What if I need to make a living in 4 months time?

I'm very serious here. I need to make $1800 a month in 4 months time.
I can't explain my situation exactly, but this is what I need to do.
Currently I am earning nothing, so I'll have to start from scratch.

What I do have is some decent knowledge about many forms of IM, but never implemented one. I also have $3.5k in my bankaccount (which is not a lot), of which I'm willing to spend a good part of to reach my goal.

What would be the absolute best thing to do you would advise me?
I WILL go for it 100% once I know what would be the absolute best thing to do from here on.

Looking forward to your responses. I'm sure you guys will have some good input!

It's tricky if you've no real experience in IM. Knowledge is one thing but the actual testing and experience counts for so much.

Pick a topic you are passionate about and will enjoy working on.

Make sure that topic is profitable, i.e. a lot of people searching on Google, lots of popular blogs, busy forums and big social media groups, lots of products on sale, easy to reach your target audience online.

Pick a proven business model, for example...

Blogging with an email list + promoting affiliate products.

Creating your own products TO SELL - don't go the giving away for free to get an email address method it's not that effective.

Selling a service based on your skills.

Then follow a proven path to success. Look at what those who have already achieved success have done and emulate them - it's all been written about online.

You might consider list building and blogging.

Of all the methods, these are by far the fastest and easiest ways to make $ online.

Although there are other factors like the niche you picked, how well do you know about that niche and target market.

Here is what I will do if I am you:

    1. Invest in Mark Ling's AffiloBlueprint. Of all the internet marketing courses I invested so, I will say from hand to heart this is by far the best.

For they not only provide full training but also free hosting, theme and forum for like-minded individuals like yourself to connect and help one another.

    2. Buy a domain name from Namecheap though AffiloBlueprint got their own domain registration services as well.

    3. Get Aweber autoresponder for $1 first month trial followed by $19 monthly.

This is all you need to do.

By itself, this this HORRIBLE advice. AWFUL.

I know that sounds harsh, but there it is. I'm not just picking on Amuro. Too many Warriors think like this.

Amuro's response demonstrates a common confusion here -- and a lack of understanding of marketing fundamentals: Listbuilding is NOT a business! Listbuilding is an essential marketing ACTIVITY.

Same goes for blogging. Blogging is NOT a business! Blogging is a marketing ACTIVITY.

In other words, in ANY business, you need to be building a list of interested prospects that you can market to over and over again.

The Direct Marketing Association did a survey some time back and found that people buy AFTER hearing about a product or service 7-9 times! So if you just hit them once, you're losing the majority of your prospects -- and a HUGE amount of money on the table.

This applies no matter what industry you're in, whether you're selling a product or service. We buy from people or companies we know, like and trust. And that takes hearing from them more than once.

It drives me CRAZY when people say "I tried listbuilding." as if it were a biz opp in and of itself.

      Arrhggh!

You can only make money in one of two ways:

      1. Sell a product.
      2. Sell a service.

That's it! Listbuilding is nothing more than a MARKETING ACTIVITY to sell that product or service.

Even if you don't have your own product or service and choose article marketing to monetize CPA offers, you're essentially providing a service: you're driving qualified traffic to advertising offers. Article marketing is the method, NOT the business.

And the leads need to go to a freebie offer to build the list first. Then you do e-mail marketing to that list to get them to buy.

      Online, the basic process is:

Traffic > Opt-in page (to build the list) > Autoresponder series (or e-zine) (to market to the list) > Sales page

I hope that brings some clarity.

You're going to get endless posts simply saying 'list building' and whilst it's true that you DEFINITELY 100% NEED to build a list that's too simplistic and implies that if you just buy an Autoresponder account and throw together some emails you'll make money.

    You won't.

A list has to be built around something - a blog full of great content, a paid product, a service, a website etc.

People have to opt into the list because they loved something you do and want to hear more of you.

The often touted traffic to squeeze page where you bribe with a free guide to get their email method builds lists of unresponsive subscribers who simply wanted the freebie and not any follow up emails.

It's such an ineffective method and you'll struggle to make money.

I like the blogging method most. Great content, promote that content heavily and network with others in your niche, provide tons of value and get people onto your list where you provide more value and recommend products too.

However it's not usually a fast cash method. It takes time to build your audience.

The quickest way to make money tends to be offering a service. You can have your service listed instantly here in the WSO / services section, on Fiverr, Edesk, Olance, the various other IM forums etc etc.

Someone can be ordering from you as soon as tomorrow if you put up a thread tonight.

It's hard to do but possible. The best way I would see is to offer a service for example here on the WF. I don't know if you have any skills already but have a look at the Warrior for Hire section and see what people offer there and what they charge for their service. Decide if you can offer any service like that and work your ass off in the beginning to build a customer base up!

As of right now you are just some guy that wants to make money online. You need to narrow that down on your own before you start asking for help on the income generation end.

Can you think of any website or digital product or service that you wish was your own? There has to be something you are fascinated with. That's a good place to start sniffing around.

If you already have some knowledge about IM, what's the holdup? Why haven't you been trying and testing? Why wait for us to tell you what to do.

If all else fails, sell services on Warriors for Hire. You do need to have marketable skills to do that, but it's often the quickest way to earn money.

Well, I haven't started yet because I want to do it 100% right the first time I start with it. Since I only have 4 months, I think some good thinking is needed.

I was thinking of starting a quality blog in a certain niche and list an affiliate offer every so many posts. And add a subscriber form to the blog to build a list and send them my offers through mail too. But I don't think it'll blow up in just 4 months time. I hate it, but time is an issue for me now.

You're not going to do it 100% right at any time and the likelihood of you getting a profitable blueprint to use from this thread are low. People learn by doing. There are so many ways to earn money online, so people are just going to throw out a bunch of advice of all kinds of methods. Some may work. Some may not. You need to choose yourself what you'd like to do and start doing it.

Chances are good that you won't make your 4 month goal. Many people fail in this business and for some, they don't "make it" for years.

If you have learned any bit online and as you are aware that you don't have enough of time with yourself.
I will suggest you to do both.
Short Term but fast way: Sell Services
Long Term But Slow Way: Build a Blog, Get Subscribers and sell affiliate products.

I am at your stage 6 months ago. Most of the answers i got are "offer services" which is 100% risk free. I am not an native English speaker, but yet i prepared to write articles for people in WF, BHW and fiverr.

I offered writing squidoo lens as an express gig in fiverr. I used to get around 2-4 orders a day. But the job is pain in my ass, really because one day i got an order for 15 articles on Greek Mythology. Writing those articles was really time taking.

That day i realised, that you need to work hard in order to earn.

But later, i moved on to paid advertising and everything is fine now.

If you are looking for 100% risk free, try offering your skills as a service in WF, BHW, Freelancer and Fiverr. It will not bring huge orders, but you will earn some, and eventually it will be good.

If you want to enter into affiliate marketing, i suggest, Risk it. Loose money, eventually you will know how to play.

    Good luck

"Well, I haven't started yet because I want to do it 100% right the first time I start with it. Since I only have 4 months, I think some good thinking is needed."

If you can figure out a way to do it 100% right the first time you will have accomplished something I wager no successful person on this forum has done.

How you can succeed depends on you and your skills so the answers you will get will be very general and may not apply to you.

Instead of telling you HOW to make money I will say this.
Focus on WHEN. Never mind trying to make $1800 a month in 4 months.
Figure out how to make $250 this week by Friday no matter what you have to do to get it done. It could be teaching someone how to use their computer, building a site etc..
Then find out what you hate, what you like, what could of been done better, what could be scaled, did the entire thing suck and you must move on to other idea etc..

I have learned from great experience that 90% of making money simply requires confidence and in yourself and starting right now! so the absolute best thing you can do is make ANY money in ANY way that applies to your skills and then it will be like a snow ball.

    Good luck,

You can absolutely do it, but it's going to take some real focus.

I created $3K per month within my first 6 months, but it wasn't all about business for me. I had to totally re-program... ME. I wasn't raised with a wealthy mindset. I had to create it for myself and that took a lot of working on ME, while trying to build an internet business at the same time.

Took a lot of persistence and focus but anyone can do it.

With that said, I can only say what I did. Others created incomes online very quickly writing articles, selling physical products, dropshipping, offline consulting, etc.

What I did, and still do, is focused on:

    - Driving traffic (both free & paid)
    - Building my list
    - Email marketing

Then, getting good at optimizing my websites/pages, and testing.

Those things I believe if focused on, can create a consistent income.

That's just the path I took.

A better answer, but what does 'driving traffic' mean? If the OP has no idea how to drive traffic, don't tell him 'drive traffic' to your site.

I love WarriorForum, the help the OP received is next to nothing. Far out.

@ongur - I would like to help. Visit this link: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...-2-months.html

It is about someone else (not me) who went from 0 to $200 per day in under 2 months, using a simple and proven way. You have potentially $3,500 to invest (while the other person had about $1,500, so you have an advantage), so use that while following the steps. Follow the guide in the link, and you will be well on your way.

Waiting around until the 'perfect time' when you have all the knowledge you think you need isn't a wise move.

There's no perfect time and you'll never know everything you need to know.

Plus that knowledge is just theory until you put it into action and test things for yourself.

Don't hesitate and get working NOW.

    Start right NOW.

You need skills not theory and you only develop skills by doing.

If you can't make a decision on what to do online, you need to spend some of that money on a decison making course or cheaper still, flip a coin and decide that way.

If you can't make a simple business decision, you will never make it in business. It does not matter if the decision is wrong. You will accomplish more with any decision than you will by not making one.

I think you are right. I've taken a lot of the answers in this thread into account and I guess I just have to start and see how it goes.

I think I'll do it this way:

      1. Start a blog
      2. Provide quality content
      3. Drive traffic to the blog
      4. Build a list using the blog
      5. Send e-mails with affiliate offers to the list

I'll get a part-time job while doing this, so I can focus on building my list but still earn some income meanwhile.
I might not get to my $1800 in 4 months goal, but atleast I'll get to see how close I can get. I can make it a long term goal of earning $2K per month by the end of this year, which is a more realistic goal I guess.

Your goal is extremely hard to achieve.

    Here's a plan:
    1) Try to find a job first (4 or 6 hours per day, so you have time for your online business)
    2) In the meantime, you have to choose one method (and ONE method only):
    a) List building and selling solos: I can recommend you Robert Mangan's great membership site. Lifetime access is only $27, and you'll find there all the information and resources you need. You can buy cheap but effective solo ads, and you'll find excellent click banking partners easily. Fortunately, you have enough money to start this business.
    b) Sell services on Fiverr (writing, lens building, creating basic Wordpress pages, voice acting, sending postcards, translating, ebook cover creation, etc. - anything you're an expert of). If you want to earn $1800/month, you need to sell 450 Gigs. It means 15 Gigs per day. It may sound much, but you can provide a service that requires buying more than one Gig.
    c) Find awesome writers here on the forum. Test them or believe the testimonials. You need writers who charge at least $0.02 per word. You need to find the best ones! Then you can start sending emails to small businesses, offering the following services:
    - Writing a PR article (you can add to an article directory)
    - Writing and publishing a press release
    - Writing premium website/blog content
The key to success is to make them believe you're offering a truly premium service. And of course you must provide a premium service to your clients
    3) Focus on the method you chose, focus on it, and stick to it whatever happens.

There are a ton of different ways to get you making money online.

    - Post a Service on Fiverr and Gather Clients Outside of Fiverr to Build a Reputation and Popularity of Fiverr and Do More Upselling.
    - Sell Amazon Products as an Affiliate and Sell Products to a Large Targeted Audience.
    - Write Your Own Ebook and Sell it for 100% Commissions on Clickbank, Craigslist, eBay and other sites.
    - Sell CPA offer that can get you high commissions.
There are endless possibilities but here were a few suggestions.

Email marketing..."and the crowd goes wild!"

Yes you can build a list of unresponsive freebie seekers, but if done right you can start making some decent commissions quite quickly. The key is to have a freebie that draws people to the sales page like a magnet, and pre-sells them.

For the last few months I've been testing a DFY affiliate sales funnel promoting a big name coach. It took me about two hours to set up and is complete with freebie, thank and download pages, and Aweber followup of a high quality newsletter series. All include your affiliate link. It's a WP plugin.

Like anything else it takes testing but it is already wildly profitable. The key is knowing how to drive targeted traffic, the funnel does the rest, quite well.

As for providing a service: It's tough and messy and frustrating as hell. If you want to go that route, I suggest promoting someone else's service. Things that every marketer needs, like hosting, an autoresponder, etc.

Opinions will vary, and this is mine.

IF it's as serious as you make it sound that you need to make $1,800 per month in 4 months time then I'd consider looking for a job offline, 9-to-5, so you can be sure you have that $1,800 a month coming in.

With IM, there are no certainties. You could do 2 figures today, 3 tomorrow, 4 on wednesday and then nothing on thursday.

Until you can consistently hit $1,800+ every month then you're better off getting a job where you KNOW you will hit that goal.

Hitting $1,800 a month, every month is no easy task when it comes to IM.

I wish you all the luck, but it's not something you can really afford to put a time constraint on.

Is there something your or someone around you (Family) is really good at? Can be really anything, from cooking something (Special cake receipt etc...) to building something (bird houses etc...) or how to use something (Minecraft, other games etc...).

If so, shoot a video course about it and sell it online, embedding that into your strategy to run a blog, publishing good content etc...

You make so much more with your own products and your investment in time and money pays back better as it's an investment in your own business. And you always add affiliate offers into your mix to make more sales.

  • Hi Ongur,

Seriously, if there was a genuine way to learn fast enough to earn $1800 a month online then you wouldn't have got some stupid answers as well as a few good one's here.

Your first steps as said here are to get some part time or full time job that pays very well, (difficult unless you have a skill much in demand that pays that well) and join an online training course such as Niche Profit Classroom with Adam Short starting at $1 for 14 days then $67 a month? Some people say they were able to start making money within the first 30 days with this but I always take such comments with a lot of skepticism as you also should? They are usually added to sell the product?

It takes the average hard working person who devotes all or most of their spare time learning this new to them business at least 5 to 6 months to make up to or more than $1800 a month while the majority take years assuming they refuse to quit. Wish I could soft soap this but you need to know the brutal truth.

Finally, never, never, never buy any get rich quick product or from a link from anyone who lazily puts their affiliate link here as your solution because that will only make them a few extra dollars and you none.

    Regards.

    Stephen & Jennifer.

      Hard truth time...

The people who make a success online tend to be natural entrepreneurs.

Natural entrepreneurs tend not to ask other people how to do things - we just get on and do it.

Also, natural entrepreneurs tend not to worry too much about 100% success guarantees because we know that there is no such thing. All there is is an opportunity to be grabbed. Sometimes it works out and sometimes it doesn't. The only way to sway those odds in your favour is by experience - and that is something you gain by getting on and doing it. And being prepared to fail.

Will you make $1800 a month within 4 months? It isn't a particularly hard target IF you are a natural entrepreneur. If you are not - and the fact that you are asking the question in the first place suggests you might be a person who prefers to play things safe - then the chances are slim.

I'm not a natural entrepreneur because I'm asking advice to people that actually have had success before? If it gets me to where I want to be faster than by not asking a thing, then that's great for me.

I appreciate you commenting, but I have a short time-frame and your post only talks about being a natural entrepreneur or not.
You say "It isn't a particularly hard target IF you are a natural entrepreneur".
So what if I actually AM a natural entrepreneur, then you can give me some guidelines right?

So what if I actually AM a natural entrepreneur, then you can give me some guidelines right?
          You missed my point.

If you are a natural entrepreneur you wouldn't have wasted your time asking an unanswerable question especially when there are a thousand threads on this forum that could already provide you with any number of answers. Instead you would be using your time coming up with ideas of your own.

Asking questions isn't wrong, but asking broad questions that can't possibly be answered by anyone who doesn't know you - and probably not even then - is not going to help you reach your goal. In fact it will almost certainly just confuse you and set you back.

Here is what you originally asked:

What I do have is some decent knowledge about many forms of IM, but never implemented one. I also have $3.5k in my bankaccount (which is not a lot), of which I'm willing to spend a good part of to reach my goal.

What would be the absolute best thing to do you would advise me?
I WILL go for it 100% once I know what would be the absolute best thing to do from here on.
How can you expect anyone to have sensible answers when you are not asking a sensible question?

You have a decent knowledge about many forms of IM but have never implemented one? How do you know you have a decent knowledge then? Have you just read a few ebooks and assumed you are now in possession of the facts? Have you been reading threads on the forum (You do know that a lot of the more knowledgeable-sounding replies are from people spouting stuff they have never done themselves but feel must be true because they read it somewhere, don't you?)

Why do you think that spending anything - let alone your $3.5k savings is going to help you achieve your declared aims within your declared timeframe when you have absolutely zero experience to build upon?

You are FAR more likely to throw your good money away because you won't have a clue if you are spending it wisely or not. Until it is all gone.

Now I know that you need to succeed. The problem is that I, and anyone else here who is honest enough to tell you the truth, know that success cannot be guaranteed.

There are people who have all the knowledge, all the money to invest, all the desire and all the conviction, but who will still be struggling to make a few dollars a month after five years.

There are other people who make it big after a few weeks.

The difference most often comes down to what I have called natural entrepreneurship in my earlier post.

So what can YOU do to maximise your chances of making $1800 per month within 4 months?

          1. Get a job. While that may sound like a facetious comment, the reality is that a job will give you regular income while you continue to learn how to be an Internet marketer.

          2. Learn some marketable skills. Writing articles might be tough work until you have developed skills and a market base but there are all kinds of other things that you could earn money at. As you have money to invest, why not buy Photoshop and invest in some training? Graphics are always in demand. Coding, website building, content creation are all things you could learn and sell. Spend some time at the Warriors For Hire forum to see what is in demand.

          3. Partner with someone who has ideas that you can turn into a membership site. Membership sites are very low cost to build and if you provide great content at a low price, easy to sell. Your savings would fund a lot of Facebook advertising to build your subscriber base. Be careful though - paid advertising can get really expensive, really quickly if you are not in full possession of your metrics.

          4. Lots of people have advised that you build a list. This is good advice, but not particularly helpful to someone in your position. Also, as has been pointed out, building a list is NOT a business: learning what to do with your list is what will bring you in sustained income. Frankly, I'd be very surprised if you, starting from scratch. could build a list-based business that generates $1800 per month within 4 months. It can be done, but it is unlikely unless you know exactly what you are doing.

          5. Making $1800 per month as an affiliate marketer also sounds an attractive proposition, but in reality, with no list, no traffic and no audience your main learning curve is going to be how to effectively buy traffic that converts. Some people take to that skill like ducks to water, while others just haemorrhage their cash. You could burn through your $3500 in no time with little to show for it if you are not very careful.

This all seems really negative and I apologize for that. But it is better to give you a reality check now than have you waste the next 4 months and a big chunk of your savings.

Yes, of course you CAN succeed in Internet marketing but don't fall for the hype and lies.

Adjust your time frame, manage your expectations and go and do some real research into the different ways to make money online that you think will best suit your own personality and skills. Hint: asking people you don't know, and who don't know you is NOT research.

Then work up a business plan.

When you've done that, come back and ask as many questions as you like because you will be far more likely to get some sensible answers.

I'd definitely recommend list building. Build a list of targeted subscribers, develop an trusting relationship with them, and promote your own products, affiliate products, or cpa offers to them. When you're seeing results (profits), go ahead and reinvest some of that income back into your business to keep growing your list. You can also try selling solo ads which are high demand right now and is what I'm currently doing to generate constant income for my business.

Theoretical knowledge is something that not working in some areas, and ineternet marketing is one of this areas.

I was working to get a similar income for two years and did it 4 months ago. I now realize that I knew what to do in 2012 too but something was missing. I did not believe, always angry to search engines, maybe I was trying too hard, lost in SEO etc... So practice and try/fail is the best way to learn IM.

    So if I were you:

    -Find some good niches
-Get some domains (I only use blogspot, they are easier to rank)
-Use elance or warriorforum to find some people to write product reviews .(You can write yourself but you only have 4 months, and you need lots of reviews)
-Do not make any SEO: (I instead spend that money for some more reviews)

This is my way and it is working for now.

Build a list man, $1800 a month is very easy to achieve promoting products to a list of buyers... 3.5k is more than enough to buy the traffic you need, I suggest you start buying solo ads, it can cost you $40 for 100 clicks... if your landing page converts well (minimum of 40% opt-in rate), you can get a decent amount of subscribers... another option is PPV traffic, you can get leads for pennies if you do it right

Build a huge list using solo ads and banners. Just a word of advice with solo ads, when buying solo ads there are a number of things you need to do when selecting a Solo Ad Vendor. First of all, contact them and find out the following:
    • Ask them what “niche” their list is in to make sure that they will be responsive to what you are offering.
    • Also, ask them if they use “Rotators” (I would stay clear of them if they do)
    • I also make sure to ask what “countries” there list is from - you want to target the English speaking ones

Also, when running a solo ad campaign, be sure to test small and start with say 100 Clicks to start off, and this normally costs $45 - 50 and before you buy any more clicks be sure to evaluate the campaign and have more or less a minimum of 25% op-tins for a capture page.

Your list is your personal ATM so be sure you do not churn and burn your list. Always build a relationship with your list by sending them value driven posts and sell products you know for a fact that will work (preferably through your personal experience)

Good luck with your goal and I wish I could be of more help.

A blog takes too much time until it gains momentum. You can speed the process up as you have some money to invest, but I recommend some quicker methods. Here are some of my suggestions:

    - Write Kindle ebooks
    - Do freelancing work if you have the skill (e.g. translating, design, programming)
    - Create a Clickbank product
    - Get a software/mobile app developed and sell it or include advertisments
    - Build high qualitative sites and sell them on Flippa

List building is probably your best bet.

Actually it is probably one of the few ways to start a real and sustainable online business.

With blogging and websites in general you are too dependent of the search engines.

Create a wordpress website and offer one of the 3 services below. Start coldcalling businesses of Yelp or another business directory offering them your service. Come up with a script and a list of potential objects you might get and what you will say to respond to them.

    1) SEO
    2) Social Media Management
    3) Reputation Management

It's not hard to make that kind of money monthly, actually its very simple, but it takes hard work and dedication. You need to do what most others don't want to, cold call, get comfortable with rejection and start learning how to sell.

No there is no get rich quick scheme that works, making money is hard work and if it was easy everyone would be doing it. The people selling "how to make money" systems aren't going to make you any money. If they had successful businesses they wouldn't be selling a system on how to make money.

Hit the pavement and hit it hard. My business partner and I started out like this and are now grossing over $200k a month. I took us 4 years to get here, but its very doable if you want to work hard.

Lot's of great feedback here, so I won't try to rehash and reinvent the wheel, lol. Honestly, the only way I can think of to accomplish your goal with no "hands on" experience in that short a time is by selling your own digital product (ebook, video guide, script, plugin, etc). Depending on the complexity of the product you can spend prob the 1st month (if it's simple) creating it and then focus the next three months promoting the hell out of it.
