Seeking Assistance with Internet Marketing.

So, after years of contemplating getting involved with Internet Marketing, I have decided to give it a go. I have done some research in various different places and feel as if I have a general feel for the business, but thought I would post a thread on this forums and maybe try to get a few pointers and or advice if anyone is willing to do so.

So from what I have gathered internet marketing consists of many different things, but what I am most interested in is multiple blogs on various different topics that I found interesting, I would think that these topics would have to be some what popular to the internet community in order for me to gain traffic to my website. With that being said, how do I make sure I am blogging about something that others are searching for aswell? Is there a way to see how often something is searched in google?

Also, I assume that targeting a topic that has a lot of competition on the web is not the brightest thing to do as I would assume it would be much harder to get your site ranked within the first few pages of google. So how do I figure out what would be a good topic to blog on and make money through google adsense and what wouldn't?

Also, as having traffic to your site is obviously a key component to generating any type of revenue from your website, what is the best way to go about gaining traffic? I understand link exchanges could benefit but is there a better way to go about this? What are some good link exchange sites? Any advice in this topic would be greatly appreciated.

I am assuming consistently adding new content to your blog is important a swell, how often should I add new content?

Also, assuming I do everything correct what is a good expected time to see any type of revenue coming through my blogs?

Also, my biggest question is what is the best way to monetize my blog to make the most money? Should I add a click bank product that is relevant to the blogs content and put it on there? Should I put google adsense on there aswell? Is there other ways and sources I could use to gain profit? What has been your experience?

I am really just looking for a few pointers and gather some information on exactly how to do things. Anything and everything helps! Just new to all of this and trying to get started!
