems with and we will try to help you in any way we can.

There are sooo many business models to choose from to get started in IM. Take some time and decide which one suits your own style of personality.

Then go with it and stick with it until you have mastered it and made some money.

Just Do not make the mistake of going from one program to the other......... a.k.a shiny object syndrome

        Hi Nigel

About Business Models : you have some choices here as follows :
but first you need to decide in which market you want to work.
If we say that Self Development is yours.

        1.Affiliate Marketing.
the idea is simple : you build a community of people interested in your subject. Then you keep following up with them by sending them more valuable free information. After you build trust then you can recommend products to your community and add a bonus for people will buy from your affiliate link. ( this is the best way to get started).

2.Product Creator : Here you create your own product (But same you need to build the community FIRST or as known as : Build your List)

When it comes to product creation then the best way is : Membership Sites ( where you get paid monthly not only ONE time)

but keep in mind that it is more advanced way for a starter.

        Hope this helps

You know Nigel first few years I did a lot of blogging and made and still make a consistent income with that.

Now I am less about generating weekly content per say on a Website and concentrating on providing weekly content to my List . And building it without a Site.

I know this formula below has been regurgitated over and over again here at Warrior but there is a reason why it is constantly being repeated ; because IT WORKS !!!
        1. Drive traffic to your squeeze page
        2. Provide free valuable content
        3. Develop relationships with your subscribers
        4. Only promote what you truly believe in and make money with Conversions of these Products.

        Simple as that.

Get you Autoresponder Series constructed and tweaked to maximum effectiveness.
And then you can just 'Set and Forget' !!

Welcome! I visited KL last year and it was a great city.

My $5 Flippa artist is from Malaysia - if you have a skill then maybe Flippa is a good place to market it.

Self improvement is a great start, but don't spend too much time in learn mode.

Ideally, to make the most progress the fastest a mix of 20% learning to 80% doing is best.

I just finished a post about people who take all their life trying to learn. Learn one thing, for example a squeeze page.. then set up a squeeze page. There's no need to go further until you can do step one.... so on and so forth all the way through your career.

As far as traffic, pick one source to learn and master it. You can use paid traffic at first to help move you forward while you learn your main source or wait until you have the budget for it.

    Hope that helps

    Hi Nigel,

Start my IM career back in 2007 and I must say. It was tough back then. It is a learning process than never ends. Started with affiliate marketing then when on creating your own ebooks (better to have your own brand / product) and have other affiliates to sell for you.

But nowadays, to have a residual income on permanent basis membership site on the option. Do it correctly, and you are secured for life.

You do have to ensure though your contents are good and new contents are loaded monthly.
