How do I get sales for my eBook?

I put up an eBook on Fiverr about attracting women into your life. The problem is, I don't think I am going to get any sales, because how will people even find it?

I think its such great information within the book, and it's only $5. I would buy that information if I didn't know it already, which most people don't. But I can't buy something I don't know about.

Any tips?

A bar of iron cost $5. Made into horseshoes, it's worth $12. Made into needles, it's worth $3500. Made into balance springs for watches, it's worth $300,000. Your value is determined by what you are able to make of yourself

Fiverr might not be a good place to advertise that. Try putting ads in some dating sites or even try joining some facebook groups that might fit that niche. I've seen a few groups dedicated for singles who are looking for dates. That would be a great place to start.

It has already been said - Fiverr is really not the place to target your audience.

Forums and ads on dating sites would perhaps be your best bet.

  • Christianfrum,

Across online places and offline publications that are heavily trafficked by your target buyers -- Build your brand as a friendly expert resource of helpful content and products in your niche...

Advertise -- Distribute your softsell marketing content and hardsell advertising materials in online places like niche community sites and niche Facebook groups and niche authority sites among others, and in offline niche publications like niche magazines with large readership bases that are mostly comprised of your target buyers...

NOTE: Before you do the things above -- Get to know your target buyers better by browsing through the online places where they hang out, and by studying the related offline publication materials that they read -- This will allow you to do the following:

    *** Improve your product based on their exact needs, problems and wants that are related to your niche -- You can do this by incorporating a set of benefits into your product that can't be found elsewhere, and by offering your product at a mutually beneficial price that's reasonable in the eyes of your target buyers for the value that they think and feel they'd be getting from your product;

    *** Integrate epic content materials into your point of sale establishments (your website, for example -- These should make your target buyers think and feel that you are actually a friendly expert resource of helpful content and products that can guarantee a set of benefits for them, which can't be found elsewhere;

    *** Implement quick, convenient, safe and secure options into your point of sale establishments -- This should allow your target buyers to quickly, conveniently, safely and securely access your content, download your materials, sign up to your mailing list, purchase your products and contact your before and after sales support teams;

*** Create effective softsell marketing content and hardsell advertising materials -- These should instantly communicate to your target readers the set of benefits that they can get from your product and your point of sale establishments, how your content and product can guarantee these set of benefits and why these benefits can't be found elsewhere; and

*** Distribute your softsell marketing materials and hardsell advertising content across the online places and offline publications that are heavily trafficked by your target buyers...

    TWITTER
Go on twitter, start tweeting about dating, with a link to your book. Use hashtags: #dating #attraction even...#love <--- nah, never mind that one, you're trying to reach guys...

Tweet during big sporting events #superbowl #marchmadness, so your tweets could be seen by the gazillions of people tweeting - and reading tweets - about the event. Find a twitter "chat" to take part in, one that should be full of a large majority of dudes - chats about cars, boxing, etc... Start your own twitter chat about dating.

    FACEBOOK
Join Facebook GROUPS that are full of guys. Start with single guy's groups - I'm sure there are some. Then add macho Groups - nascar, wrestling, MMF or whatever it's called... Participate in those groups and keep your link to your fiverr sale ready to toss in the ring.

    OFFER AN INCENTIVE
Tell anyone in Twitter and Facebook who buys your book that you'll give them a free 1/2-hour consulation on how they could attract more women into their life.

Cost? Nothing. And you can tweet and post from anywhere, like at the coffee shop while you're watching the women pass by. : )

      Love all these suggestions.

I have 6 books so far on Amazon Kindle with 4 of them also on CreateSpace (Print on Demand side of Amazon). None of them have amazing sales but then none of them have any outside push either.

What I've seen so far could put a total change on that.

Many thanks to all of you kind ladies and gentlemen, so free with your advice.

      Regards,

Like people already mentioned, you need to hit the places where your niche is. Go find forums and blogs and leave valuable comments there and a link to your page where they can buy your eBook - make sure you are not spammy though

You can also create videos around your niche and have a link right under the video in the description which directs viewers to click on your link and hopefully get them to buy your product.

    Do more than just Fiverr.

    1) Promote on ebay
    2) Amazon
    3) Kindle
    4) Smashwords
    5) Your own site
    6) Get traffic using popular methods
    7) Make a WSO for it promoting resell rights (or even PLR)
    8) Dating forums

Here is a non internet suggestion. Find a way to be interviewed in the mass media to talk about a subject related to dating(they can't get enough of that topic) and build a plug to your site into the interview. It costs you nothing to pitch the mass media via targeted focused emails and one hit can bring thousands of people to your site. OK, good luck, Edward Smith.

Here are some suggestions based on my experience selling eBooks:

1.) Create a sample of your eBook by giving readers a condensed version; for instance, if your eBook has Chapters 1-10, remove Chapters 3-10. Immediately at the end of the sample, put a link to where they can buy the full eBook to continue reading. I'd say remove it from Fiverr and go with Kindle, Smashwords, etc.

Upload that sample to various free eBook websites, if they have no qualms with samples
(as opposed to "full" versions). Post the link to your book on the freebie site(s) on as many channels as possible (Facebook, Youtube, Twitter, etc) to gain readership. It WILL take time.

Free-ebooks.net is a great source for having access to a large number of readers, many of whom will leave reviews of your book and possibly entice even more downloads and publicity for you.

2.) Use Fiverr to your advantage by looking for reviews; look for people who will review your eBook for $5 and post your review to either their own websites, to Kindle, or other third-party sites. The more reviews you can get, the better.

3.) As recommended by others here, visit forums related to dating. Choose forums that are very active, with a large amount of visitors being logged on at any given time. Then, give helpful advice that people can find in your book. If the forums allow signatures, create a signature that leads people to your eBook. Of course this will be after you've been active for a little while and developed a reputation for helping others.

Also, once you've started dialogue with various people on the site, offer them a "review" copy of your eBook, in exchange for a review that you'll later use as a testimonial. Then you'll get a "real world" feel of what your readers think about your book.

4.) Use "Pay with a tweet." If you want your eBook to have a chance of going "viral," and if you have an account on Twitter, you can use the Pay with a tweet service. Of course, you'll need a web property to place the button, but people interested in downloading the eBook can get a "free" copy by sending a Tweet to their followers about your eBook.

Of course, that doesn't deal with the aspect of collecting email addresses for future marketing efforts, but it does give you the potential for your "fan base" to grow exponentially, if done correctly.

    Hope that helps!

I think most people looking for pickup info will pass right on by a $5 ebook on the topic as most guides in this market sell for far more. The sooner you lose the bargain basement mentality the better off you'll be. Good luck.

You might want to try Amazon Kindle. Sign up is free and it's easy to up load your ebook and cover. Then sign up for Kindle KDP and try a free promotion to see if there is interest in your book. Be sure to research your title and keywords

Amazon's Kindle offers an awesome opportunity to sell your eBook. I have multiple books there and several have been best sellers in their category with no paid promotion.

      For new authors:
Make the book exclusive to Amazon thru their KDP Select program
Use Amazon's promotion opportunities i.e. free days, countdown days to get the book out there
Advertise the promo on free sites that allow it.

BEST TIP: have more than one book (and link these in each book) so if readers like your book they may buy another.

Once you gain your audience expand to other eBook Publishing platforms i.e. Smashwords, etc.

Sell the book in more marketplaces. You're currently selling it in one marketplace which has probably has 0.01% interest in that niche...

The primary marketplace should be your own website (or salespage)...

Drive targeted traffic to that sales page using social media, video, articles, blogging and just about every other free traffic method...

Put some money aside to trial a few different paid methods to drive targeted traffic to the website.

I think you can put the link of your ad about your book at related forums and also at social media. It is the good way to increase the sale of your book.

That's a popular niche. You need to create the required hype. Did you try press releases? Not the free ones, the paid ones? You could also try forums in the same niche.

You know one of the big success stories of classified marketing from the 70's was how to pick up girls, or something like that, they made a movie on it.

The last 5 years I dated about 800 chicks all 18 to 22, and I'm in my 50's

    7 were teen porn stars.

I was gonna write a book on it, but the whole book was one word over and over

    MONEY
    MONEY
    MONEY
    MONEY

As long as you got dough the chicks flow

Not all of them, but a lot of them

    LOL

All kidding aside (I really did date a bunch of teen pornstars lately) these are places to promote ebooks

Amazon - negative you lose 65% over 9.99
BN and Apple - negative see Amazon

Bookbub does a nice promo for free ebooks, it costs 125 or so bucks, but some geeks are saying it's all bots to drive books onto the amazon top 10 lists that day

Askdavid has an inexpensive promo push, nice guy too, but jury is out as to if he sells much for anyone

I'd list my own site, but it's not in full swing, in the 1990's we were the top spot for free ebooks period, gave away millions of them in the 1990's

Long story short, the domain got lost in the reg fly fiasco we recently reacquired it so now it's a work in progress

In a couple of weeks we went from no alexa to 85K or so alexa in USA

And it's not fake, real traffic from old lists

Plus a huge network pumping it

So in another month or two, we'll be the top spot outside the big 3 distribution channels for ebooks

But we sell nothing on site, we just lead our users to off site sales and there's no cap for expensive books like biz info

So a 99 buck biz book on the big 3 nets only 35 bucks to the author/pub

On our site you can list it for 300 or whatever, you sell from your own site and keep the dough

So for MLM and Biz info it's gonna be a great vehicle soon

But for mass appeal, the big 3 may be ok, lots of potential buyers at 9.99 or less for that type of info

Then you use promos like bookbub and maybe askdavid or other we send to our email list sites and see what they do for you

If the USA alexa is not under 100K, they have minor traffic if they claim to promote ebooks

So Big 3 for under 9.99 ebooks

Over 9.99 ebooks your own sites and lots of work

Start building a list in that niche and sell the ebook to your subscribers. You won't make much money selling a $5 ebook alone, so you might want to consider creating an upsell (or a higher priced product to sell after your subscribers purchase your $5 ebook) or you can add more value to your ebook and increase the price.
